Cool video, all the best hitters focus on hip work and keeping them closed and using the middle of the field. Should put his name in the video title btw
I find it so incredibly hard to believe that so many elite hitters dont even understand why they are able to do what they are able to do. They all think its the drills they do or the mechanics lol Its also darn shame kids wont honor their commitment these days. Kids just don't realize a good thing when they have it. Alabama Coach Vaughn's baseball program is in great shape. Dont forget who gave you the opportunity to breakout as a true freshman in the first place. Goodluck
So many great aspects of a swing. One thing I noticed likely if you take the shoe off, my man likely has an ER oriented midfoot and calcaneus. If he has more of a flatfoot, it’s likely more of a motor control issue where he may have internal rotation limitations at the hip or the pelvis. You could tell when he starts to go into his load, he is on the outside of his left foot, even though he had the band on the inside of his knee he’s gonna struggle to really generate force through the ground without compensating and you can tell he extends through the low back and it’s not really true hip hinge even though he senses the hamstring lengthening. I wonder if cuing to sense more of the arch lengthening of his left inside heel and big toe pad fat pad will control the knee in the first place without need of the band and will result in less compensatory lumbar extension. This should help a little bit more force to the ground and releasing that elastic energy better with more force production
RDL Stands for Romania Dead Lift It’s where you keep your back straight and stick your but back and hedge at the waist for lifting (For batting he is basically saying make sure you have a slight forward lean)
Really appreciate all these videos they are making me a lot better of a ball player
This is pure gold Summers. Good stuff!
This kid is going places.
Colby Shelton Rocks! Good luck in the fall you definitely are putting in the work. TGRTG

summers when you getting fit my guy
This kid is impressive and thanks for the inside look at Summers Method.
RDL? It would be helpful for new viewers that haven’t heard that term. Thx
Russian deadlift! It’s a lifting exercise. You have to hinge at your hips when doing it, so it sort of relates to this.

Why
Pretty good BP, but I will take that left bp challenge!
You not flinching on that shot up the middle might have been the most impressive part of the video! 😂
Cant wait to see this kid in Orange and Blue!!
For real 💪💪💪💪
Hope you have wheels for that trashcan full balls… love it!

So what’s the kids name?!
It's in the description right below the video.
Colby Shelton
Good video. I like everything but that band drill. Doesn’t make sense to pull against a band when trying to stay in the back hip.
what?
How you gonna put a mic on yourself and not the baseball player
There is a mic on the baseball player
So why he sound much lower @@jtharker5790
No pop
