The defending Super Bowl champion Dallas Cowboys kick off their 1996 season in Chicago under the bright lights of Monday Night Football. There to greet them is a tough Bears squad hungry for a primetime upset. Frank Gifford, Al Michaels, and Dan Dierdorf call the action for ABC. Enjoy! - Спорт
This is when the cracks got bigger when they couldn't take care of the Bears. Emmitt had that scary injury that could of been career threatening, but not having Michael Irvin showed. Kevin Williams was not a second receiver and couldn't pick up the slack when Irvin was suspended. This was a huge warning sign for the 1996 season.
Great upload. I’m a huge Bears fan and remember this game like it was yesterday. The previous year in ‘95, the Bears had an unBears like offense with great production from Erik Kramer, Curtis Conway, Rashaan Salaam, and Jeff Graham. Unfortunately, their defense was awful and was the main reason they didn’t make the playoffs after a 5-2 start. In free agency following that year, they signed Brian Cox, a nasty MLB who was supposed to make their defense good again. After this win, the optimism was flowing for the Bears. Unfortunately, they finished 7-9 and then traded their ‘97 first rounder for the great Rick Mirer. Thanks for the game!
I love Cowboys history and I had never seen this game. I was only seven when it aired. Who knew the Bears had some offense at one time?

My goodness the Cowboys look terrible. Sloppy and undisciplined. Ans still in the 1st half of the game. Being a Cowboys fan I forgot how fast they fell off to start that 96 season. Switzer was a disaster as a head coach. Jerry ran it into ground back then and it's been there ever since.
