In my experience the best metal bands I watched live are Opeth, Sepultura and Gojira, and if I have to mention some other band I had an impressive experiencie watching Slipknot back in the 2000's, nowadays I don't know if they have all the energy they had back in time because that shit was intense as fuck
The title track from red rocks is phenomenal. One of my favorites. They asked Metallica years ago who was going to carry the genre after they were gone and they all agreed gojira was the band to do it.
The drummer Mario Duplantier is generally considered one of the best (if not the best) metal drummer currently. His speed and technique are amazing, and his creativity is off the charts. You will enjoy most Gojira songs because of the pitch bends and other "choppy" techniques.
Yeeeess! You made your way to one of THE BEST bands ever made. These guys are phenomenal! You can’t go wrong with any song, old or new. Rabbit hole… here he comes!!!!

Gojira - "Remembrance - The Link Alive" and "Flying Whales" The best fuckin' choppiest songs and many others, this band is fuckin' awesome. The drummer and the singer are brothers. Mario Duplantier has developed a totally unique drumming style and is ranked among the best drummers in the world. And Joe also has his own singing style, he has developed a unique powerfull melodic screaming technique.
The dynamics of this song, all the cool riffs, the best drummer in metal proberly.. this performance get me always listening to it, putting GOJIRA way up there among the best metal bands around.. they got a lot of other mindblowing live stuff, like Flying whales, The art of dying, the heaviset matter of the universe, Lénfant sauvage.. just to pick some..
The feeling a Gojira fan gets seeing someone react to them for the first time.... Pure appreciation on all fronts. I'm from the UK was fortunate enough to be clubbing 15 years ago at a place where the DJ was from France and introduced me to Gojira. Been a fan ever since. It ha been a great thing watching them become the band they are today. Please can you check out Flying Whales by Gojira... Prepare for yourself for this journey. Much love, from your new sub!

I'm so glad you're finally doing Gojira! They were my gateway to Lorna Shore, Slaughter to Prevail, Jinjer, etc. I'd recommend you check out The Art of Dying and Clone (Live at Vielles Charreus Festival), Wisdom Comes and Flying Whales (Live at Brixton from the same show as your vid) and Global Warming (Live at Silver Cord). I think that should give you some great variety and insight into Gojira's sound and style!
I'm seeing Gojira, Mastadon and Lorna all at once in August. I used to like bands like Lorna more, but Mario is a really creative drummer and the constant double bass and doom style of Lorna Shore tends to bore me now, once getting used to the variations Gojira is capable of. They are like 12 bands in one lol.
