They put on an absolutely phenomenal show. Their live performances are so incredibly tight and full of energy. One of the few bands I'll go see in concert every single time they're near me

Gojira is such an awesome live band. Mario Duplantier is one of the most interesting and intense drummer alive. You could also give Opeth a try one day :) Also, I really like how you two notice the details that make theses songs great. This is one of the few bands where it's OK to start listening with the live versions. They are as good or better than the studio version. Art of Dying would be a good follow up.
I feel like The Art of Dying would be kind of like throwing them off the deep end of Gojira haha. I feel like Flying Whales, Heaviest Matter in the Universe, Stranded, Silvera, and Global Warming aka quintessential Gojira tunes should probably come first before the monster that is The Art of Dying haha. Dunno. Certainly would like to see them react to more Gojira overall though.
I kind of disagree with that... most of their live videos are poor quality and some of the songs don't really sound that good live because they use a lot of effects on their studio versions - they do sound a lot better than most bands though - a lot of people are bashing Joe's live performances though because he makes a lot of mistakes and misses notes but man... the style of singing that he does for most of the songs is really hard - not to mention that most of his guitar work has to be really precise.

More Gojira would be fantastic! I think you'd like their newest single, Another World! Also, I'd HEAVILY recommend seeing Gojira live, but you might want to stay away from the front of the standing area, the mosh pits for Gojira can get downright insane
