The art of dying by gojira! The drummer is an absolute beast. And this song showcases that

So now it's a perfect time to react to Gojira's another masterpiece Flying Whales. My recommendation is to hear live at Red Rocks version. The venue, the atmosphere is magnificent, futhermore you can see how each of the members is into the show. You've already witnessed it but it's never too much. Love the reaction, cheers 🤘

I've been discovering Gojira during the quarantine too and to sum it up, any song they did during their poland concert in 2018 is absolutely crazy.
I feel like as far as singing goes, Joe's voice has gotten more colour in the recent years and it makes the live performances that much more enjoyable.
I still think that Silvera is the song that represents Gojira the best, as in all of their aspects condensed in a 4min song.

I just saw your comments on Gojira. I would say you hit it exactly by saying that you have to be special to create something unique. You need to see them live, their Music is on point and flawless.

well those french boys , Gojira, is just one of the best metal bands of the last 20 years ..they started in 96 as a more Death Metal Band ,meaning their early albums are even heavier ( "the heaviest matter of the universe "is the perfect demonstration of that ) but still with their identity and as they got older through the years they pushed more and more that atmospheric feel and got softer but still amazing ,the don't shredd or anything , they always have this minimalist approach and repetition in their riffs but it's well put together , they are amazing live ..they sound even better live .one of the best live metal band ever , they care a lot about the environmenent and their lyrics always have a deep meaning not to mention Mario Duplantier the drummer is regarded as one of the best metal drummer of the world so yeah you might like it . Some songs from 1996 to now , i recommend to check their live versions as well as often ,it sounds better ( well at least , the song of their first two album between 2001 and 2003 ), because they didn't have a lot of budget at the time )
The heaviest matter of the universe ( of course ) 2005- studio version or live at the vieilles charues in 2010 or in poland in 2019 or from that same concert at brixton ..but the video might not be available ,it depends of the country
Clone ( very death metal ) 2001 ( live at vieilles charrues )
Love 2001 ( live in poland 2019 or rio )
Remembrance ( live from the link alive ) 2003
Space Time ( live from the link alive ) 2003
Flying Whales 2005 ( live at brixton )
    BackBone 2005 ( live at brixton )
    From the Sky 2005
Oroborus 2005 ( live at les eurockeennes )
    Toxica Garbage island 2008
The art of Dying 2008 ( live at vieilles charues )
    Esoteric Surgery 2008
wisdom comes ( live at brixton )
    a sight to behold
    Vacuity 2008
    L'enfant sauvage 2012
where dragons dwell ( live at hellfest )
    Mouth Of Khala 2012
    Explosia 2012
    stranded 2016
Pray ( live at red rock ) 2016
Low Lands ( for the the passing of their mother )
    and many others .

I'm so new to Gojira. Everything I've ever heard from them is awesome, and yet for whatever reason, they were that great band I slept on, until I just up and downloaded their whole discography a week ago. So far my faves of theirs are
    Yama's Messengers
    In the Wilderness
Try those out!!! I can't believe I waited on Gojira, especially since my ears hear them as halfway between the Meshuggah and Opeth I've been blowing up for 20 years.

Cool! Yeah I love Meshuggah(have not listened to all their stuff) in shorts bursts like one or half a song at a time. Seen them in concert but the sound was rumbly and not distinct so it was kind of a mess(no fault of the band of course, just a shitty venue).

Check out Wolf Down the Earth (there’s no official video). And check out lyrics, even if it’s after the reaction on your own time. What separates Gojira is the intelligence and passion enmeshed in their music. Enjoy your journey!

@@dannytheswedishmusixian1513 Yeah, may be, but believe me it is worth the listening. The version is a bit different from the album (almost twice as long) and really full of soul and impressive. The album was released after the Duplantier brothers' mother passed away. So much to recommend for this band, discovered them 4 years ago, and still loving this band, together with Tool my favourite metal bands.
Gojira started out as Godzilla, they started at very heavy, but it’s oh so good, and changed their name in 2001 to Gojira, the japanese version.
I would stay in this era of Gojira.
So i suggest you to have a look at The Art of Dying - Live at Vieilles Charrues and Oroborus - Live at Eurockéens concert, and than gradually go to some older, heavier Gojira.

We leave the shores to see the mountains rising
    A distant impression growing
This judgment creates the pain we hold
Destructive intentions that serve no purpose but the end of us all
    These vultures from the past
Coming in all the hells and worlds, the time has come
    Delivered from their eyes
Embrace, suffer, destroy - the gift of guilt
    The shame and sorrow, self-condemnation
Fill all the gaps and the spaces, unyielding
    Bestowed upon us, devastating power
We're building connective tissue to a maze of lies
We're left as starving orphans, the vital core is gone
Our sins are all over and over again we swallow
We're sick and tired when this wind blows, the reflex is insane
We must forgive and stop blaming ourselves for this love
In all the hells and worlds, the time has come
In all the hells and worlds, the time has come

Except they aren't new. Check of black crown initiate. Very similar type of music.

LOL at the power metal comment! That's the only genre of metal I don't like either. You must react to another unique band with a great drummer Leprous. You can start with "The Sky is Red" or any other song really.

Haha, thanks! I think that should be the tagline of this channel "NO POWER METAL". Thanks for the tip.
