It's because you have what we all have, protagonist syndrome. Immersing yourself in a world you know everything about, feeling like you're the hero in a great mythos, is a lot more interesting than learning that the world is a really hard place for anyone not willing to actually die to change it. Especially for those who will almost certainly do NOTHING to change the real world - not even a dig, that's the truth for most of us.
Well, idk if it's stated in the lore but, orcs usually reproduce much much faster than human. (Based on Lotr, Some animes) And if the elves thought that human reproduce too fast, then it's normal for human to have similar way of thought about the orc.
Can we all just take a moment and appreciate the HUGE lore of TES? We sometimes take these games for granted and sometimes hate on the developer. But when we see these videos come out from the TES community, when we read te books scattered all over the different maps. When we read speculations and having interactions with the developers. Can we not agree that this must be one of the biggest and richest universes created to this date for a game? Bethesda is of course inspired by D&D, LOTR and many other great fantasy stories. But they made a world that so unique and gives us so many questions and makes us so interested. We want to now about this and that and that's only possible with a good story and a good living breathing world. We have such a big community even tho there are only 5 games in the TES so far and one MMORPG that's not in line with the rest of the lore (So basically 5). Sometimes I hate Bethesda for doing things, and sometimes I shit on their games just because. But when i'm on UA-cam, nexus or TESWiki or anywhere related to TES I quickly turn in awe and love the franchise for giving us this living, breathing, unique, wonderful, mysterious and most of all lovable world.

I'd put Jade empire for the oldies but idk if anyone remembers that classic.

This is much more of an explanatory style, that is broken down to its most basic so everyone can digest it with clarity. They both do a good job, they are just different. I think his thorough style is a little more to my liking, even though I know just about everything there is Elder Scrolls, it's so fun to hear.
Wait, Black marsh is full of argonions and living trees but what else, I know they haven't made a game on black marsh but I'm curious to know any lore you have on it.
I always think that the night of tears is a reference from Hernan Cortes desperate escape in tenochtitlan and is called "La Noche Triste" or Sad night, hernan cortes having 300 spaniards, were driven out and returned, same with ysgrammor, 500 men and conquered snow elves
You didn't mention that the redguard are actually from "another universe" so to speak, and thus have forms of magic and technology that the other races don't completly understand (stone magic and guns). But other than that great video, keep it up!
I don't know... two ears with earlobes, bipedal, an olfactory that stems from a nose on the front of the face, five fingers on each hand from two arms on either side of a torso, a tongue, self-focusing lenses as eyes with retinas that vary in colour.... I.. dont know. Sounds pretty human like...
Basically you have to have a PHD or spend literally hundreds of hours trying to figure out all this out in game, without making diagrams, charts, maps, etc this would be an impossible task for the average fan. I love Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim but OH MY Goodness they made it complicated. Many props for you doing all this research!
This video was done very well and is the kind of elder scrolls lore videos I’ve been hoping to find. It’s informative and has get visual. And gets deep into the lore. Keep up the good work!!!
For someone who loves playing ESO online, I was never interested by the lore... but you have changed my mind the story is really interesting. for once youtube recommendations didn't fail me.
Artsin Craftz There were Altmer that were thrown off the Summerset Isles. These exiles found their own Island and over the centuries, became the Sea Elves.
Fascinating. I am only familiar with Tamrielic lore from playing Elder Scrolls Online, and the small bit of research I have done on my own. But as a role-player, lore is important to get to know. I'd absolutely love to see a video surrounding Dunmer culture, as my main is Dumer/Chimer. Of particular interest to me is their worship of the 'good' Daedra: Azura, Boethia, and Mephala. I'm also interested in Morag Tong and Dark Brotherhood lore, and how they relate to Dunmer culture. I read somewhere that one theory about the Night Mother is that she is an aspect of Mephala. Apparently, this is accepted, canonical lore, though a belief and theory that is not widely known in the game's universe, let alone widely accepted. Basically, one of those tidbits that is cannon, but there are also conflicting canonical theories about. I have also read that one theory on the origination of the Brotherhood is that they split off from the Tong, when the Tong capitulated to the worship of the Tribunal, (when they were nearly wiped out after assassinating an extremely powerful Imperial noble) from the original worship of the 'good' Daedra, particularly that of Mephala, who was, in essence, the Morag Tong's patron deity. Again, accepted canonical lore, at least according to the source I read it at, but likewise with conflicting lore that is also considered cannon. Still, it would fit in with the theory of Mephala and the Night Mother being the same entity, at least to those characters that believe that theory.

this is the best most straightforward and simple explanation of the race lore I have seen to date. its excellent. I am subscribing and thank you for being a fellow Aldmeris deny-er. I call the high elves out on their bs like as if I was Pelinal.
I believe he'll likely make an episode for the Daedric Princes and their interaction with Mundus. This should include werewolves, vampires, those tree creatures, etc.
Sooo, Azura cursed the Chimer and turned them into Dunmer. Basically, being a dunmer is a curse, is that it? What's so bad about being a Dunmer, compared to being Chimer..?
Azura only changed the appearance of the race. Modern day Dunmer don't even mind because they forgot what they were in the past and think they were always like this.
The Snow Elves attacked the Nords because the barbarians had no idea what they were doing with the Eye of Magnus. Ysgramor the Coward snuck away from the fight and fled to Atmora where he got on his knees and begged his dragon overlords for help defeating this far superior race, thus securing the Dragon Cult in ancient Skyrim. As to why Ysgramor never recovered the Eye of Magnus.. Probably because he was a Nord, and magic scares him. Thousands of years later, the Psijic Order would do the same thing the Snow Elves did, but in a more peaceful way. They took they Eye away from people who had no business meddling with it's power.
+William DeGroot (Lichdemon) They left the Summerset Isles due to losing factional fighting and went to their own island (Can't remember its name) where they evolved to adapt to the harsh, swampy conditions

This is such a helpful summary. I'm fairly new to skyrim and I easily forget or mix the origins and races in the game especially the Mers. And i can't even distinguish the difference of some human races.
you realise that giant resemble more goblin aspects than man aspects, they have curved ears like goblins, style of clothing, way they communicate, way they interact with animals
The giants are descending from the human settlers, a stronger and greater breed with less intelligence than the average human. Their state of existence might be explained with the intermingling of a daedric prince just like the Orsimer and Dunmer were born.
wolfmaster7 It's just a theory, a game theory! Most likely since the Giants had to flee into the mountains (they were larger and more intelligent back then) they became test subjects to the Dwemer who made them into more docile creatures so they wouldn't be a problem.
I loved this. You not only did your research but you also made sure that the viewer knew that some of it is unconfirmed and just speculation. ☆☆☆☆☆ 5 stars : Subscribed 👍

The focus of this video was the major races of Tamriel, which the Maormer are not. If I do a video on Pyandonea in the future, I will certainly talk about the Sea Elves.
and the sinistral elves
yeah actually curious about them
plz make more of these videos :))
oh my god there are sea elves in the world of elder scrolls??! please tell me more about this
Can't give this enough THUMBS UP! I know the history in TES VERY WELL! But it's so cool to see it visually represented through time! Thank you SO MUCH!!
This is better then shoddy cast tbh
Delimbiyra ღ
shoddycast should just stick to Fallout.
Delimbiyra ღ I miss shoddy casts older documentary style videos. not this whole "storyteller" bullshit
This is much more of an explanatory style, that is broken down to its most basic so everyone can digest it with clarity. They both do a good job, they are just different. I think his thorough style is a little more to my liking, even though I know just about everything there is Elder Scrolls, it's so fun to hear.
the story teller thing worked with the fallout stuff but it honestly fucked up the elder scrolls one.
Delimbiyra ღ fuck no
This guy has to be the most underrated channel on UA-cam
Wait, Black marsh is full of argonions and living trees but what else, I know they haven't made a game on black marsh but I'm curious to know any lore you have on it.
Frozen Flame play ESO and you can go to black marsh
Frozen Flame and elswere
What if you don't want to play an MMO?
I know this is late but, the mmo actually has really good single player content, I mostly play it single player and it's a lot of fun.
Silther Sehost Yeah I got it yesterday and I'm surprised how good the PVE is. Almost as good as Skyrim (so far).
I always think that the night of tears is a reference from Hernan Cortes desperate escape in tenochtitlan and is called "La Noche Triste" or Sad night, hernan cortes having 300 spaniards, were driven out and returned, same with ysgrammor, 500 men and conquered snow elves
Time traveler:hey dwemer what’s up
Dwemer: we just won the battle of red mountain!
Time traveler:oh which one?
Dwemer: **and I oop**
Dwemer: say sike right now
There are so many possibilities for games and movies, I just want to play and watch everything that comes a long as long as the story is this complex
You didn't mention that the redguard are actually from "another universe" so to speak, and thus have forms of magic and technology that the other races don't completly understand (stone magic and guns). But other than that great video, keep it up!
Lmao i love how the only black race in the game has "guns"
Jo Stal
theres also a race called dunmer.
I was talking about human looking races :p
dunmer dont look very human
I don't know... two ears with earlobes, bipedal, an olfactory that stems from a nose on the front of the face, five fingers on each hand from two arms on either side of a torso, a tongue, self-focusing lenses as eyes with retinas that vary in colour.... I.. dont know. Sounds pretty human like...
@Catholon el Bridget
Wow you're reaaally trying hard to look like a well educated smart kid, kinda taking it too far.
Many props for you doing all this research!
i can conquer all of them, cause im a dragonborn with mastered sneak archer.
Great video. A simplified version of something is always easier to understand.
VERY informative. Now my only question is how did the Sea Elves come to be
Artsin Craftz There were Altmer that were thrown off the Summerset Isles.
ONE MILLION VIEWS!!!!!
Thank you so much to every single one of you who has watched this video. When I started making these, I had no idea they would get such an incredible response. It's hard to believe that this, only my second ever Lore video, would be the one that people latched onto the most. That is clearly the case, however, and all I can say is, again, thank you.
If you're one of the people who enjoyed this video so much that you got it up to a million views, then please do check out my other presentations of Elder Scrolls Lore. In my opinion, they're even better than this one. More is always on the way as well, so be sure to subscribe so you don't miss those.
For the last time in this comment, thank you to everyone. Please go and have yourself a wonderful day. Maybe after watching this video a few more times. 😉
Double Negative you forgot the reachmens even if they aren’t very important
i know im randomly asking but does anybody know a way to get back into an Instagram account..?
I stupidly lost my password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me!
@Hayes Elisha instablaster :)
@Kieran Kylo Thanks for your reply. I found the site through google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm.
Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
@Kieran Kylo It worked and I finally got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D
Thank you so much, you saved my ass!
Other than some minor spelling errors in places, this is an overall fantastic, well-structured and easily comprehensible lore video.
Elder Scrolls Online is my first Elder Scrolls game, so these videos help give me a sense of the lore.
I urge you to play the old games
this is the best most straightforward and simple explanation of the race lore I have seen to date. its excellent. I am subscribing and thank you for being a fellow Aldmeris deny-er. I call the high elves out on their bs like as if I was Pelinal.
Nice video can you do a episode on all of the Lycanthropes of Tamriel like werewolves.
I believe he'll likely make an episode for the Daedric Princes and their interaction with Mundus. This should include werewolves, vampires, those tree creatures, etc.
Lore so deep it has in-game historical interpretations
Sooo, Azura cursed the Chimer and turned them into Dunmer. Basically, being a dunmer is a curse, is that it? What's so bad about being a Dunmer, compared to being Chimer..?
Azura only changed the appearance of the race. Modern day Dunmer don't even mind because they forgot what they were in the past and think they were always like this.
And the unceasing red-eye effect.
you can get shot by an american cop
Well between the red eyes, close to black skin, and giant f***ing sword you probably look like an american cop's nightmare
i'm happy that we agree
The part about Trinimac blew my god damn mind. ._.
Also, my only question is what exactly is the story of the Maormer (sea elves). Or is there not enough lore on them yet?
+William DeGroot (Lichdemon) They left the Summerset Isles due to losing factional fighting and went to their own island (Can't remember its name) where they evolved to adapt to the harsh, swampy conditions
Some small errors but mostly a really accurate telling. Short and sweet with all the important bits, great video !
I'll admit I'm not perfect. Plus this was only my second episode. I wasn't great at researching yet. TES is complicated, man.
@@DoubleNegative Nono I don't blame you, love your videos and yeah, Bethesda is pretty, hm, "unorganized" with their Elder Srolls lore. Justified becaue there's so much of it but, it is messy haha
Just imagine if TES got a high budget TV series, along with a full movie. I'd be BEYOND hyped for that.
Elder scrolls: the last jedi. >:C
The lore of the elder scrolls is so well thought out and planned. Good lord
Btw just subbed, man!
8:21 *SHAME ON YOU, SWEET NEREVAR*
this is fantastic work, sir. enthralling to say the least. i certainly hope that you continue this series of lore exploration. your presentation, visuals, editing, pacing, voice, etc. etc. make me wish there was more. i do understand that making these videos is extremely difficult work. for what it is worth, please keep up the excellent work. i am subscribing in hopes to see more in the near future. best of luck in all of your ways, and thank you for your talents.
Pillars of eternity, dungeons and dragons, or the elder scrolls?
This is such a helpful summary. I'm fairly new to skyrim and I easily forget or mix the origins and races in the game especially the Mers. And i can't even distinguish the difference of some human races.
By the way giants are nords that evolved away from the traditional human look.
you realise that giant resemble more goblin aspects than man aspects, they have curved ears like goblins, style of clothing, way they communicate, way they interact with animals
Michael Malone the giants are from atmoria just like humans
The giants are descending from the human settlers, a stronger and greater breed with less intelligence than the average human. Their state of existence might be explained with the intermingling of a daedric prince just like the Orsimer and Dunmer were born.
is their any sources proving this?
wolfmaster7
It's just a theory, a game theory!
0:00 How low everybody
xD
Great video, man. Appreciate the hard work and dedication it took creating this
"People" of Tamriel
Why are there elves there?
The Lore in Elder Scrolls is soo deep, thanks for the content! HYPED for the next one! Subbed!
I think you forgot to mention the kothringi in Blackmarsh. But thats not really a big mistake, so it doesnt really matter :)
Yees
I'd really love to see a game about the war between the Nords, Chimer, and Dwemer. The disappearance of the Dwemer and the Chimer culture always intrigued me.
Every race in Tamriel: *Have deep lore and ancestral reasons why they exist and are where they are.*
Khajiits and Argonians: *Just kinda exist... That's all.*
Well the Argonians were created by the hist as guardians for black marsh against the other races
I love Oblivion and Skyrim but didn't knew about this background information. Thanks.
Skyrim belongs to the nords!!
Begone outlander!
I knew another radical Stormcloak will terrorize this video.
*LONG LIVE THE EMPIRE YOU CRIMINAL SCUMS*
Get outta here you racist.
Ist Archimedes Its a part of the Empire and it will remain in the Empire,we just need time to rebuild our capital and legions then we will take back our lost lands and destroy the Dominion! But you rebels are making it really hard to do so! We Imperials are trying our best.
Wtf where was this channel hiding ? This is how a lore channel must be
Got a new sub gj
WOW. lots of daedric involvement
DUUUDE FINALLY SOMEONE ACRUALLY MAKES LORE VIDEOS WITH GOOD VISUALS!
Mmmm. I love your work but just one little slight annoyed me immensely (as a Redguard fan). The Ra Gada beat much more than just orcs when they invaded Tamriel. They also bested Elves, Nords, Imperials, and I think some beast folk.
never got out of hammerfell. Never formed an empire. Suckers.
hes talking about the majority ps he mentioned beastfolk dumb ass
also thy didnt invade tamriel the invaded hammerfell which was not under control by the neighbouring man or mer just beastfolk and some orcs in which he explained in the video though they did try to invade more lands belonging to man and mer but ultimately failed
Ysgramor and his two sons. Ysgramor appears with identical but smaller versions of himself. LOVE IT
So.. Does Skyrim really belong to the Nords ?
I don't think much of tamriel belongs to any of the races
Well everyone else is dead.... 😂
Muslim
Man, you need many, many more subscribers. Excellent work.
Do mods connt as lore
C0da makes legit anything cannon.
That was a dumbass question
