Trump never called the virus a "hoax", that's simply fake news. If Trump thought the virus was a "hoax", why did he stop travel from China, back when the Democrats all wanted it to continue? See if you can process that in your brain.
Trump also HAS sent many ventilators and other equipment to NYC. Even though the state of NY refused to buy enough ventilators for themselves, as many other states did. An internal report for NY said they needed to buy 16k ventilators, but Cuomo did nothing. So they call the federal government to bail them out, and you pretend that Trump refused to help them. What alternate universe do you live in?
By the way, when hydroxychloroquine proves to be effective against the virus, what will you socialst Democrats do? Cry? Sick that you'd rather see a drug fail, simply because Trump backed it.

The problem is that the World Court is extremely cowardly whenever it comes to US leaders committing crimes against humanity. As a Brit who has never known a system other than our NHS, what I've always wanted to ask an American who could respond after considered thought rather than just responding with rhetoric ingrained by corporations is:
When you look at your neighbour, do you not think "when they get ill, I will look after them"? Either from a purely selfless moral point of view, because you want to look after your neighbour, or from an understanding that it benefits you personally if your neighbour were to return the same sentiment?
Many of us do. I have taken in two homeless people and my grown grandson who is out of work. I have always helped people all my life. Now I don't just go pick up random strays, but I thought most people did these things when they could.
Some areas people don't know their neighbors other than to say hi in the hall. My neighbors have been very supportive; my husband passed away Saturday and they let me know if I need anything let them know.
In NYC I have been checking on my elderly neighbors and during bad snow storms I shoveled there stairs and didn’t even tell I did because I didn’t want them to try to pay me. I think in NYC people look after others in the neighborhood.

I didn’t know too much about Trump until he announced his candidacy for President. For example, I chose not to watch the Apprentice nor follow his self-promotional schtick. Sadly, I now feel that I know him far, far too well, and it pains me that this knowledge is irreversible.

Needless to say, I felt like I’d stepped into an alternate dimension having to actually _explain_ why he was a terrible candidate. These were outwardly intelligent people and I was having heated discussions about why his birtherism, xenophobia, lies, childish taunts and obvious mental health issues were “maybe” not good qualities in a president!
I never watched the show either, but I’ve been observing him since the mid-80s, and always considered him simultaneously a canny swindler and a willfully ignorant buffoon. So when he actually started gaining traction as a candidate, it was like watching the slowest car wreck ever happening right before your eyes, thinking at any second the driver might regain control before the crash. I live in Germany and my roommates are self employed. They applied for government help funds and received 5 grand within 2 days or so. Just for comparison.
For comparison, I applied March 21st, received $173 for 2 weeks backpay April 7th, have not received a phone call, a card to use the funds, and to boot, it was a re opened claim from 2 years ago and couldn't file a new one from new income bcz that previous claim was still open, so the benefit amount isn't even correct

It seems like the Federal government is directly competing with the States to buy medical supplies. The Fed then turns around and gets those supplies to a small list of private companies which then go and sell those supplies to the States in an open marketplace that is causing each state to be bidding over the others.

It must be so hard for those reporters to sit there and not talk back, especially when Trump is bragging about how Pence can dodge their questions and Kushner is talking about Federal property like it belongs to him. I know it's part of their job to follow the etiquette and only ask questions when they get the chance, but good grief it must take self discipline to not start razzing the stage. Actually, I've just been talking about this with the microwave and toaster while drinking coffee and we all agreed that things are getting bad. I didn't mention anything to the washing machine as she puts a different spin on everything. Certainly not to the fridge as he is acting cold and distant. In the end, the iron straightened me out as she said everything will be fine, no situation is too pressing. The vacuum was very unsympathetic... told me to just suck it up, but the fan was more optimistic and hoped it would all soon blow over! The toilet looked a bit flushed when I asked its opinion and didn’t say anything but the doorknob told me to get a grip. The front door said I was unhinged and so the curtains told me to ........yes, you guessed it .....pull myself together.
