Their is 27 thousand Mexican soldiers on the border who is assisting in stopping illegal immigration and Mexico is paying for it. Illegal immigration is now down 75% on the border. Why isn't CNN or MSNBC reporting on this?

FYI: Sometimes I make comments based on the fact and derived from from the viewpoint I that I actually lived and worked in USA in the 1980's.
You are however correct in your analysis that Trump got elected as many were tired of career politicians, and that is a phenomenon seen in many other countries as well.
Such protest parties generally are on the far end on the political scale, but even though the leaders of such parties often are politically shrewd they generally do not get more than 10-15% of the votes.
The difference with USA and what makes this so species is that in this case one person who is obviously inept in understanding both international treaties, diplomacy as well as the workings and legislation of his own country became the country's leader.

When Trump started speaking about walls and wheels it made me very sad. I don't even live in America, so technically it's not really something that would actually affect me, but seeing how senile Trump sounds and how hellbent he is to build a useless wall and let hundreds of thousands people suffer - with the consequence, that some might not be able to pay their rent and buy food... that's just sad.

As a German I find this whole ordeal kind of ridiculous. We had a wall dividing our country for 40 years. With soldiers shooting people who tried to cross it at sight and land mines 'protecting' it and people still tried and succeeded in getting on the other side. And the former border dividing Germany is nothing compared to the Mexican-American border. If people are desperate and want to get over it, they will get over it or die trying.
How about you take those 5 Billion and try to fight some of that poverty in Mexico so people wont feel the need to run away from their homes instead. Or invest it into education and you might actually profit from those coming to you. Basically everything would be more useful than this wall..

A wall won't make all of these "problems" vanish suddenly, and i think people forget that fact. If a person of high status says something involving statistics or comparisons, they take their word for it like it's written gospel and believe it to be completely true, when in reality those things happen within a country by it's own citizens. The thing about America is, we don't do anything for anybody unless it benefits us which is sorely wrong and demented, even if it's for our own people, there has to be ulterior motives. With 100% support in the senate, then after congress reconvened the house passed a bill to reopen the gov't. So to make it clear, our congressional leaders on BOTH sides of the aisle want the gov't to function, but Trump and now recently Mitch as speaker of the senate refuse to listen to the will of the elected representatives and the people.

I was at the border in San Diego last summer and talked to a border agent, these people know what's really going on. The group I was with was given permission to walk across a kind of "no man's land" between fences (pre-trump), called Friendship Park, and come up to the wall directly between us and Mexico. They open it for a couple hours every week. You can reach your fingers through & touch people on the other side. The first people we saw, as a matter of fact when we looked through were actually Chinese tourists lol.

Walls don't work these days. Even in the ancient world, people had ladders and shovels, later came trebuches etc. then someone invented gunpowder. Walls disappeared from use before flying machines were even invented. A wall won't stop anything, tighter security with more and better trained personnel will to some extent.
