Bernie will always be my first choice for president. His outfit was a statement about the amount of money spent on fashionable outfits for the inauguration, when the government refuses to pay $2,000 to all the people suffering financially due to Covid. Bernie is a humble hero.
He was wearing a jacket from a snowboard company, not because it was cheap, not because it was anti-fashionable, but because the snowboard company is in Vermont, and he supports businesses in his state. I do not doubt he bought it with his own money, because I just don’t see him accepting a gift, even a jacket, from a business.

The selection of a VP is a long, arduous and complicated process that takes time to vette and assess each potential candidate. Even Trump's selection of Pence, a guy he didn't even know before agreeing to choose him, was more complex than just trying to find a highly regarded white Republican establishment figure to give Trump some credibility. And that was the least thought out VP selection in modern history.

I agree with Seth's stance on a lot of things but from an objective standpoint the anti-conservative verbiage is quite heinous. Seth has a way of deadpanning some really strong "anti" language that to me just sounds like a democrat version of all the things the repubs say. I much prefer Trevor Noah or John Oliver for presenting things in a less biased way. But Seth also does more frequent updates so I get the news sooner. (Since I don't watch actual news, only comedy shows.)

I mean, Seth Meyers still has a lot of Closer Look segments about Rudy Giuliani and Donald Trump in 2021 and 2022, but it is much better than 2020 simply with the two facts in mind that (1) Donald Trump lost the 2020 election fair and square with no voter fraud, and (2) Regardless of any new voting restrictions, Mike Lindell never has any real proof that more of Joe Biden's supporters committed voter fraud, so somebody with a say in voting rights will eventually veto Republicans' arbitrary voting restrictions knowing there is no good reason to implement them. It's amazing how nice it is to have someone who can speak in coherent and complete sentences. Whatever you think of Biden and his political views, him being able to actually speak is an improvement on Trump. You start to forget what a President should sound like when you get overwhelmed by the word-vomit that constantly spewed from Trump's mouth, but hearing Biden speak was a nice reminder of what a rational person sounds like, and was a real breath of fresh air and peace for me.
I’d like to read a few lines that mean a lot to him, “Two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions, on a sesame seed bun.”

It takes quite a long time to safely start a helicopter engine, because it get pretty hot, and metal reacts poorly to rapid changes in temperature. In a real emergency, you could do it in a minute or so, but you'd want to overhaul or replace the engine before you flew it again

I can't express the relief I felt upon today's events... I had been carrying SO SO much the past four, going on five years... and to feel it all melt away just knowing Biden's inauguration went on without a dumb coup hitch? Oh my god. I was at work all afternoon and have yet to catch up on the inauguration itself but man... that much relief over so small a thing? My energy levels were amazing today! We're on the path to sane again, folks! ToT

For real! It felt so good to wake up today and realize hey, Trump is no longer the president. I know all our troubles won't just magically evaporate now, but it's nice that at least we no longer will be subject to the ramblings of a mad man who's in control of the nuclear launch button.
