Thanks for this video. I studied it to change out the tensioner pulley and idler pulley on my 2002 Mercedes S430. In my case, I needed an E-12 Torx socket for the tensioner bolts and a T-45 Torx hex bit for the idler. Removal and installation of the two pulleys was easy after watching the video. Benz is running like a champ again!
Glad it could help... My wife actually drove home for about 20 min on the highway w the belt gone. She should've just stopped and had it towed home. By the time I looked at it in the morning, it was almost out of coolant and she almost blew the engine!! If you're hearing a pretty evenly spaced squeaking noise from the engine, odds are it's this pulley (on these models) or some other belt related issue. Def get it checked out...
Great video, thanks for posting. Would have been nice to hear the engine before the wheel fell off as I'm trying to diagnose my engine noise and suspect it may be one of these things going bad.
