I drove a Expedition on vacation for ten days this summer and I was very impressed with fuel economy, ride and handling. If I could afford one I would go buy one today. Great vehicle!
Ford does it right with the glass popping in the back instead of having to pull open the whole hatch. I had a 2010 Escape, it was one of the best features of it! I wish they’d bring that back to all Ford SUVs.
I fell in love with the Yukon but this Expedition is also a great vehicle. Even with a smaller engine it has a good amount of power and seems to be very pleasant to drive. -24:02 A Ford Excursion making a cameo😍
I think both climate and audio controls should return to traditional knobs/buttons, not touch screen. It's easier and safer to use. I'm surprised there's not legislation that limits touchscreen controls in vehicles.
The Yukon is calling my name. One you got NA V8 under the hood which automakers are going to small displacement engines. Two you just have a more nice upscale interior in the Yukon then in this expedition. Better finishes and all
@@samlung2724 that's true. It's a big car so fuel economy shouldn't be a concern. You're just getting V8 fuel economy in a twin turbo V6. Not much of a difference 🤷♂️
I’ve been in both vehicles and I gotta say that v6 is a bit faster than the v8. And I’m some areas the Yukon feels cheap, not to mention GM still has the dread displacement on demand system that plagues there suvs and pickups.
The Expedition looks great since the redesign a few years ago with nice updates. Nothing wrong with the EcoBoost V6 replacing the V8, but the new Yukon has the upper hand to me overall. Thanks as always to the Raiti team for the video and the muscle behind the lens!
Great stuff Joe! Love the Expedition. 82k is a lot of bank. I’d go with this over the GMC. Not in love with the giant computer screen stuck on the dash. Thanks for bringing it to us.
I detailed a 2019 Ford Expedition last weekend and the interior space impressed me. But when my friend started the engine it sounded like it had bad cam phasers...only had 58k miles on it.
I always did like Expeditions since the late 90s really like the fourth generation they have come a long way agree with other reviewer not a fan of those wheels either overall a great looking Expedition.
Surprised you didn’t zonk it Joe for lack of a camera mirror which is on the Denali. I have a 21 Escalade with a 6.2 and I am amazed how quickly these things get to 60. 5.0 in the Ford and 5.4 in the GM Utes
I do really like both and I’d honestly take both so I can’t 100% take this over the Yukon or vice versa. I love how they make this feel and look really good though.
Looks great, but the screen is a bit, shall we say, excessive. If I were to by one I’d go for the smaller screen. I get basically the same features plus physical buttons. Also, it’s a shame we won’t and never will get the 5.0 Coyote in the Expedition.
This expedition is ok,my personal preference would be a grand wagoneer. Heated seats but no ventilated seats in the back. Zonk alert! Great review you two! God bless you Lori and Steven! You guys are the best!
I've an Explorer ST right now but if I was to upsize again (I had a 2019 Escalade Platinum), it would be the Yukon Denali for me. I don't need to though happy with the Explorer and it fits in my garage. Thanks for the great review as always.
Hey Joe, love your videos and truthful opinions on the vehicle you are reviewing. Question to you do you know if Ford will ever put a hybrid engine in the Expedition??
Another great review Joe!! Is it just me or does that rear wiper blade look kinda dinky-ass looking. Is that even going to clean off the water for any proper visibility for the driver to look through?? 🤔
People dont know that the 3.5l ecoboost is a monster against any of the v8s offered by gm or other car manufacturers. That thing will wipe out those other engines in towing and in power it does lack cool exhaust sound but thats it. The truck interior design is modernized and isnt cramped up and doesnt look too busy. Obviously the navigator is fords luxery brand so it competes with gmc yukon and cadillac escalade.
The previous platinum had massaging seats, but they were activated via the menu - very well could have been there. Curious that you didn't talk about Blue Cruise - unless they are putting the sensors in all the vehicles, this one looked like it was so equipped (you can clearly see the IR in the video).
I'm digging this Expedition Joe. 👌 I really like the changes but compared to the competition, I would go with something like a Yukon or Tahoe. Heck honestly I would just go Wagoneer. Competition in this class is force Joe, and it's getting more fierce in model year 2023. Speaking of which I heard yesterday that Toyota has a new full size luxury SUV coming. I heard it's unveiling at Chicago Auto Show or before it on Feb 8th 2023. It's called the GRAND Highlander. We'll see that stacks up in future. Leaked images are on the web. But great job Joe and Lori 👍
Gonna be too small. It’s a telluride competitor. The Sequoia was supposed to compete in the full size market for Yota. But unfortunately they failed miserably with the new model.
Joe, I would like the grill more if they got rid of those two bars going across. It would also be nice to have true dual exhaust like the Explorer. I agree massaging seats and heads up display should be available.
I thought Ford made a limited Expedition like they did for the F-150. The limited F-150 is the top version and has massaging seats. I like the horizontal screen also and it should have a head up display for that price.
Hi Joe, love the Ford Expedition you know you're doing well I'm life when you're driving the apostle to the full size SUV's but you're going to pay $82,000.00!
Hey, Joe "I would really like to see the video by you in a direct comparison of Expedition vs Tahoe / Yukon / Cadillac Escalade vs Lincon Navigator: Why US Govt agencies prefer GM SUVs over Ford & Lincoln even though Ford F150 is the top-selling vehicle? The vid doesn't need to be a driving review comparison but an argumentative / discussion sorta video on this particular topic. A bag of Lays and a can of Mountain Dew is welcomed. 👊🤛
I just purchased a 2012 Expedition King Ranch EL with only 39k miles that looks like it just rolled off the assembly line. I'll change the oil every 3k miles and I'd bet it'll last longer than these EcoBoost engines.
I've had Yukon's since 2001. The 5.3L V8 has proven to be bullet proof for me so I prefer the Yukon. Also not a fan of that massive looking iPad on the dash of the Expedition. Doesn't seamlessly blend in IMO.
Nice... I have a 2018 Max. Love it. All I would add would be a digital rear view mirror. Pano sunroof runs on plastic tracks... if it breaks, super expensive and may not be covered by your extended warranty... ask.
Yukon Better suv with the entertainment I do not like that big screen and no ventilated seats $82,000 come on Ford don’t be cheapskates like always guy’s great video’s 🇺🇸👍🏻
Raiti's rides got the best reviews in the business for sure. Lots of info with fun commentary. Definitely the best place to go for car reviews no doubt about it. I love the expedition but i would like if they would add ventilated 2nd row seats. Maybe even 3rd row since nobody has done it yet. It is already a expensive SUV might as well ad some more features that the competition don't have. I definitely ZONK the exhaust it is for me the biggest on the expedition. Everything else I can work with. I would like to see massage on both front seats. And the last thing I didn't really like the front when you compare to the Yukon Denali. It use to be a lot more chrome and that was like the signature of the platinum. Thanks for your reviews they are fun to watch and give me the information i need to make a decision
ventilated 3rd row wont happen unless you comission it for a custom sprinter van lmao. 3rd row still an afterthought in many of these SUVs 2nd row i think the europeans are getitng on to it but it will be a while before it comes to this price point
I don't know about this one. Ford dropped the ball with this gen expedition. It looks weird and it doesn't have any advantage over the competition. The yukon denali is much better imo.
It would depend on the trim you got, I believe the Yukon XL SLE/SLT are standard with the 5.3L like the suburban but once you go up to Denali it’s the 6.2L or the diesel like on the high country suburban but it appears you can get any of the engines on the Yukon SLT and up and the suburban LT and up. So they’re identical other than the aesthetics.
I’ve always been torn between the aesthetics of the GM trio and the performance/capability of the Ford/Lincoln. With that said, the Ford duo has gotten much better in terms of quality interior and exterior. As much as I’d like to say I have the need to tow and extraneous amount but I don’t 😂. Since they switched to an independent rear suspension at GM & I’ve been Suburban/Yukon XL crazy for years, more passenger and cargo space, plus I’m partial to the 6.2L. I’m with you on the infotainment, it’s pretty but I don’t see myself loving it 😂. GM still pulls me their way currently. Things could change if I’m able to afford a navigator L but the new Escalade ESV (particularly the V) would most likely pull me back 😂. Great review as always!
Hello guys, I got a question. When you have large family, is 3.5 Eco-boost enough for all? Imagine, vehicle weight plus six people. What do you think? Thank you for everything. You are the best 🙏🙏🙏

Ford did a good job on this to compete with the Tahoe. The Navigator is up next to compete with the Escalade and Grand Wagoneer
The Yukon is calling my name. One you got NA V8 under the hood which automakers are going to small displacement engines. Two you just have a more nice upscale interior in the Yukon then in this expedition. Better finishes and all
Tbh, Ford has had the ecoboost for almost 10yrs now so I don't mind that but the MPG still seems likes it has a V8
@@samlung2724 that's true. It's a big car so fuel economy shouldn't be a concern. You're just getting V8 fuel economy in a twin turbo V6. Not much of a difference 🤷♂️

I prefer the Expedition to the Yukon any day. Great styling and a great interior, love the color of the interior too.
The reference to Nintendo Power Magazine is why Raiti's Rides is the absolute best!
I’ll take the expedition, over the Yukon. For 2 main reasons. Towing, and performance. That ecoboost is a beast!!
But you do know watt will last in the long run that vortec
Ecoboost is a beast bro. My Ford Ecoboost does it all.
This will be my dream vehicle to own Joe.
I can see you driving this one for sure!
My man you are the very best in auto reviews in youtube! Keep up the good work guys !
I agree Joe…….rear armrests are 👍
Great minds think a like!
Another superb video, Joseph. This Expedition is nice, but for me, it's got to be the Grand Wagoneer.
“Power Glove, it’s so bad.”
Good review! Wish they would leave knobs for temp control.

Don’t zonk for not having massage. Ford calls it multicontour with active motion. Platinum is the only trim to have this. Had it since 2018.
Hey Joe, love your videos and truthful opinions on the vehicle you are reviewing. Question to you do you know if Ford will ever put a hybrid engine in the Expedition??

So the platinum doesn’t get the HO raptor ecoboost, but the timberline and limited stealth edition do? That’s a little backwards…
