That’s a cool kit. I always felt that most survivalist edc preppers need to remember that going as light as possible is ideal. But the temptation is to always carry the kitchen sink just because we think we can. Good job!
I agree 💯. Commenters are saying to add MORE, lol. A fishing kit😂. How many guys actually use their fish kit & can actually catch anything with it? More weight/bulk & you won’t carry it.
Another really good video. A knife kit is my favorite kit, and one that I put A LOT of thought in, because it truly is your last ditch kit, and one you will ALWAYS have on you. I'd drop the one inch duct tape and swap it out for two inch. Two inch works MUCH better for pathing small holes in your water bag. I've found that one inch wide tape still tends to leak a little. I think it may be a combo of the plastic is still damp a little from the leak, and then the pressure of the water pushing against the tape that causes it to start leaking after a while. I like Gorilla tape too. It's MUCH better than duct tape. If you can find them, I would drop those triple antibiotic and add in a couple packets of Amerigel. It's 100 times better than anything else out there. A doctor friend of mine told me about it and it's all they use now after surgery and it has cut post op infections down to almost zero he said, BUT it is NOT cheap at around $30 for a ONE OUNCE tube, and why most places do not carry it, but hospital pharmacies do have it, but again, it is spendy. Then again, infections cost even more. I'd slip in 10 or 15 feet of wire. Something that I always have too, is a perfume sample vial of 100% Deet bug juice. I bought some BIG brand new vials off of ebay years ago, and I wrap them with two inch wide duct tape. Now I can use the juice and refill it when I get back home, and it's more than enough to get me through an unexpected night out in the bush without getting eaten alive. I don't like the small packets, because I've opened them up before they're dried out and worthless. With a vial, you know what you have, and it's reusable. Like someone else said about a fishing kit, add 50 feet of BRAIDED fishing line around 20 pound test, a few #8 hooks, a few split shot sinkers, and 8 or 10 Berkley Powerbait Crappie Nibbles. They last years and having bait on hand to fish right away, is like having tinder on hand to make a fire right away. Making these kinds of kits is a lot of fun, and depending on how much time you spend outdoors, pretty important too. Keep up the great work.
DUDE! ☕️We caffeine tablets guys gotta stick together. I’m amazed that everyone in the kit building world doesn’t preach caffeine tabs. Coffee withdrawal headaches? In the bush? Noooo. I use the Horbaach green tea extract 200mg. 300 tablets ran me $19 on Amazon and half of one tab seems to equal approximately 16-20 ounces of proper java. So $19 for 600 coffee-substitute-mornings. The green tea option seems to significantly cut down the zinged out nervy feelings. PS I love the Esse option. Nice choice in blade, brochacho 👍🏼
Great vid! I saw a few items I never thought of before. You should assemble a bunch of these kits (adding in those suggested items that you'd think would be value-added) and sell them!
Thanks. I've had several suggestions to build these kits, which would be fun but just wouldn't be cost effective at this time. Maybe in the future though!
I'd add a tube of chapstick. You can basically use it for everything you use Vaseline for: fire, protect the knife blade, stops small cuts and scrapes from bleeding. You can use them as candles, then use the empty tube to store things in afterwards. Unscented/unflavored works best for those, but you can use flavored as bait for small animals. I really like the sheath/case combo. That mini tool would be perfect to mount on the front of a Kydex along with a stone.
Nice kit. I think one should carry at least a quart of water in a good container. A kit would center on the water bottle rather than the knife. I don't like the flimsy water bags. Red Loctite is pretty permanent. It's overkill if you ever want to take that back apart. Blue Loctite would be more appropriate. Every sort of emergency kit should have a USB phone charger. A cell phone is almost always the most important emergency tool.
All very good considerations. I guess my idea for this kit was something like if you're already bugging out somewhere because the SHTF, then you had to bugout again from your bugout location... this is the kit that would sustain you.
Cool survival knife kit man! I'd add some hooks to use in conjunction with the micro-cord. You can catch some fish and other small animals, like squirrels and lizards.
Architect Field Buddy is an excellent choice. I carry the TOPS Brakimo for the same reason, the low profile. You have an outstanding kit there. 👍🏼👍🏼 Someone suggested adding some small fishing hooks, which is a good idea. They will work with the dental floss as fishing line. I didn’t see any signaling components. You may have room for a dog-tag signal mirror and a small whistle. I personally don’t like button compasses. I have found them too unreliable. If you’re ever in a true survival situation and have to rely on it, be sure to use the stick and shadow method to gauge its accuracy.
Nice kit. Well thought through. (I didn’t know petroleum jelly came or floss in packs, for example. Such a hassle to make your own in mini ziplock bags.)
I love the video. I did a project knife set up kind of like this with a gerber paracord knife. and I also used the wazoo water kit. I also have one in my pocket tin. I might use some of your kit ideas for another project knife kit im working. I was going to say you should add a small tube fishing kit which you can find at survival resources. and wazoo I also have a small needle for direction/first aid/ gear repair. if you get a chance look up the mini match. and with the size of the pouch you could fit a tops survival saw which is very flat. it works really well. If you ever want to more ideas hit me up. Again great job and keep up the great vids and work.

I really enjoy how technical your kit builds are,do you get much time to get out and use some of that awesome gear in the field ?. An instructional video from your perspective would be awesome.
I grew up backpacking and have some military survival experience. These kits are based off my experiences so far. Currently working full time and have an infant at home, but I definitely would like to make more field use videos in the near future. Stay tuned.

I would put a little magnifying glass in this survival gear . . . Because if you have a magnifying glass it can save matches and gas in your lighter and wear and tear on the feral rods . . . The sun is free and it pretty much shines all over the world . . . I would use the magnifying glass as much as possible and just use lighters and feral rods when the sun is not out or if it's raining . . . And you can use a magnifying glass thousands of times . . . I always carry a magnifying glass and I've seen times I wouldn't have my lighter and I'll use the magnifying glass to light my cigarettes . . . That might be funny but it worked and it lit my cigarette .
@@jennyhemfjell8876 . . I have also seen it . . . But wouldn't it just make it a lot easier to carry a little magnifying glass . . . The water and the plastic bag and the water has to be crystal clear and it's not as easy as it looks and in the time it takes you to figure it out if you had a regular magnifying glass you could already have a fire and be roasting marshmallows . . . The 5.5 feels more nimble in the hand and slices better. Being that it’s 3v I’m not worried about strength. Just wish it had the finger choil like the 6.5.
It’s a quality knife, but you get what you pay for. Esee makes some good quality less expensive knives that would fill this role well. This is more just a template for viewers to take and modify for their specific needs.

Morning. Very nice setup. I’d add a wire saw, magnifying lens, pre threaded needle and a fishing kit.
Good suggestions thank you 👍🏼

Very thorough! A small piece of sugar-free gum can be used to plug a cavity if a filling falls out.
In the winter I EDC a knife that size, after carrying for about a week or two you'll be used to it and love it ! Nice addition👍

great combination of survival items. I didn’t see a link for the knife, so ill look that up. Tops make great knives.

Kabar bk2 is around 70.00. Schrade and Condor have 40.00 range knives that will work.
Take the ferro rod off tour knife it will rust it
Seems like a huge rip off for 2' of duct tape and a piece of aluminum foil from Wazoo.
