He's such an underrated and unknown doctor, but is so amazing and deserves more attention than he gets. I actually found him sort of by accident by his audio dramas, and I am SO glad I did.
He's my favourite Doctor as well. The first Doctor I ever saw was 3 but the 8th was the first "New" Doctor I'd seen and it was right at the time that I first got into the show in a big way. I'll always think he's been robbed cruelly of screen time but I'm really glad we now have Night of the Doctor and the Big Finish audios to highlight just how much of an addition to the pantheon he is.

Paul McGann is my favorite Doctor too. The movie was my first exposure to Dr. Who and made me a fan in the first place. I love the audios.
8th is my favorite too, he's just got something i like about him. I wish he had a series, but i love his audios.
McGann is an amazing Doctor. 5 out of 9 items on my Christmas list include his Doctor. Books, Audios and even a Warhammer 8th Doctor figure. The 7th Doctor is my favorite though.

Paul McGann is one of my favourite doctors also! I plan on listening to Dark Eyes when I get it. I don't think many people praise him for this, but he actually played an important role in the history of the show -- He was the first Doctor to kiss his companion! Someone in school heard a rumor somewhere that Steven Moffat plans a miniseries for the Eighth Doctor just to give him more episodes to do... Have you heard anything like this Michael?
Paul was so unlucky not to have more screen time, fingers crossed he makes a cameo sometime in the future

I definitely understand. He's grown on me a lot in the last year. I haven't read any of his books or heard any of his audio stories, but I still admire him as much as any other Doctor. I guess you're on the team that's pushing for an 8th Doctor spinoff series?
The eight doctor is totally my favorite too! Here I was thinking I was the only one!

Now I know I'm not the only one who favourite Doctor is Paul McGann's Eighth Doctor. My reasoning is exactly those you just outlined. Very good choice!
I love Paul McGann as well, he absolutely brilliant as the Doc. I'm sad he only did the movie, which I love and hate very passionately. He had so much potential
Paul McGann is actually one of my favorites too, though I haven't read or heard anything besides the movie & the Last Night minisode
Paul McGann is my second favorite doctor, my favorite being David Tennant with all of the rest tied for third. The TV movie was the first Doctor Who thing I saw!
I just subscribed for three reasons
1) I love Doctor Who and like to know which episodes of classic doctors are the best
2) Your awesome
3) The Eighth doctor is my favourite to, it used to be the Tenth doctor recently mainly because David Tennant is my favourite actor, his costume and his personality, he's my second favourite but the eighth to me has the best costume and when I think of the doctor, he has the personality of my kind of doctor, so want to see more of Paul McGann's doctor in the future maybe a spinoff based off the novels and comics
I watched the 1996 movie for the first time last weekend. I was quite impressed!

Tennant is probably my favourite. For reasons that played a big part in The Day of The Doctor. "The Man Who Regrets"
However, I'm becoming increasingly interested in McGann's Doctor. (I got into Doctor Who during Eccleston's run.) Probably going to hace a listen to some of the audio dramas that you guys suggested.
You should give all the Classic series Doctor's as shot.

I love all of the Doctors, but I guess I lean a little towards David Tennant and Matt Smith (I know, I know, please don't groan). However, Paul McGann interests me a great deal, mostly because I haven't seen or heard of him that much. I've seen him in the TV movie and The Night of The Doctor, but I haven't really gotten to know his Doctor that well beyond those. And for some reason getting a hold of all of those books and audio dramas is a very difficult challenge, and so far the only thing I have heard of him from is Human Resources when BBC Radio 4 Extra posted it a couple of days ago. By this point, my interest is now cemented. I HAVE to know more about this Doctor. He grabbed my interest in both of his on-screen appearances, but now I need to know more about his adventures, to know how he got from the Movie to the Anniversary Special Prequel. And to my knowledge, he's still going, so this is yet another new Doctor that I can get attached to, apart from the upcoming Twelfth Doctor played by Peter Capaldi (say what you will, but he is still the TWELFTH Doctor in my book!). From what I have heard from him so far in Human Resources, he sounds VERY likable and I would love so much for him to be one of my new favorites. I just hope that either BBC becomes more generous and allows fairer and easier access to all this Eighth Doctor material, or somebody gives me A LOT the books and audio dramas, or even A LOT of money to get them all, for Christmas! (hint hint Santa...)

+Geek Crash Course Do any of you guys like Tom Baker? Tom doasn't seem to pop up on any of the groups favorite Doctor lists, there's no real mention of any of his audio work being any good and not much excitement about his Doctor from anyone in the group or any links to interviews with Tom. I do apologize if I'm missing those videos on UA-cam. I do have a lot of respect for all the actors and like most of the Doctors in varying degrees. I also like McCoy and McGann even though Tom has become my favorite Doctor. Nice video and God bless.😀

I kinda feel bad for Tom here because aside from one or two people on this site nobody seems to appreciate much all the years he gave to it on T.V., how much he loves the fans and appreciates them and how much he loved playing the role.
