My problem is with 'new light'! The scripture says... 'The light gets brighter', not NEW. Think about it, if you have a dimmer switch in a living room, as you turn up the light and the 'light gets brighter' does anything in the room become NEW? NO, everything is EXACTLY the SAME, it just becomes more CLEAR and you see the DETAILS better. They are completely misconstruing that scripture as they do with most to serve their own purposes! 🙄🙄🙄
I quit going to meetings for almost three years. Grew my hair long. Got a sports car. One day i saw two elders following me home. They got out of the car and i invited them in. They wanted to know if I'd like to attend that years memorial. I said thanks but no thanks. Then they said the real reason they were there was a judicial committee had been formed. Someone saw me shooting pool with a df'd friend. I laughed and said how can i be disfellowhiped when I'm not fellowshiping? No jw friend of mine had tried to reach out, but my wife was JW. So i attended and brought my df'd friend with me to testify that under no circumstances do we ever see each other. Elders didn't think it was funny. So today I'd just get marked? They also helped my wife move out, unannounced. One day i came home from work and all my stuff was gone. She came back 6 months later with thousands of dollars in debt and everything was ok until it became untenable. It's funny to me how JWs have to have to perfect answer to every single Bible verse and still muck it up.

You're right about your opinion on why these keep changing words. It's because of all of the lawsuits and court cases that are costing them millions! That's the same reason that they stopped announcing, "so and so has been disfellowshipped", because many courts see it as a violation of human rights and the Constitution/Bil of Rights! I've read several commentaries on those involved those legal cases that convinced me. Up til now they say, "so and so is no longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses". Because this statement now leaves it up to the imagination of the congregation as to what really happened; causing the congregation itself to set themselves up as judges over this person. Secondly, they now use the excuse to courts that "this person chose by his conduct, to no longer serve Jehovah. " Which is a blatant lie in most cases! This gets the local elders off the hook for being the cause of people ostracizing the member who is being "removed"! It's kowtowing to legal bull##** to save Watchtower perhaps millions in legal costs! These questions now float in the air over this removed person: Did he renounce his faith in God? in the Bible? or Jesus as his savior? Or did he/she slip and commit a serious sin? Or did the elders fabricate a definition of "sin" not found in the Bible, and enforce their own personal opinions on this member? And was the person practicing the sin or was it a one time thing? Was the person repentant or sorry about the act? And if so, did the elders "set themselves up as judges of this person's life; pretending they can read the heart of that person? THIS IS CONDEMNED IN THE SCRIPTURES!! Romans 14: 2-10;...1 Corinth. 4: 3-6;,....James 4: 11, 12. "Disfellowshipped", "shunned", "expelled", "ostracized", "removed", it's all the same crap, different shovel!!

11 yrs ago when I was a active JW, it was not that hard to find out who was "marked"...its called "GOSSIP"!!!...how did it start? By the specific elders' wife (who gave the talk) and knows for sure who has been marked... the question now is: has that changed?

If a former JW is "removed" from the congregation, then regardless if they're actually an apostate, no one would be the wiser, and JW's can unknowingly invite them to attend congregational meetings and say "hello" to them. But if an JW disassociates himself, he is probably an apostate and no JW is supposed to acknowledge them, even though an announcement is made that he/she was "removed".
You need to learn what an apostate is. There is nothing stopping a disfellowshipped person from attending the meetings. Just because an ex-JW has a difference of opinion does not in itself make them an apostate.
