It doesn’t really matter what the article says, it’s the secret elders book and letters that the elders play by. That article is just to appease the courts.

They know very well witnesses won’t read that box. It will be interesting to see how the elders book changes.

They're telling people that it's a personal decision 'not' to do something. If it was actually a personal decision, it would say, "It's a personal decision 'to do... or not to do...'....." and they would never say that because they are always wanting to control and so them trying to hide this from potential prosecutors won't work.

You are exactly correct! They want to put the responsibility of soft shunning on the individual JW.

9:05: I agree, I believe its a huge change...'divisive talk' is (or was) a disfellowshipping offense. Why a personal decision? Probably, like you said, a JW Lawyer recommendation, (Legal/Service Dept.) That's why this info is found in "Questions From Readers", not in study article. NOT all JW's will notice this all at once....Great video

If it is a personal decision then the elders and Governing Body cannot be held accountable.
    .
It is the same arrangement except the accountability is removed.

    ### Informative Summary of "Small or Huge Change? - Good News for PIMOs?"
    **Overview:**
The video addresses a significant policy change within the Jehovah's Witnesses organization, particularly affecting those who are physically in but mentally out (PIMOs). The presenter emphasizes the importance of this change and its implications for members marked within the congregation.
    **Key Points:**
    1. **Old Policy:**
    - Members could be marked for minor transgressions (e.g., dating unbelievers, drinking slightly too much) without public identification.
    - Marked individuals faced social ostracization without clear communication about when or if they were unmarked.
    2. **New Policy:**
    - Found in the August 2024 edition of "Questions for Readers."
    - Members spreading divisive talk or differing in doctrinal views will not be automatically disfellowshipped.
    - Personal decisions are encouraged regarding social and recreational associations with such individuals.
    3. **Implications:**
    - This change introduces more personal freedom in opinions without immediate expulsion.
    - It is perceived as a legal strategy to mitigate lawsuits related to freedom of speech and religion.
    - The organization can now argue in court that it allows diverse viewpoints without punitive measures.
    4. **Advice to PIMOs:**
    - Keep the relevant Watchtower issue handy to defend against potential disfellowshipping.
    - Cite the new policy to avoid being removed from the congregation for differing opinions.
    5. **Conclusion:**
    - The policy change is likely aimed at protecting the organization legally rather than benefiting members.
    - Many Jehovah's Witnesses might not notice or understand the change due to its fine print nature.
    **Relevant Timestamps:**
    - [02:19](ua-cam.com/video/cIDcJ6e-sNg/v-deo.html): Explanation of marking in the congregation.
    - [05:22](ua-cam.com/video/cIDcJ6e-sNg/v-deo.html): Details of the new policy.
    - [09:35](ua-cam.com/video/cIDcJ6e-sNg/v-deo.html): Using the new policy to avoid disfellowshipping.
    **Video Grade: B+**
    - **Content Quality:** The video provides a detailed and clear explanation of the policy changes and their implications, which is valuable for the target audience, especially PIMOs.
    - **Presentation:** The presenter maintains a clear and engaging tone, ensuring the information is accessible.
    - **Relevance:** The topic is highly relevant to members of the Jehovah's Witnesses, particularly those questioning or struggling with the organization's doctrines.
    - **Depth:** The video covers the subject comprehensively but could benefit from more concrete examples or testimonies to enhance understanding.
This video effectively informs viewers about critical changes within the Jehovah's Witnesses organization, offering practical advice and insights into the broader implications of these updates.

Sounds good news to me. It means you can have a different view to the governing body, without being reported to the elders. That means you are free to talk openly about something you disagree with to other congregants, some of whom may secretly have agreed with you, and now they can talk openly about it to you.

SOUNDS LIKE ...THEY'RE GOING TO BE A BUNCH OF CAUSING DIVISIONS TALKS!! I THINK THATS WHAT THE BRINGING OF MARKING BACK

The issue is, a person who’s PIMO is likely so because they do not want to lose contact with JW friends and family. But the average JW is very suspicious of someone who speaks negatively or have a different opinion. So in the long run, a PIMI person will start to shun the PIMO and use the same excuse that it’s their personal decision to do so.

Encouraging take on it but until I see it spelled out in an elders letter or elders book I’m not convinced haha

It might be meant to work that way, that would be a slight improvement, however I don't think you can safely assume you won't get kicked out, at least yet.
The new marking on individual level though, that's worse than what it was before, talk about divisions in the congregations... it's gonna get ugly in some cases.

Ok, let’s change this statement to political discussion, what if I disagree with (did some divisive talk) to my family, relatives, friends or coworkers about their thoughts of what party (political parties) they prefer in a FREE country? Am I labeled as not good person to have normal association?😅

As I recall, Jesus’ exposure of the truth and the hypocrisy of the scribes and Pharisees, caused divisions in the people. In fact, Jesus HIMSELF said “I came to cause divisions,……!!!!!! Matthew 10: 35-39)
Not because he enjoyed bullying people or watching fights break out! But because he “loved righteousness and hated lawlessness.” Heb.1: 8,9,…. Put those thoughts in your pipe and smoke it; governing body members!

Jack... You are wrong, yes the underline sentence will allow to be a little bit more critical in some congregations, yet if the body od elders want to "remove" you, nothing can stop them. Not even the Shepherd the flock book. They can easily breach the book in many points if they need so, like in my case. If they are friends with the circuit overseer and always there is at least one elder who assdive the CO a lot, so it is a matter of one supportive phone call with CO and you are gone. No matter if have all the arguments, witnesses, bible, Shepherd book at your side... and even your are not technically proven an apostate, they use often the article " things that CAN lead to apostasy" and critical gossip leads to apostasy so they can do it... like on many cases I know.

Ok so which religion do i follow. Most say Jesus is god.Or call God god. All apart from the JW believe when you die you go to heaven. Like Jehovah god wasted his time creating the earth for mankind. I was disfellowshipped once for engaging in fornication which the bible condemns. REGRETTED LEAVING JEHOVAH. Back in the organization Jehovah has blessed me with the love of my life been married now for 22 yrs. All who leave jehovah will REGRET. FACTS. Oh when i left i engaged in some exercise i thought it was only to relax you turns out it was spiriism and i also got DIVORCED. SO ICAN SAY I REGRET LEAVING JEHOVAH

    • @Odstrachudowolnosci
      @Odstrachudowolnosci 3 місяці тому

All religions are nothing but deception.
Even JWs call Jesus a god or Mighty God.
They also believe people go to heaven but they can’t make up their mind as to when Jesus stopped counting 144,000.
There are millions of JWs who left the org and the only thing they regret is that they didn’t do it sooner.
If you need a leash you call religion in order to behave properly, you are not mature enough and in your case maybe being there is a good thing. This way someone will tell you what to do. One day when you realize the whole thing is just a delusion and your sacrifice of time was nothing but a waste, I hope you are not too old. Regret will hit you really hard at that point.
