I am very thankful for the details you share in each video and Absolutely Love learning why you choose certain tools and how they have been very beneficial to help you achieve such beautiful blocks & save you time! Thank you 😊
Thank you so much for the wonderful pattern and the instructions for using this ruler! I have one and was intimidated using it but no more! Thank you so much!❤🎉
Thanks for the great video. I have owned that ruler for years but was disenchanted with it, for whatever reason, when I tried to use it. After watching your tutorial, I may have to find it and give it another try. Love the quilt. Always like new ideas for precuts that I have purchased and have not used. I love your mock up in Starberry, so I may have to purchase that layer cake. It's such a great fabric line.❤️
Excellent instructions. You are a great instructor. Thank you so very much. I love this pattern, you are so very talented and kind to share this with us. Have a great day.
That is the clearest explanation of the four at the time, flying geese method, that I have ever seen. I tried making them that way, and it was an utter disaster. Now I’m going to try it again. Thank you so much, Corey♥️♥️♥️
Thank you for showing and sharing the flying geese ruler. Love your new pretty quilt, too. I can see me making this in my near future. Thank you, Corey 🎉
I love the Ultimate Flying Geese ruler from Creative Grids. I think I got one during BH4 but I didn't start using it till Sewcialites 2 when I did a set of 3" blocks and OMG is it ever great for that! Before Sewcialites2 I was doing the 4 at a time method but trying to line up the 45-degree line on a regular ruler to trim them. This Ultimate Flying Geese ruler is so much easier! And THANK YOU for the free pattern; I love rainbows.
Thanks for the demonstration of the flying geese trim tool. I have this tool and like using it. One piece I had not yet realized, on the last square, lining up the lines with the other triangle helps with accuracy. I will pay attention to this next time I use this tool. This is a cute quilt and I think it would be cute scrappy. Thank you for sharing this pattern.
Corey, your explanation about how to use the Creative Grids Ultimate Flying Geese Tool was fantastic. It was especially helpful for me because I have this tool but have not used it yet. :-D
I love this quilt, Cory, and I can totally imagine it In a Christmas fabric as well, ie: with your Starberry. Your flying geese are so pretty and perfect.
I’ve been using my Ultimate Flying Geese Tool for a couple of years and love it. Just remember to use the tool’s measurement chart before cutting out your fabric to allowing for accurate trimming.
Thank you. I happen to have that flying geese trimming tool. Wasn’t sure how to use it. But now I do. I see this quilt coming to my sewing room very soon. Thanks again.
Wow! Excellent demonstration of the Flying Geese ruler!! Love that you had samples of each step so we didn't have to imagine what you were talking about. Beautiful layer cake quilt. Thanks for the free pattern. You are a joy to watch.
Thank you for the free pattern, Corey. I can't wait to make this one. Also, thank you for the tool demo. I don't always like buying so many different rulers, but this one looks very useful. 😊
I am John the Quilter. Your tutorial was great. I used this ruler for the Barn Star Sampler quilt that I’m working on. The ruler allowed me to make accurate flying geese. Otherwise, my blocks were way off! I researched other rulers, but this one is the best. Thanks!
What a pretty, easy pattern! Thanks! I also have the flying geese ruler, but haven't had the opportunity to use it yet - happy to see you demo it here!
Layer cakes are my favorite precuts. They are perfect for appliqué. I should buy yards of the black polka dot and black stripe fabrics. I consider them basics!
Thank you, Corey!! I LOVE the pattern and I was always wondering about those flying geese rulers. I am going to get one! I also loved the new way of making the flying geese blocks! I always hated making them, but now I think I might enjoy them. You are so wonderful at explaining things and I look forward to your Saturday videos. Have a wonderful and Blessed weekend!
Thanks so much for such a nice comment!...flying geese are one of those quilting units that can feel intimidating and we seem to need to make them quite a bit in quilt making! It's so nice to have tools so we can approach them in a way that is enjoyable. =)
Hi Corey, I have the Ultimate Flying Geese Ruler as well. I love it. I didn’t get to use it very much with Blockheads as I was making the 6” blocks. Thank you for this free quilt pattern. I love how bright and happy it is. I like it just the way it is. 😊 I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend.
You really are a fabulous teacher! You are very articulate and thorough. When you finish your demos I have no questions unanswered and no problem executing what I have just learned. I really appreciate the time you take making your step outs. Thank you so much much for the cute pattern and the demonstration of the ruler. I think you are just GREAT.
I have 2 different layer cakes I’ve been looking for a quilt pattern where I don’t need to cut them into small pieces. I’ve been searching for months so now you have given me the perfect pattern. Thank you Corey.
Thank you for the free pattern & the demo on this ruler. I discovered I have these rulers and your demo will encourage me to start making geese with this method. ❤ no waste!
Thanks Corey for the free pattern. I’ve already purchased the Coriander Colors layer cake and love how you paired it with the black and white dot fabric. I did treat myself to the ruler after watching your demo because….why not?
Thank you for the free pattern Corey. Looks like it will be fun to make. I believe that I have the Eleanor Burns flying geese ruler. I really need to pull it out for future use. See you next time.
Thank you for the pattern! I have used the 4-at-time method to make flying geese in the past, but haven’t used it recently. I first used it YEARS ago - I think it was part of the instructions for an Eleanor Burns quilt. Will have to go back and look to see what tools I used. Happy Quilting!
I love this pattern! I just happen to have a layer cake of Coriander Colors too. Can't wait to make this. You did such a great job explaining the ruler. I've seen them but did not know how to use them until now. Thankyou!!
Thank you so much, Corey! So sweet of you to give us a free pattern - I’m looking for something easy to do and this looks great! Looking forward to getting some Corinder Colors!
The 4 at a time flying geese method results in a lot of bulk where the fabrics overlap. The Crafty Quilter has a tip on her blog under her quilting tips and techniques that helps reduce that bulk. It's a very useful tip!
Beautiful quilt, love easy ad cake, great for large scale prints like tula pinks fabrics
All those favorite large scale prints we don't want to cut up! =)
Thank you so much Corey. I love stars, and I plan to use Starberry. ❤

Fabulous demo❣️. Looks like creative grids has expanded on the original Quilt in a Day flying geese method by Eleanor Burns!
