What a wonderful surprise of Dee and Ryann! I love how Dee gets Ryann out of her shyness in front of the camera. The barn is a dream! So much potential, so many treasures. So happy for your family 🥰
As a massage therapist, I would love a space in the barn! Besides if you rent to wellness practitioners ( as well as artists) you only have to walk out of the chateau for your own massages! 🤗
You need to keep Dee in the videos she is awesome. Ryann did a great job with the spiders. What an awesome space and you are so right a gallery upstairs is perfect and letting other artist host workshops there is a great idea as well as hosting your own. Lot of love to you all.
The outer walls of your barn has so much character… it has that rustic but elegant charm… and such spacious interior. I’m excited for your future plans for the mix use of your barn. 👍 👍 Sarah, it’s so sweet of your Mom and niece to clean the room that Steve intended to be his art studio. 😃 😃
OH I do agree, the outside of the side barn was so sweet, then later when the back of barn, showing that beautiful, large, outdoor covered area! I got so excited and could see a artists conversing with others, while seating and enjoying the views.

Great barn with loads of potential! So kind of Gran and Ryan to remove the cobwebs and sweep up. Little by little -so exciting. Well done Steve and Sarah🙏🏻❤️

Wonderful stunning ,magical place, The sinks are beautful , I can't stop thinking how lucky these buildings are to have found sensible people like you to take care of them ! Lunga vita ! from the south of Italy.
I love your barn. I think that your tractor area would have been the original carriage house before tractors. Then the stables and tack room where the horse harness or saddles would have been kept and maintained. The reason that the carriages were kept in a separate area to the horse stables is that the carriage paintwork (often 12 careful slow drying layers of hand mixed paint finished to a high gloss) was kept away from any animal fumes (urine and stable waste etc) that would have tarnished the paintwork and leather and metal on the carriage. The tack and harness are kept in separate rooms for the same reason. Carriages or horse drawn implements were very expensive to have and to maintain and were extremely valuable items. I have horses and carriages and would absolutely love to have a set up like yours. It's perfect and I am excited for you.
Carriages are works of Art. Till you utilize the space, how about a gallery of Carriages for a year to bring visitors to your Chateau with visiting carriage artists and their Carriages?
That's what I thought also about the barn "Potential." The attic is probably the " hay loft." Where the stable is may be where milking cows were. The metal bowls attached to the stalls are what the cows push down with their nose to get a drink while standing.
What a great job Ryann and Dee did on the studio area. A loving thing to do. Great outbuildings and super ideas for their usage. I love old barns. Looking forward to being a part of your journey. It’s snowing here in Penetang. Hope you enjoy better weather over there. Cheers!
Phenomenal! Rustic and beautiful. Please don't update it. Clean, paint and repair is all that is needed. I get a knee-jerk reaction when I hear the word update. It's double talk for "sterilise and surgically remove all charm." The only thing new it needs is a bathroom facility for when people come for events. Hope you are going to paint the windows and doors that lovely French blue that Stephanie uses at Lalande. Congratulations. What a find. It will clean up well.
You are absolutely right Steve the possibilities are endless.......I love that huge space that takes in the whole upstairs...........Dee and Ryan did a wonderful job with all the webs....good thing it’s them there and not me, I’m cringing in my living room.............have a good week...........Donna in Toronto
Wow! What a barn!! Your helpers are not only sweet ladies but cleaning angels, too! Fix those roof leaks asap because the rain will destroy all that beautiful old wood 🪵 very quickly and it is, as you know, irreplaceable. God bless your efforts!
The barn is really beautiful! I think a lot of people would have just purchased the barn on its own to convert and live in, so it's awesome that it comes along with the chateau. The gallery idea is wonderful, as well as the mixed use artist workshops. I also feel that many artists in various fields would want to find inspiration there, and have their work displayed there too.
Wow… So many possibilities. I can just imagine smelling fresh bread wafting in the air. I think that top floor is perfect for that art gallery you are imagining. But, it could also pivot and be used for an event space, yes? A stage at one end would be perfect for a small band, poetry reading, teaching an art class, while having the ability to store tables, chairs, etc. underneath. And don’t get me started on the stables, tack room and cow barn…. Bovine Bar, anyone? How fun!
I can see why you're over the moon about your property! There is so much character and potential in the out buildings and Dee and Ryann have made a great start! 🇨🇦.
Will you be keeping the single horse stable as is? It would be a charming reading nook if cleaned up, the wood treated and stained with a satin poly and the cobbles cleaned, and sealed. Oh wow! at 5:21....what a beautiful r8stic patio area this could be. Sort of like the ranches we have in Alberta. Maybe build a few Adirondack chairs to remind you of your country of origin, add a few large cushions, maple syrup tea caddy, history books a railing around the posts.....The large space upstairs could be used for a private wing but maybe more for an art gallery or even open art classes year-round for students in graphic arts or other mediums....
WOW!!! What a beautiful property!!! You both have a great Eye!!! Wish my studio had this much potential!!! Very inspirational!!! Love your channel!!!! Have a Happy!!! Toodles from Colorado
Oh such brave girls to clean all those cobwebs and spiders!! Big spiders!! Love the stone floors and hay racks in the horse barn. Thanks for showing us around. Hello from Canada...🍁
Thank you so much for the white lettering on the black background! Now I can read quickly and not miss the beautiful things you show us like this barn! On second floor be sure to leave room for dancing in front of the artwork. Many museums do that now and bring in professional dancers to use the art as inspiration for work they choreograph. Brining different types of art together is very inspiring.
Thank you for the tour Sara and Steve. This was great. I really like the exterior stonework. Oh gosh. The old cow stanchions with the water bowls that have the plunger in them that the cow would press to drink the water. Old school. Reminds me of home. Our barns had the same setup. Gosh, so much you could do with all the space on the 2nd level. An art gallery would be an awesome idea. With all the walls being stone. Love it. Dee and Ryann, you're the best. Steve you must keep that beautiful pink light hanging in the center of your office... hahahahahaha, jk.
Great job Nan and DEE so thoughtful and supportive. 👍😊 Beautiful 🤩outbuildings and they are in such great shape. You chose well. You are right so much potential.🌈 from Vancouver🇨🇦
What a beautiful barn. I understand they have to be made useful but I would love to see these buildings restored to their original state and for us to work around them. I know it is unrealistic but so much gets lost. Looking forward to watching your journey.
I was thinking the same. The fittings seem to be original and in decent condition, so characterful, it would be a shame to strip it all out. Perhaps one could work with them? 🤔
Oooo spiders!! That was a dirty clean up! Hope you gave them each huge hugs & something yummy for supper! Agree that the barn has amazing potential especially a loft gallery.
These outbuildings are wonderful. So much potential!! I love the open space at the outside of the buildings. Depending Steve, you can after sorting out the floor, you can paint outside on a hot summers day, you can exhibitions of all sorts there. The gals did a wonderful job in clearing and cleaning. I would do a better quality staircase, a nice wide one so you can carry the artwork up or down. How about having a music evening during summer time. I am sure local musicians will gladly show their talents and make it a grand evening for all to enjoy. As you say, so much potential. Regards to all and thank you for sharing your exciting and very interesting lives with us. Nice to see you warm hearted people so blessed. Au revoir for now.
Wow - those "outbuildings" are far better than I expected. VERY cool - inside and out. Really looking forward to seeing how you proceed. Enjoying your channel!

Whew, what an amazing ride you’re embarking on! I thought the Château was special but what an added bonus. Big applaud to your mother and niece for their special gesture! Thanks for taking me along on your amazing venture….watching from PA, USA.

Awesome cleaning surprise! Such a sweet gesture! 💕
The outbuildings are just as beautiful as the chateau! even the covered area where Steve was talking is a cool area!
Great video. This will be great Studio. God bless you all and Keepsafe.
Thanks for the feedback and great ideas Virginia!
You are right so much potential.🌈 from Vancouver🇨🇦
love the old details like the old doors, windows, sinks, etc.
Great building and as we already know the first step is always making sure the roof is water tight.
Can’t wait to see your studio set up and all of your paintings! So much inspiration! So kind of Nana and Ryann to clean for you xo
Thank Kiersten!
Oh, the potential! I can't wait to see.
Wow - those "outbuildings" are far better than I expected. VERY cool - inside and out. Really looking forward to seeing how you proceed. Enjoying your channel!
Oh Wow, the barn is beautiful and the exterior architecture just superb, not to mention the interior potential. Steve and Sarah, you’ve hit the jackpot! Whew, what an amazing ride you’re embarking on! I thought the Château was special but what an added bonus. Big applaud to your mother and niece for their special gesture! Thanks for taking me along on your amazing venture….watching from PA, USA.
Don't wait to start a Patreon account ASAP! It can't hurt! Such an amazing outbuilding!
Thanks Alex. We are not ready to commit to products for patrons yet, but thanks for the encouragement!
