Forgot to mention two important things:
- Wheeze is the lead programmer, who has done 90% of the game's code. I'm sorry Wheeze!
- Game's art assets are currently place holders. After being in 3.5 years in development, the game is still pre-alpha, and there's no release date at this moment.

What a shame, I thought when Stouty aligned with the mobius team that they would share the desire for realism and moving away from swing manip. I guess my hopes were misplaced.
Get good bot swing manip is not a bug we're not here to play a game of repostes until someone runs out of stamina
Real sword fighting has hundreds more moves than a riposte and "swing manipulation" literally doesn't exist in reality besides a few debatable special moves.
And I already got good at swing manip in mordhau and I never liked it man, it's why i quit the game even after 400+h
400 hours is not good, you're bad stop coping you're bad at the game.

@@nemer_k yeah but how can you make a swordplay game without swing manipulation? It will be like chivalry 2, not fun to play combat. Real sworplay is too complicated, too different for each matchmaking like whether your opponents wearing an armor or not, or which weapon against which weapon.
No onion eating animations, no swamp bathing... Damn, the shrek animator is doing a poor job
But in all seriousness though, maybe this game could be fun or promising, not hyped but i'll keep an eye on it.
I'm not very interested in it. It's going to be a small-scale ultra-competitive game with limited modes, nothing but melee combat. It's just going to be Mordhau but without the fun and only the competitive. The devs themselves even said they are encouraging swing manipulation as a core mechanic.
Yup. I think of it as other 5v5 comp games like League or Valorant, but just in melee. Sometimes there’s not pure fun, but you’re still attached to the game in some way. We’ll see how it goes.
imo a good competitive game is one of the things this genre needs
I'd like to add on that swing manipulation is essentially the core of this genre, there is nothing that defines it more. Your criticism doesn't make much sense.

No held parry no chambering ehh im good. It being focused on comp is weird too, most people don't care about that in this genre

SBMM is a big no though, it kills both fun and communities, see what happened to FPS games
it’s a subject to change and we do not know whether there will also be an unranked mode. it has its pros and cons.
