My current model of my two express coaches are looking pretty anxious after watching this, those are just stunning, and I’m glad they run well! I appreciate a good TVS build, and a good RWS Build, but I’m not sure if it’s just the Lego or not, but I like the nice blend in all your models, gives them a certain flair and character you don’t get from most other builds. It makes me want to build some of my own soon…
Thanks for the compliment! I definitely get what you're saying about the TVS/RWS blend. Since I design after the RWS illustrations, my models look closer to the TVS than models designed after a character's IRL RWS basis. The TVS faces play a part there too.
@@WoodenToby From the look of it, chains weren't the only thing you used to couple the coaches to Thomas. I assume you used magnets to keep them close together, but not too close.
@@joeleboeuf Not magnets, but I did add some parts so they can be pushed around points and curves. Without those parts, the buffers become entangled and cause derailments.
@@WoodenToby I see, so you used a smooth slide plate piece, with a rounded 2x2, on a technic plate socket, on a 2x2, jumper plate. Very interesting technique.
Looks good, nice speed too. But the Fat Controller has warned Thomas not to race at dangerous speeds! 😄
Thanks Kumata! If anything, Thomas was actually heeding the Fat Controller's warning in this video. At full speed with full batteries, they were flying off the track on the curves!

I think you should make powered rolling stock for the narrow gauge engines
Wouldn't Toby I do have something to suggest if you want any incredible to not have their buffers pressed up against the engines when they're moving I would recommend getting the coupler from the very 1st ever lego train because it's very flexible it's literally a it's 2 1 way tiles connected with a bar in the middle and the best part is it's really seethru So it's really hard to notice at 1st glance
I have a idea for freight trains maybe it can be a cctv van the longer bogey Vans from the tv series from season one

Quite cool. I can't wait to see Gordon/Henry, Edward, Percy, or the other characters of the series. Spencer would be cool but I bet difficult due to the sloped face plate
I do have a Percy, and I'm excited to try out those bigger engines too! My next reveal video may very well knock off another character from that list! 😉
Have you thought about building a location like a station or is that too far out of your scope?
I've for sure thought about it. Something smaller like a signal box would probably be closer to what I can do right now for space reasons.

I Wonder how you would make functioning piston rods work on larger, more intricate engines designs like Henry or Gordon..... will love to see it!
I've done some preliminary design work on Gordon, and right now the rod setup is actually similar to my Percy
Nice. Perhaps you could make Edward the Blue Engine out of LEGO, and create the runaway scene from the Season 2 Thomas story, Old Iron.
While it's not Old Iron, I will say I filmed a Lego scene recreation as part of the next reveal video!
This makes me realise I'm yet to have my own models of these girls. Yours are a spectacular recreation of the RWS Annie and Clarabel. Good job mate!

Wouldn't it make more sense for Clarbelle to be motorised because in the rws she has push pull Aquitment.
It works best to motorize the carriage immediately behind the engine

How do you couple up to the trains
I use the 5-link Lego chains, plus a few additional parts so I can push trains without derailing. I'll post a picture to my UA-cam Community tab and Twitter since several people have asked.
