Enormously beautiful and talented. I wish she still did studio recording. Not only has modern country music sank into the pits but it dragged country TV down with it. I loved the old Ralph Emory Show on the long gone Nashville Network. I guess it's Ok I'm in the twilight of my life. I just couldn't live another full life without Classic Country.
Get on Facebook, Suzy Bogguss Music , she has wine down Wednesday every Wednesday at 5 pm central time. Man you are missing out. She also is currently on tour with Kathy Mattea , and also on tour with Pam Tillis and Terri Clark. I follow her. She is still relevant
Suzy's version establishes her ownership of this song. Vocal power, graceful intonation , delicate lyrical expression. Suzy, you are unequaled! Thank you.
+ Mark Simko : Someday Soon" is a song composed by Canadian singer/song-writer Ian Tyson. He recorded the song with his wife, Sylvia Tyson, as the duo Ian & Sylvia in 1964. Although this version was not released as a single, the song has been recorded by Judy Collins, Moe Bandy and Suzy Bogguss, all of whom had chart success with it. Collins's version was issued as a single to the pop format, while Bandy's and Bogguss's versions were hit singles on country music radio. The song has also been recorded by the Kingston Trio in its 1965 Decca album The Kingston Trio (Nick-Bob-John), Crystal Gayle, on her popular 1978 album When I Dream, the Canadian alternative country band One Hundred Dollars, on their 2008 album Forest Of Tears, and Lynn Anderson on her 1970 album "Stay There Till I Get There".
I think she's gorgeous, and her voice hauntingly beautiful. But we're all human. Everyone misses notes, as Suzy demonstrates in the final note of this recording. She laughed it off like a champ though.
I swear that's the first time I've ever heard Suzy miss a note---still does not detract from any part of this clip! OMG those so very expressive eyes and that smile---heart melting!! 🥰 😍
And such a nice and sweet person too. I met her at Michael Martin Murphy's Westfest in Red River, NM sometime in the early 90's. She was shopping for a leather jacket with fringe on it. She apologized for having to start Aces over again. Said she was not used to performing without her band. I told her don't worry about it, it ended up being the best song. She was just so pretty and unpretentious and nice I was completely smitten. And of course her singing was and is amazing.
I hear ya. If a steel player is playing the steel and other steel players let the steel play them, you will know the best. Emmons wrote the book on it and guys like Sasser can do it almost as good. IMO.
I miss the Nashville Now band. Fred, Wimpy, Norm Ray, Whitehurst, Linneman, Meade, Hoot Hester, that's all I can remember. Some were also in the Waking Crew with Ralph, mornings on WSM radio and Channel 4 TV. They were great.
I'd never heard Judy Collin's version of this song the first time someone played Suzy singing it in 1992. I immediately fell in love with Suzy and this remains the definitive rendition of "Someday Soon". I've been a huge fan of Suzy ever since.
One of my favorite songs! Suzy Bogus sings it so beautifully....& she is so damn cute too!! I suggested this song to the lead vocalist in the band I'm in.
Effortless and classy! I hadn’t heard of her until today when Simone was telling me how well she does this song. It’s one of my absolute favorites but now she is, too! Perfection!
Spectacular version of this iconic country song. Suzy Bogguss' crystalline voice is so heartfelt. The back up band is top notch, especially the pedal steel, as would be expected in Nashville.
Like Kitty Wells like Patsy Cline like Emmy Lou Harris Like Connie Smith and Patty Loveless wooooooo 🎶🎶🎶 what a voice wooooooo 😭🎶🎶🎶 Shine Suzy Shine darlin wooooooo 🎶🎶🎶 Johnny from Alabama 🎶🎶🎶
An absolute angelic voice! Soon underrated. She still is one of the best that was, is and will ever be. We all LOVE you Suzy. I remember when you won the Horizon Award--such an amazing voice--nobody can hold a candle to Suzy.
Suzy B sings this rodeo ballad arguably among the best. She romanticizes the western rodeo circuit and excites the hearts and minds of both cowboys and cowgirls and magnetically charms all of us!! Like a songbird she sweetly sings!!!!!!!
Hard not to imagine doing a Triple Step with her across the dance floor. Such a smooth song, a beautiful voice, can really mellow the moment. No doubt this is her song.
She does the Judy Collins version justice........a great rendition of a song with real sentiments. Used to play this with my old girlfriend............really loved playing this song with her. Kae, I sure miss you!!
I wore a special Suzy Bogguss shirt that I had made to one of her concerts and she signed the back of it afterwards. I've got it in a frame now along with a picture of her signing it.
Suzy just radiates class and elegance- and she can sing circles around the lates crop of blondes in nashville. she is wonderful in concert as well, she makes time for her fans. like I said class act.
In my opinion, Suzy performs the best version of this song of all who have recorded it. She not only has a pretty voice, but a pretty face to match. God Bless, Jeff :)
I grew up on the Judy Collins version of this song and didn't discover the Suzy Bogguss cover until recently. I'm still partial to Judy Collins - and also Ian & Sylvia's original version, which I also discoverer just within the past several years - but this IS really good, too ...
I've seen the original, and always liked Judy's version, and Brooke Aldridge's big voice is well matched with this great song, but the notes Suzy breaks out are THE BEST. I heard this one last, but it was worth waiting for.
If God had ever made a more beautful woman or a more beautiful voice....its in Heaven with Him
Yep❤️
Absolutely beautiful
Yes. Judith Durham, lead singer of The Seekers died about a year ago. But Suzy is fabulous.
No more calls please. We have a winner...🎵
I loved Ralph Show - I am in twilight also
This is a very beautiful rendition of this song. Beautiful voice is what makes it so special. I love it.🥹❤️
Gorgeous singing and singer. And that steel, Wow.
That's Larry Sasser he passed away a couple yrs ago.
This song has been sung by many great voices. Suzy set the benchmark
She owns it .
Ms. Bogguss, You are a Queen....
She’s so talented and has a great voice. I miss good country music like this.
There's plenty of music like this right now - Mandolin Orange, Avett Brothers, Hem, Smooth Hound Smith, etc
I'm with you on this Jeremy

have always love Suzy. she is Gorgeous along with the voice of a Angel.
I've never understood why she isn't a bigger country music star. Great talent.
It's a very tough business.
She was!
This was way before my time but I'm blown away how naturally beautiful she was and paired with such an amazing voice. Wow
Ian Tyson wrote this. I have heard several versions of this song and Suzy by far is the best. She just sings natural. Just natural.
What a song great singer.
I saw her in McAllen in concert many yrs ago. I yelled, I love you Suzy! She looked at me and smiled!
She is stunning.
Indeed she is.
Very pleasing to the ears and eyes!
This is my favorite version of this song. All the musicians are great and her and her voice are so beautiful.
Suzy's version establishes her ownership of this song. Vocal power, graceful intonation , delicate lyrical expression. Suzy, you are unequaled! Thank you.

So true!!
@@hunggrapes5532 yes we know
@@hunggrapes5532 Suzy's version has a slight magic to it though.
@@sergeantmasson3669 Slight? I'd say overwhelmingly magic.
This song was on the radio when I started driving big trucks.. Brings a tear to my eye every time.
This version is perfection.
Beautiful voice. Beautiful face. Beautiful soul.
I think she's gorgeous, and her voice hauntingly beautiful. But we're all human. Everyone misses notes, as Suzy demonstrates in the final note of this recording. She laughed it off like a champ though.
Actually loved the fact she did that. Just made her character that much more beautiful
Back when singers sang.
Yes I got that, dry note. But it’s o great performance.
I swear that's the first time I've ever heard Suzy miss a note---still does not detract from any part of this clip! OMG those so very expressive eyes and that smile---heart melting!! 🥰 😍
LOV HER SONGS
Such an amazing vocalist and performer. This was a golden time for country music.
I fell in love with Suzy when this song came out and so wanted to move to Colorado because of it. Thanks for takin' me back.
Clear powerful voice, and a beautiful lady.
Lovely lady and beautiful voice, it rings like a bell.
I love her voice and she is very beautiful
Inner and outer beauty

True country, way to nail it Suzzy. Hats off to Larry Sasser on the pedal steel you nailed it as well my friend.
judging from the number of people who have covered this song this is by far the best arrangement, Suzy Bogguss you do it best,
Agree!
True. She absolutely owned this song and made it her own.
I love her version the best too...
Me too.
I always get a thrill when she hits that high note singing "My father says he that will leave me crying"!
It doesn't get any better than this !!!!
Love you Suzie !!2💗💗💗
What a talented and beautiful woman.
Has there ever been a more beautiful voice?
The answer is no.
Never
Absolutely wonderful:)
The steel guitar player is Larry sasser fondly referred to as wimpy. Totally nails it, better than any other version. Best version ever.

Fred Newell on mandolin and he’s a great session player too, I’ve worked with him a lot.
I'd never heard Judy Collin's version of this song the first time someone played Suzy singing it in 1992. I immediately fell in love with Suzy and this remains the definitive rendition of "Someday Soon". I've been a huge fan of Suzy ever since.
ditto for me
A pretty song from a pretty lady. Thanks for posting.

Just saw her live at Riverbend in Chattanooga. Her voice is more beautiful than ever - if that's possible. She's absolutely wonderful.
One of my faves by Suzy, and rendition of this song.
Spectacular version of this iconic country song. Suzy Bogguss' crystalline voice is so heartfelt. The back up band is top notch, especially the pedal steel, as would be expected in Nashville.
The guy that wrote the song was a Canadian folk singer and legend, RIP Ian Tyson.

Overwhelming.❤❤❤❤❤❤
Such a pretty lady, and so talented! Ms Judy Collins, I'm certain, is proud!
I grew up on the Judy Collins version of this song and didn't discover the Suzy Bogguss cover until recently. I'm still partial to Judy Collins - and also Ian & Sylvia's original version, which I also discoverer just within the past several years - but this IS really good, too ...

When country was still country ❤
