  • I show you how I like to smoke some pork spare ribs on the offset smoker with some good red oak wood. These ribs have such an awesome sweet heat taste! Give this recipe a try and comment how it goes!

      Thanks a lot bud! Yeah that seems to be the basic wrap for a lot of KCBS too. Can’t go wrong with butter, honey, and brown sugar 👌🏻

    Total time in the pit 3 hours?

      Around 3 hours and 15 min is the usual. 2 hours in the smoke then finish out in the wrap. But just remember different racks will finish at different temps depending on fat content and thickness.

    Do you like red oak wood over post oak

      I like the red oak a lot for pork. It gives it a really good taste. Post oak does better with beef. But you really can’t go wrong with either. I just have a ton of red oak around my house so it’s a lot easier to use that

      @@BBBarbecueandPits 👍👍another question? Would you separate your different types of oak wood or keep them all together for smoking meats.

    • @BBBarbecueandPits
      @BBBarbecueandPits  Рік тому

      @@ignoranceisnotatrend4669 so I separate them by species because each different oak has a different flavor profile it adds to whatever you are cooking. I’m actually about to start filming building a wood shelter to separate the different types. Stay tuned for that!
