Thanks for helping “novice” smokers take our first steps, man. “Give a Man a Fish, and You Feed Him for a Day. Teach a Man To Fish, and You Feed Him for a Lifetime”
I have literally watched this video and done this process five times over the years. I just enjoy watching the video every time I do it to make sure I’m doing it right🤣
A tip about the paint on your side firebox burning off: try seasoning it with cooking oil (canola works great) like a cast iron skillet while it's hot. Just put a generous amount on a folded-over paper towel and rub it down about once or twice an hour. The oil will start to smoke as the heat bakes it on. The end result is a nice, shiny black rustproof coating. Works better than high temperature wood stove and automotive paints, which I previously tried, to no avail.
Just want to share that I’ve been watching your video religiously for the past 2 years to do my ribs. Thank you for sharing your recipe. Mine are always coming out awesome! 😊👍🏼
