That sure is enthusiastic begging.
Look at those little wings go. So cute
Oh.. it's too lovely.. I also have some experience with the same breeding. It's so amazing a little cute baby getting larger at last..
im glad he/she made it.
This is the second birth i'm dealing with, and the first one gone really bad because mother gave up on the babies and they died. I dont wanna loose this one too :( Since she hasnt lost her appetite, i think i still have a chance to see her grow up in a beautiful bird like yours
so adorable! !
Ultimate cutness !
Hahah I love the crop.
very cute pet
Good job
Ooo cute
yes i did, the bird is okay and very lively, i fed him mixed veggies like carrots and corn and in a day he's eating it by himself, even when i'm preparing his food he just flew on my hand like he can't wait to eat it. he is even pecking the rice i was eating for lunch (more like ask to share it). hehe, even in dinner just now he ate the strips of veggies left on my plate
ahhh he's so cuteee :D
he seems so happy flapping his wings when you're close to him
I hand reared a Cedar Waxwing, her name was Hannah 😊. She is now back in the wild hopefully Thriving!
awww :)
Hi, sorry for the late reply, just let nature take its course, if the male does not want to breed, that is okay, he will when he is ready. If the female lays unfertile eggs let her lay on them until she gives up and remove them. She will keep on laying them if you take the eggs away too soon and can get very sick.
i found a baby maya bird yesterday, it looked about 4-5 weeks old, and the only things so far that the baby ate were mashed grapes and bananas, is that ok? he/she's fine this morning, playing around so far on my keybord :)
hi it's okay. by the way the bird is fine, he likes eating mashed fruits and veggies even rice. i'm surprised that he got used to humans in only a day. he's now flying around the house but lands on my shoulder if he's tired
if I may ask a few questions..at what age did you start hand raising the canary and is there issues around keeping the bird warm? Thanks for your help
up to how many times per day you feed him. and up to which age.
I want to get my canary chick used to being held n stuff..Their mum n dad r taking great care of them so I dont wanna take them away..How can I do this?
i'm so glad about your baby canary! how is he doing?
I have a baby 12 days old, and his mother stopped caring about her, so i'm hand feeding her. How often should i do that? When her mother was feeding her, i was checking her every 4 hours to see if that bag on her throat was full, if not i was giving her some food.
Now every 4 hours there's nothing in there. Should i feed more often??
COULD YOU TELL ME WHAT ARE YOU FEEDING HIM/HER?
what are u feeding it?
So what did you feed ???
hi, I have a one day old baby canary the parents died today, I don't have a incubator, I'm worked sick for this little creature. what should I feed it? at what time? and how would I keep it warm?
Hi, I fed my baby a hand feeding formula from the pet store. I am sure there are videos on how to keep the baby warm but what I did is put the baby in a plastic container such as Tupperware and line it with Kleenex. I put a heating pad under neath the container. Don"t let it get too hot, put it on low . I had the container inside another container called a critter keeper. I used a small cloth to cover the top leaving a small opening for air. I used a thick layer of Kleenex on the bottom of the container to keep the baby from getting too hot on the of the container.
That is a good idea, but take them out right away so she does not incubate them. If she lies on the fake ones then replace them with the real eggs and see what happens. Also make sure the male is mating with her because female lay eggs with out mating and they will be infertile. The two should be in the same cage.
When we feed a bird with a dropper the way you're doing, what are the chances the liquid feed will go down their trachea? I've heard scary stories of birds getting liquid or food into their lungs, and it causing pneumonia or preventing them form breathing that they don't survive.
Loveofpets where are you from?
Did you have to use any type of heating lamp to keep it warm?
I used a heating pad on low under his container. I put paper towels on the bottom of the container and then put the baby bird in the smaller container with kleenex and changed the kleenex when dirty. You have to make sure they dont overheat.
Hi, what is "that" thing in your hand you use to feed the baby with?? :-)
Eye dropper
Hi my friend has a baby hand fed cockatiel and it has dried egg mash stuff stuck under its beak, chest and face. Can you please tell me how to remove it. I've tried soaking it alittle bit and wipe his beak after eating but its super stuck. What should I do?
Hi, soaking it is the only way to safely remove it.
@@Loveofpets Its super super stuck into the baby feathers like really cememnted in. Should I try help to snip the pieces off? Or is there a solution that can help break it down better that wont harm the bird?
Hi, I need to hand rear two baby canaries. they are 2 days old. Could someone tell me how often do I need to feed them? for instance the forst week of life every 1'5 hours, second week every 2 hours...etc...thank you sonmuch !!!!! Love this channel..congratulations from Spain!!
My reply could be way too late but in general the feeding intervals time gets shorter as the baby bird grow, so if you start at one hour then it'll be less time after a week, usually the chix will open their mouth if they're hungry if not they'll just not eat or eat a little bit
thank you so much
Hi! What are you feeding him? Looks like raw egg? I need to try to feed a sick baby canary because it doesnt look like mom is doing it anymore 😪
Hi, I am feeding a commercial hand-feeding formula for baby birds from the pet store. Check your local pet stores or search online for the formula.
May i ask what you feed them so i can do it feed 3 baby baby Canary Birds...
Hi, I feed Kaytee Exact Hand Feeding Formula. I was going to post a link from Amazon but couldn't find one.
How often do you feed hatchlings? Every 2 or 3 hrs? What about night time? Do you let them sleep or feed them?
Hi, I fed almost every hour or when the baby was hungry for the first week. I woke up during the night to feed. The night time feedings eventually stopped. I would get up at 6:00 in the morning and the last feed at 11 or 12 midnight. As the baby grew the feedings got further apart. I can't remember what age for how many feedings but basically I fed when the baby was hungry and checked on her every one or two hours.
Thank you for your reply and for the great tips. I wished I had your tips when I tried to rescue 3 baby birds in June. Sadly they all died. I really wanted to see them grow up like yours if I knew what to do. Very useful tips for future use if I have to save any babies again.
Hello what if the canary baby has air in his throat? Please help
I’d appreciate the help.
hello , how often did you have to feed him per day , every 2 , 3 , 4 hours ? please let me know.... thx
+Mustapha Alkhafaaf Hi. Its depends on the age of your baby bird.
What age is your bird?
4 days , thanks
+Mustapha Alkhafaaf I offered food every hour or two and then went to 3 or 4 hours. Whenever the crop is empty that's when you feed. I fed through the night for the first week or 2 if the baby woke up crying.
Check on the baby hourly to see if begging but make sure crop is empty first.
I hope this helps.

Grate info many thanks , dose that mean I need to leave the light on for them during the night (for the parents to feed the chicks )... by the way I want to do this on the day of the last egg when it hatch to avoid the smaller chick from a possible starvation ... cheers
+Mustapha Alkhafaaf You can leave the light off. Most of the time parents don't feed at night. Its only good if you have to hand feed. The parents start feeding very early in the morning so they should have natural lighting. No cover on the cage and no curtains shut.
So if you want to sleep in good luck. Lol.
They start to feed as soon as the sun comes up.
What did you feed him?
Hi, I fed my baby bird this formula amzn.to/2QAMOjU
Is she still alive ?
Should i keep giving normal seeds to father and mother canaries?
Hi, unfortunately she passed away last year. Parent birds can be fed their normal seeds and much more such as fresh greens every day along with egg food to feed babies. I fed my parent canaries shredded carrots, peas, corn, cucumber, broccoli, quinoa, brown rice, dark leafy greens, millet, egg food and pellets. I feed most of this food year round except for egg food.
@@Loveofpets im sorry. And thanks for the tip.
I have two canary couples, both their first chicks died each aftet 3 to 4 days after hatching.
Now 1 has their second nest hatched since sunday, and im paranoid and afraid they will die too.
I five them two lettuce papers each day, with a half boiled egg, and a special paste.
I bought a canary book,it says i should boil their seed mixture in water, clean it and serve it to the parents, same for bread. I did as advised BUT THEY never got near that...
If you have any other tips i will gladly hear them. Thanks again.
Hi there,
Can you please tell me how many times a day do you need to feed a baby canary at 15 days old? Thank you.
Hi, usually every two hours is best to feed the baby canary. Do the last feeding at 11:00 to 12:00 at night and the baby should sleep through the night. Wake up at 6:00 in the morning for first feeding.
Thank you

Don't leave babies from mtoher and father before they are 35 days old. My canary is very friebndly with me and we live together during all day in my house but ı get it from brothers andsisters after he is 45 days old. 45 days old is enough for great training.
Yh
Please don't do it for being cute, you could handle them and talk to them when they are babies and they will not be afraid of you when adults. If you have never hand fed before it is a very difficult and time consuming job. My canary only lands on my head of shoulder and never my hand. If you really want to then find an avian vet or breeder to show you how to hand feed. You will have to be home with the bird all day for feeding.
