I'm 41, 6'4, 280 pounds, a former athlete, work out 6-7 days a week, and have been on TRT a year and a half and it has been a total game-changer for me. At 38-39 years old I started noticing my energy, enthusiasm, and motivation we lower than normal. A co-worker who was a few years older than me shared he was feeling the same way but got his testosterone checked and started TRT and was feeling 10-20 years younger. I got checked and found out my T was super low. Energy, strength, motivation, focus, muscle mass, and sex drive all went up. I didn't lose weight but put on 15-20 pounds of what I muscle over the last year and a half. I feel phenomenal, I look much younger than 41 and am in the best shape ive been in since college. Huge advocate for TRT for men that feel like they've lost a step.

I felt like shit for years. Prior service PTSD, depression, Anxiety, insomnia. Tried to get my shit together on my own first. Started working out, eating cleaner stopped drinking booze so much did this for two years. Didnt see much difference and actually felt even more ran down. Had my T checked turned out it was really low. Got on TRT and about 2 weeks into the mental health benefits where almost instant. Best damn thing ive ever taken for mental health and insomnia. I sleep like a baby now. I have motivation and energy and just feel a hell of a lot better overall.

My only regret is not getting labs done BEFORE I built the habits and THEN started trt. Brief recap of my "journey... 5 years ago was obese 300lbs with bad anxiety and no direction. Got my nutrition figured out and got down to 185lbs with diet and exercise which took about 18 months. Found Mark and Crew, got serious about training consistently and adopting good habits. Build myself up to about 205lbs. Got labs done and decided to get on TRT (at 37 years old). Weight went up to 225-230 but waist is still almost the same as it was at 185, all my pants still fit around the waist but are tighter in the thighs from legs getting bigger. My labs are better now than ever. Lifts have all gone up, sleep has improved, motivation is higher, attitude is more positive and optimistic. Please listen to these guys when they say build the habits first. Test will amplify what you already are, so be who you want to be prior to getting involved with hormone optimization and then watch yourself grow physically and mentally in the right direction. Thanks MBPP for always spittin hot fire and dropping knowledge bombs for the masses, love you guys!

Great video, thanks. I feel manly just watching you guys. I'm starting TRT this week @ 61 yo. It has taken me more than a year to try and persuade my doc and then switching to a doc in the same building and practice to finally get on it. It's the gel that I'll be taking, Testosterone PMP 1.62% 75G. The last bloodwork I did was 288 testosterone, serum & free testosterone was 5. I'm at 175, thin build with a big belly. I have a serious lack of motivation and drive so I'm really hoping this works for me. I have early stage COPD and I want to feel alive in the last stages of my life.

I used to have panic attack, social anxiety and major depression. I hid it from the Army for 8 years than finally sought help. I was put on multiple SSRIs, multiple Benzos, sleep medication, and finally an anti psychotic. All in all about 8 medications all the health system did was increase doseage and add to it.
In the end, I was in worse shape than I was when I sought help and was ultimately medically discharged.
After watching podcasts like this I saw a story I could relate to. I went and got my blood work done and my test levels were horrible I only remember my total number which was 142.
The very next day after my first injection I noticed an immediate improvement in well being. I talked to my physician and was told it was a placebo effect, I asked where the F was the placebo effect when he placed me on and increased multiple medications and doseages.
I'm off all my medication i just take test cyp and haven't felt this good in decades.
If you were or are in an environment where TBIs are possible and you have psychiatric issues, please way getting your blood work done and seeing where your levels are.
I used to think losing the career I loved as the worst thing that happened to me its now the opposite.

Mental clarity and not feeling a natural confidence that left years before trt. I'm not sure about the man who commented but I'm sure it's along the same lines. Drinking daily, smoking cigarettes daily, eating whatever and just not taking care of my mental health. And I damn near died. My blood pressure went through the roof and heart palpitations. I quit TRT cold turkey for 3 months and really got my habits in check. No more drinking smoking and got on a good diet. it’s a COMPLETELY different experience. If you get sick you don’t refuse treatment “to do it the natural way” and potentially get even worse, I reckon use all the help and support available to live your life optimally! Great discussion as are the many others I have been watching on your channel. I appreciate all the great info. I am 54 and been doing TRT due to loan test for 9 years now. I had terrible habits up till the last couple years but can't say I am 100% better but way better with eating low to no carbs and getting more sleep. I do not lift weights or do much exercise which I know is a problem. I didn't know about the testicle size loss when I got going with this and a couple years ago thought maybe I would stop TRT altogether in an effort to recover size and see if my body would be able to product its own Test. That didn't go well so I went back on TRT. I use the gel at a lose dose and been taking a bunch of supplements. While I show my Test is higher ( recently 450 to 500, I am wondering if these supplements are even needed? Also, if there is anything else to consider to get things back to normal in the genitals area as I am now getting back into a relationship with someone and its not going well in that department. Appreciate any and all assistance. Thank you.

In a nut shell go on the lowest dose you can while still feeling great and eat Whole Foods. Diet is the main part of the equation. Get plenty of sleep. Ive been on TRT for over 10 years and no looking back. Started at 200mg and found shooting twice a week at a dose of 120mg if the best for me. Don't stress over the labs if they are off a bit your body will talk to you. When you hit that sweet spot you will know and don't change anything. It takes about 3 weeks when you change your dosage to feel the affects. Im 60 yrs old now and can run and out work most teens. My wife is happy and the morning wood yes the ole morning wood if you wake up and the wood is there you have hit your sweet spot. Your dick says a lot about your health.

I like hearing other peoples experiences with trt.
I’m only 36 and had a total testosterone level of 230. I was asymptomatic so I had no clue. It took them about 4 months to find my optimal weekly dose of cypionate (injection) and I don’t really feel any difference to be honest.
However I was able to grow a full beard which was nice because I could never do it previously. If anything I may have shed a few pounds and become a lot leaner all over but particularly around my waste and hips and neck areas. I’m running only 210mg weekly
They also started me on a 10 week deca cycle (200mg per week with the cypionate) and I’m 5 weeks in.
Huge differences now between the 2 compounds. Curious about anavar with test next.
No prior use of anabolic compounds. Interesting stuff for sure.

I have learned that its not just about Testosterone. Estrogen level is also key. As Testosterone increases so does estrogen. This causes ED. Get estrogen checked as well and take blockers as needed.

    • @joshuadamaceno725
      @joshuadamaceno725 9 місяців тому +1

AIs/blockers can often be problematic for health. Unless your estrogen is through the roof you should be fine while on TRT it’s expected that your estrogen will be slightly higher since your testosterone is also towards the top if not above the reference range. Too little estrogen can also ruin your libido and estrogen is neuro protective and cardio protective. Your heart, brain and bones need estrogen. Plenty of people are able to get rid of blockers by increasing their dosing schedule from once a week to 3 times a week or every day.

I got my results back yesterday. 187. I am 42. I have the testosterone level of a 98-102 year old male. I used to have all of these habits. Eating well, going to the gym 4 times a week, but the last couple of years I put on 30 pounds (as a spouse effect of taking Lexapro) which I can't seem to lose no matter what, and I have ZERO energy. I mean, NONE. I go to the gym, walk in the door and walk out. I walk around the block a few times and I am dead tired. I lay on the couch at any time of day and I am asleep within three minutes. This is not normal. I am not me. I have tremendous brain fog which makes daily activities very difficult to accomplish. I am not me. I hate this. I shouldn't feel this old at 42. 42 is not old.
I am supposed to start TRT next week. 100ml shots, once a week. Any advice?

    • @Bren689
      @Bren689 4 місяці тому

@beachlife4704 respectfully, that dosing/injection schedule is barbaric.
Injections need to be administered much more frequently. Try AT LEAST twice a week (Monday AM / Thursday PM). It'll give much much much more stable blood serum levels of testosterone and estrogen. High fluctuations will very likely be the cause of your acne.
If you can inject 3 times a week, or Every other day, that's even better, and likely every day injections will be even better than that.
Tey for twice a week and leave it for about 6-8 weeks, get full bloods done and assess how you feel.

Posting my results. 41yr old, TRT for a year and a half, 2x per week SUBQ dose. Messing with dosages got me from about 300 (non-trt) to 800-1000. Obviously felt better at around 1000, but also more side effects. Blood pressure went up, hemacrit/hemaglobin steadily increased, face has been trending more and more red. I went on TRT in preparation for Achilles reconstruction surgery, and hoping to use it to help rebuild muscles. Unfortunately the achilles reconstruction went wrong, and I needed to have it re-done. Basically completely sedentary for a year and a half while on test. Other than some increases in mental health, much higher libido, I have not seen a lot of the advantages of TRT. With that said, I was not in a healthy enough place to optimize it on my end. I am off TRT as of this week due to BP and lab results. Going to do some BP med adjustments, therapeutic phlebotomy, and try some intermittent fasting to get some weight off quick. Once my labs stabilize I will probably return to TRT.

54:55 - only good takeaway speech of entire ep. Anyone on TRT before 40 were the same kids that demanded Game Genie from parents to win at every Nintendo game before trying honestly. Go over to Eric Bugenhagen and give yourself a little lesson on MINDSET. Can't spell lazy-corner-cutter without TRT. 🤓🤓💪💪

Similar issue and I was also hesitant to use Accutane. But seen a recommendation for a dermatologist to just use a minimum dose of 10mg/day for 6months. I noticed very few of any side effects, dry lips is the main one. But it worked well and I tried a lot of other things before using it and nothing else really helped.

Affording trt is the thing. You literally have to go through an trt clinic likely.
Insurance never covers any of it, and hospitals wont ever prescribe it. Pretty much common knowledge that when you age as a man your t levels will drop. I dont know why they wouldnt want a bigger push for hrt in hospitals. Baffles me!
Im just going to run enclo and hcg.
My labs were 2000 before my insurancevand after i still owe 735$
I can literally buy a years worth of test for that in these streets 🤣

What levels would you aim for? I know I am 29 and have been in the high 200's to low 300's, but that's been considered normal range from my doctor, but I feel pretty shitty. I have decent habits, but it's hard feeling so tired all the time (also had hypothyroidism, but that's finally getting addressed) that it does make it hard to stick at things at a higher intensity which is where I'd love to be at.
Not sure if I'd be able to get a prescription elsewhere with it being low normal as my PCP says it's fine.
