    I did itt!!! I successfully flew my first full route in which I programmed the departure and arrival approaches in the FMC and landed with an ILS approach. It was EHAM to LKPR. Thanks a bunch.

      That's awesome to hear! Congrats and you're welcome! 👍

    The flight went flawlessly and the plane landed itself. I recorded the last few hundred feet through the landing to a full stop. I am going to master this flight and write down notes until I can do the flight without watching the video. Then I will plan my own flights and eventually add a little more complexity and learning exactly what all the numbers mean and such. Thank you.

      Happy to hear the flight went well! Keep at it and you will continue to gain confidence to venture off on your own. 👍

    Excellent no-nonsense tutorial. In an emergency I’d want you up front. Thanks for explaining how to correct the landing weight for more accurate v speed for landing.

    A FEW NUMBERS CAME UP DIFFERENT SUCH AS TRIM WAS 5.28 INSTEAD IF YOUR 6.2, BUT IT ALL WORKED OUT.

    I will try the flight and have been looking for a straight from A-B tutorial with minimal setup involved as a start. The only thing I am worried about is that for the first few minutes he zoomed in on everything which is great, but then for the whole flight he was zoomed way back and I cannot see any details of what he was doing, but at least I can see where the cursor was pointing so maybe it will work out for me. Thank you.

    Oh man I love your checklist on the right hand side as you go!!! All the many others out there that do these tutorials need to pay attention and do the same especially that P Gatcomb guy! He drinks like 20 cups of coffee before he does a video and you can’t follow a word he’s saying!!!

    Great tutorial. Just a thought on using the reversers. They really don't have to be used on a dry runway with autobrake set and spoilers up as long as you have plenty on runway left.

    • @surfman88
      @surfman88 Рік тому

      They mainly used for spitting out birds i was told.

    • @user-ql4gg9mq1n

      I am pretty sure they are sometimes used to save brake wear or exit the runway as fast as possible if it it a busy airport.

    Looks very interesting and concise, can't wait to have a go. Out of interest how are you able to move around the controls etc. with such steadiness

      @@FlightSimCoach Thanks for the reply. I am trying to familiarise myself with the 737 as my family are treating me to a 2 hour time simulator course, which I am looking forward to. My question was more about the ease with which you move around the cockpit and view the controls etc. I can't get that level of control.

    • @FlightSimCoach
      @FlightSimCoach  2 місяці тому

      @@chrispurkiss1491 In this video I believe Darrell primarily used his right mouse button to pan around the cockpit, as well as the arrows on the keyboard to translate the view left/right/up/down. You can also assign keyboard shortcuts to quickly jump to pre-saved views. Wishing you a great time in the sim course!

      I find my gauges etc. move about all over the place when using the mouse which is frustrating to say the least. Also how to I move the trim wheel does this need to be set in controls? I have the TB Velocity One Yoke etc. and it has a trim wheel control but not working at the moment, probable need to look at controls and perhaps FSUIPC and Spadnext.

      @@FlightSimCoach Pleased to say I seem to have resolved the A/T issue but have no idea how. I think it may have been something to do with starting from cold/dark. I am now able to practice your fight tutorial. A the moment I have been concentrating on take off and getting level flight at 6000 feet. I am going to venture into the Autoland next but need to go through the tutorial a few times first. Out of interest are you using some sort of Track IR for your cabin views, you see to be able to move about quite smoothly and freely.

    How do you know the wind, and the landing altitude? Do you have to search up charts and such?

    • @FlightSimCoach
      @FlightSimCoach  Рік тому

      Wind can be obtained from the METAR/ATIS for the destination. Correct, the landing altitude is listed on the airport charts. Here's one place you could obtain that info (there are many others too): www.fltplan.com/airport.cgi?EGGD

      Yes. Go into the FMC and under PMDG setup I think its called if it says cold and dark just select the button to the right and change the option. There are several like approach and so on. As for the runway start the flight from the runway.
