Puss in Boots The Last Wish certainly made a strong name for itself and showed that Dreamworks still has some fire left in them. What did you all think of the film?
Heck even my mother liked this movie (and most of the time the only animated like movies she likes are studio ghibli or how to train your dragon movies)
As someone who loves the Shrek franchise, it was refreshing to see this franchise come back full force and with open arms. Compared to franchises like Toy Story where Disney is willing to milk regardless if the movies are great. Honestly DreamWorks has always been the ones to do an animated sequel with justice and The Last Wish is one of those sequels.
This movie was straight up phenomenal and is probably one of the best animated movies of this decade and I loved how it subverted many trops in, also death was chilling
I personally didn't saw Death as a villain but simply a good antagonistic character. Like you have major total differences between villains and antagonists. For one thing, an antagonist doesn't automatically have to be someone who is always evil and can be either a force who directly opposes the protagonist. With Death, I don't see him as an evil being but someone who is trying to teach Puss a very tough lesson that he isn’t immortal and he should respect the life he has left and not take it for granted like what he did with his other lives. A reminder to us all that everyone will face Death sooner or later.
It's hard to believe that this movie got in competition against Tuca & Bertie in Cartoon Tournament bracket. But there are so many reasons why it did and I think you sumed it up very well Mann.
I already loved the first Puss in Boots movie and thought it was pretty good. But this sequel is most definitely one of the best movies of 2022. No joke Puss in Boots' last wish seriously takes this little spin-off from the Sherk franchise and makes it into its own unique addition of expanding the Sherk world by furthering more of Puss story, really this second Puss in boots movie is so much better than the first one like for real super awesome.
I love how this film had 3 types of villains the sympathetic ones, the force of nature, and the general asshole.
I really liked this movie at first I just thought it was a quick cash grab sequel to the Puss in the boots movie. But after watching it I really enjoyed it. I liked all the characters Puss, Kitty, the dog, Jack Horner is definitely up there in my top 10 villains in DreamWorks movies. Not mention this movie has hands down my new favorite interpretation of Death I love the design, his voice, he's personality and now thanks to this movie I starting doing his little whistle song.
Honestly I always interpreted the message as you have to cherish, your life since you’re not invincible but that’s just me.
As for the movie itself I’m glad everyone really loving this movie. There was barely anything bad I can say about the movie it’s that good
7:06 right! I love how Goldie and the bears had an arc but still stay criminals. I feel a lesser movie would have them become law abiding citizens by the end somehow. And the wolf like you said is such a badass( badassery is something that’s Also missing from a lot of animated movies)
Happy to see you talk abt this man this move was so good
8:00 this one of those rare occasions where a PG rated animated movie gets to be mature while others from Illumination Pixar and mostly Disney plays it a little too Safe
This movie was so good.
I have a lot of faith in a Shrek 5 or Shrek reboot after seeing it
You don't need to watch the first PIB movie to understand this one, but you do get some important context regarding why Kitty is the way she is. Also it's funny how their relationship went from being...weirdly horny in the first movie, to something more mature and healthy. I don't think we've ever seen Puss so vulnerable before
Haven't seen this movie, but you got me to realize I'd forgotten there even is a difference between G and PG rating categories. Hmmph. 🤔
This movie gave us villains not only done right, but villains that we needed and missed
Jack Horner: Pure evil and loving it
Goldilocks: Rebeca Sugar should take notes
Wolf: He's gonna be on someones top 10 scariest nostalgia moments list in 10 or 15 years.
Who would have imagined that the best publicity would be to make a good movie? Animation industry gotta take notes
I really loved this movie. I had such a wonderful time watching this and so much of it was fun to enjoy. From Puss' character arc, the use of different villains, the animation. It was all brilliant. I can only hope that Dreamworks can continue to pull off more amazing movies like this in the future.
Puss 2 is something different that will change your life
This has to be one of my favorite animated movies of recent years. I want more villains like jack
Hm, how very interesting, fair and valid points and opinions, i wonder what DreamWorks will make next moving forward? I guess we’ll see.
This movie is just amazing, so is Trolls 3
Great movie. Great review
I think the message of companionship is intertwined with humbleness. People with carefree lives never realize that they need people to care about as they ground them from doing ridiculous things. Remember that guy who went hiking in a canyon where he got a rock stuck on his hand and never thought to leave a note or call anyone before he left? That's kind of how I feel.
Naw I could see that.
so am i hallucinating a puss and boots movie with three kittens. like is it two or three?
It was short movie, you prolly saw meme or gif...
You got three likes in a row from me, which earned a subscribe and this video’s 400th like.
this is DAM Good Sequel and it coming from the fact the first Puss in Boots movie being Good but this movie makes it better with Great animation Excellent fight scenes and Excellent Villains take not Disney DreamWorks manages to bring back Villains into there movies
this is a DAM Good movie
❤
Comeback? They never left. They almost always had good movies.
Not gonna lie, I enjoyed Abominable and Mann of 1000 Thoughts's review more than Puss in Boots: The Last Wish itself.
