I grew up in the UK and we had our versions of these shows, but I have to say I admire Goodson-Todman's uncanny ability to package these games as tight as a drum. Truly a golden age. The hosts were fantastic during this period as well.
i know im asking randomly but does any of you know of a method to get back into an instagram account..? I somehow forgot the login password. I would love any tricks you can give me
i kinda like your classic shows too! sometimes wonder why some shows never made it to air here. going for gold being one, that could’ve made a killing IMO.
Good Lord, Johnny Olson musta worked 16hr days, I'm new to this game but I know he's the announcer for the price is right and match game,, perhaps other game shows as well. Ten minutes in and I'm really loving this show, I'm going to seek out every episode I can find. I guess what I like the most is that solo match was very difficult indeed
Same thing with Jack Narz . He was working for CBS and NBC at the same time. Now You See It was CBS,Concentration was NBC even though it was in syndication because NBC owned the rights to Concentration until nowadays.
@@bsteven885 What about a ramp to make it wheelchair accessible? I know it’s not necessarily the best idea seeing how the stairs are shaped but I mean it’s the only thing I can think of.
@Qunicy Holman No, the 1989 version just flat-out sucked. It was lifeless and dull, and Chuck Henry's hosting style puts him in the same "I'm-just-here-for-the-paycheck" category as David Sparks on Crosswits '86 and All About The Opposite Sex.
Wonder how so many CBS programs , including Carol Burnett, Match Game, were all taped in this one studio no. 33 at Television City-- and Price is Right!

@@steve760 The first format should have been junked altogether..clunky..they did get rid of the locked-out rule after this first episode/pilot..should have ditched the tandem of players as a pair...too confusing..
About the only thing wrong with this first episode is that the zeroes are not evenly spaced in the $5,000 sign at 18:43. I would have thought Goodson would have had an issue with that considering the bell had to sound just right on his shows. I also understand that it's the 70's, but that's a ghastly looking font.
IT SURE IS.Solving puzzles from home is easy ,but a whole different matter altogether .NOW YOU SEE IT IS PRETTY MUCH LIKE A HUGE CROSSWORD PUZZLE,IT CAN BE VERY DIFFICULT BUT AT LEAST IT'S NOT IN A BOOK.
I watched the premiere of the 1989 version that Wink Martindale posted on his channel, and that version absolutely blows. Based on this episode, I can safely say that the 1974-75 version is far superior, and the 1989 version ranks as one of the worst game show revivals of all time.
*I remember watching this show as a child of about 9 back in 1974!*
Still sticks out in my mind as a very good puzzler type of game show

I haven’t seen this in years. I just played this episode for my daughter and she likes it
I have just discovered this game this week. I love it. I dont remember ever hearing of it before. Glad I found it !
Happy 45th Anniversary to Now You See It!!!

Johnny O was the man!
Same thing with Jack Narz . He was working for CBS and NBC at the same time. Now You See It was CBS,Concentration was NBC even though it was in syndication because NBC owned the rights to Concentration until nowadays.
he was that man.
I am surprised NBC never rebooted Concentration or sold to any of the other networks.
Nice, fun show! I especially enjoy the theme music.
"Chump Change" by Quincy Jones.
I listen to it often. Definitely 70's.
IMO this show had one of the all time greatest TV sets ever built. I think it could even work today (without the shag carpeting, of course).
Designed by Jim Agazzi.
Agreed! And yeah shag carpeting hasn’t exactly aged well haha
Black floor would be smooth.
It would be nice, but it can't be built now because of ADA (American Disability Act) regulations.

Whoa! That final round is a doozy. Cool concept for a game show.
Jack Narz hosted this show concurrently with the syndicated Concentration.
Thanks BUZZR, I never knew that that the 1989 version was an updated twist on this 70's game!

Card Sharks (Eubanks/Rafferty) Family Feud (Combs)
Double Dare (Trebek)???
Joker's Wild CBS run
Bullseye (late in the syndicated run)
I don't know if the 1989 revival of this show was though.
Match Game, $25,000 Pyramid,
Did not know that Q created the theme for this show.
Originally the theme to the Bill Cosby variety show, which aired a few years earlier. The Quincy Jones Orchestra played the theme song live on camera.
Before this incarnation of NOW YOU SEE IT, this was the theme for THE NEW BILL COSBY SHOW.
Linda is workin' that Mia Farrow hairdo!
The contestant Tony looks like he spent all morning before the taping with the hair dryer. He has more hair than Linda. 🤣
I don't care for the rule about blocking the opponent in the final round.
Donna Martin totally agree. Glad they did away with quickly
The original geek game show!! I don't know if there were too many fans for this game show!!
great game!
Richard Weatherford Totally!! Too bad CBS didn't keep it longer.
Alex Townsend I liked the '89 revival. I enjoy the original just as much. It deserves a comeback.
@@RealTime88 Well you can thank Fred Silverman for that, he was the anti-Game Show King

Funny how the final round the lady in green was in the green seat and the lady in blue was in the blue seat.
It's a conspiracy I tell you
i allways wondered when this show debuted
Very enjoyable show! 😁
I was born in 1974.
If I Hosted NOW YOU SEE IT, I Want Everything from the 1989 Revival

Time starts after the swing person turns around in the elimination round
Shame that Buzzr has gone from airing this weekday mornings to burying it at 4 AM on Sunday mornings.
Yeah. I love Gene Rayburn's Match Game, but we don't need a block of five episodes in a row every afternoon.
@@steve760 You have to realize, there aren'tm many episodes of this at all..not compared to shows like Match Game or Dawson's Feud.

The music sounds like it belongs in a blaxploitation film.
The theme song was composed by Quincy Jones & it was called "Chump Change".
"Stay tuned for LOVE OF LIFE, next over most of these CBS stations."
I think this is the same Lannie Abraham who later was on Match Game.

Yo I would’ve completely faceplanted running down the stairs like Jack Narz, who was in his early 50s in 1974, did in the opening
The score value of a question based upon position number seems pretty arbitrary.
Yeah, it's not as though the questions got more difficult the closer the answer was to the lower right--
Good game, but kind of silly how the points are awarded by board position.
DID THE 3 SECONDS START AFTER JACK NARZ ASKED THE QUESTION IN THE FIRST SEASON?That's not enough time,it went too fast.
