The reason this broke the internet is because it LITERALLY CAME OUT OF FUCKING NO WHERE, nothing to warn us this was coming, no explanation why, he just DID IT. PS: basically when we got to gen 7 (Sun/Moon), the designers started implementing new ways to design, like Regional Variants (something you’ll see soon enough)
Funny thing also is that because Mark was just rushing at the list, he never saw the tabs to show Mega looks, Regional Variants, and the list WAS missing others since it only included a small part of Hisui back when the list was made.
Before this video, no one would DARE publicly discuss the...'sex appeal' of Pokemon. Not to average people, not to gamers, Not to even most Pokemon fans... After this video though...oh man...
In my case it's more of a case of whether I figured a given Pokemon would be good to have around the house just in general, and in that case Gardevoir would pretty much be at the top of my list due to how kind and gentle they are even in the wild, while also being very strong and more than capable of protecting themselves and those around them. A Gardevoir would likely make a great housekeeper and nanny/babysitter. Personally, I'd just like having a Gardevoir around the house in general, rather than it being about me feeling any sort of physical "attraction" to them. If I ever did something like this, I highly doubt my total number of "Smash" picks would exceed 20....and that's me being generous while also counting Gen 9 & Legends Arceus.
22:30 fun fact the Sun and Moon games, which he smashed the largest percentage of, are based on Hawaii, and Mark is from Hawaii so that may have something to do with the designs being more appealing to him.
I mean, if we're doing Pokemon Smash or Pass, I can highly recommend Shenpai's list. Not only does she do the full up-to-date Dex, but she even does the mega forms, the giant forms, and even the gym leaders.
While Markiplier's video is entertaining on its own, I found the Game Grumps' version far more hilarious because they debated and discussed pretty much every single one, to the point they had to split it into two videos. XD
@@DieselWeasel I think they're saying it's just a different kind of funny. Game Grumps make one after Mark, and debate on them. Mark just shows up out of nowhere, makes this video, then leaves lol.
I love Markiplier's Try not to Laugh series of videos. I know it's a little weird reacting to someone else reacting, but the clips in those videos are really good, and Markiplier laughing is infectious as hell.
@@theduckgoesmoo that actually happened to one of marks too. but only cause it happened to someone else who reacted to the same clip, and mark ended up making a video saying how it wasn't fair that his video wasn't getting a strike. and of course, instead of removing the original strike, youtube just put a strike on marks video
Fun facts: Gametheory created the perfect pokemon for Markiplier twice. The "extra" pokemon was included because it was during the realease of Pokemon Legends Arceus, so it wasn't yet updated the number on google. With the newest Pokemon Present, there are currently 1015 pokemon in total, without the alternate forms
I'm hyped to watch this! I'm also hyped (because I'm a little...anyway) to suggest you also watch the Game Grumps do the same thing. "If you hear someone say 'Really?' take a shot (don't, actually, that's a horrible idea)." Going through all of these pokemon actually reminds me of a more...important suggestion? I know it's one I want to see you react to some day. Unraveled by Polygon/Brian David Gilbert. While you could go in order, I'd be really ok with watching you start with his "Pokemon Rap" video, the full convention panel one that's about half an hour long. To answer your question, this is the only FULL smash or pass he ever did. There are two small ones he did in response to MatPat trying to make "the perfect Pokemon for Mark to smash." I once did a tally of my own back when this was fresh, but I've long since forgotten and don't feel like going through again. Pretty sure I was over 100, though.
Oh God this is always hilarious to see peoples reaction to Markipliers choices, you HAVE to get Kirby to react to this too, I can just imagine her falling out of her chair from laughing/confusion XD
A Pokétuber named Purplecliffe did his own Smash or Pass video before reacting to Markiplier, then a week later he evidently blacked out the recording session in his memory or something and went back to rewatch his own video and compare his results to Mark's 😆 I recommend watching that one, too, it's a good time
@@TheBepis1309 Actually, Gardevoir (2,701 tags) has almost twice as much as Lucario (1,524 tags). Closely followed by Pikachu (1,044), Eevee (842), and Zangoose (771). On the proportional chart, Gardevoir ranks 11th out of 50 with 26.9% NSFW, while Lucario doesn't rank at all with only 14.7% (placing it somewhere behind the 50th place, Zeraora with 15.6%.) Lucario only beats Gardevoir on the chart of total volume of fanart regardless of NSFW tagging, where it holds third place to Gardevoir's fourth, behind Pikachu and Eevee.
In most lists, I noticed it usually lands around 70-110. I decided to do my own Smash or Pass (there's literally a Pokemon smash or pass site so people can do this and it keeps track for em)........ I got 226 smashes (gen 9 was also added though). I discovered that I MAY have problems with vaguely humanoid, dragons, spherical mons, and bugs being my top smashes. (Not an actual statistic from site, just something I noticed.) I think a funny gaming channel idea could be both you and Kirby doing the smash or pass site. (Granted it can only keep track of 1 person's smashes, so you'd have to manually keep track of the others. Or one of us keeps track and comments the other person's smash count.) It also actually shows how many people smash or passed specific mons, an interesting addition.
Markiplier did say in one of his videos years ago that he does not like Pokémon so him not knowing any Pokémon above Gen 1 makes sense. It's still hilarious to see his reaction to what they all look like though
What would probably be a good series for you to do is the Terminal Montage Pokemon battle videos with the Lockstin video follow-up. The two collab for these amazing animated videos that go on Terminal Montage's channel with a fun informational video on Lockstin's channel that explains why and how the battle happened.

Heck, even the Rule 34 website featured its own Pokémon Smash or Pass function, prompting titled “Gotta Smash ‘em All”. Also; not sure if anyone else will admit their tally, but I did my own, & ended up smashing nearly 170 of ‘em. No, I don’t feel ashamed… okay, maybe a little.
This video shows 899 Pokémon. Sword and Shield finished with Calyrex as the last Pokémon and then Legends Arceus showed up and added Wyrdeer as 899 as well as some others to hit 905. As of this current moment there are 1010 listed species of Pokémon thanks to Scarlet and Violet not including forms as well as at minimum 5 more coming soon via DLC. I recommend you watch the 1008 Encounters video by Pokémon them selves, it’s super neat and quickly runs through every single Pokémon or you can avoid this video to dodge spoilers for newer ones. Gen 7 is where Pokemon just became like unapologetically horny for some reason. * Salazzle is a horny lizard that is 100% female that makes massive harems of it's pre-evolutions and it's even implied in the Pokedex that they can use pheromones to make humans join its harem. * Tsareena is a horny plant girl (100% female again) that evolves from leveling up while knowing the move Stomp. It gets it's own unique kick move after evolving, and all of its Pokedex entries talk about it stepping on and humiliating whatever it beats up. * Incineroar is just a big buff cat man that the internet got mad horny for (we're talking Lucario levels). * Buzzswole and Pheramosa are just insect Ultra Beasts that are horny af. Ones a buff mosquito man and the other is a weirdly kinky looking roach woman. * Even outside the Pokemon themselves, this was the generation Lusamine was introduced as a character. She's like 100% the kind of character that makes a person want to be stepped on by them. * Olivia barely wears anything, is always talking about her sad love life, and her battle intro is you literally looking at her ass before she snaps around at you. * Professor Kukui is just a hot buff guy with his swole abbs out at all times. Man is hardly wearing a shirt when he just has it open at all times to show off his physique. * All of that without even mentioning the infamous Mallow Trial mini-game that they had to cut from Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon because it was so damn horny. You're mixing ingredients in a bowl, but it has you looking right at Mallow's "region" while you're mashing the A button crushing berries and having goo spray everywhere while she's shouting "Crush it! Mash it! Turn it to goo!" in the background. I'm just saying, if you were an impressionable youth playing those games, there's no way it didn't awaken something in you. That shit was wild with how horny it went.
I always find it hilarious when people see the newer pokemon for the first time. Especially the ultra beasts, the galarian fossils and eternatus are funny without explaination.
13:47 Darkrai puts people to sleep, sometimes shortly, sometimes permanently. People who sleep next to him have nightmares. He also doesn’t kidnap people.
The Pokemon starting from Cosmog and ending with Necrozma technically aren't Legendaries, though they are roughly comparable (albeit a bit weaker in most cases) stat-wise. That particular set of Pokemon are called Ultra Beasts and they are exclusive to the Sun/Moon games, as they are tied directly to the main villain. So that being said, Pheromosa (whose name is a reference to the word "Pheromone") is one of the few Bug-type Pokemon that is at or near the "Mythical" level (Pheromosa's BST is just 30 points less than Genesect, and Genesect itself is a Mythical). The Bug type is currently the only type to not have even a single Legendary Pokemon.
Knowing how hard Markiplier's been simping for Lady Dimitrescu beforehand, a lot of his picks in this video weren't a surprise XD If you want to watch more Mark, I definitely recommend taking a look at his reaction to Lady D (either his video "WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME ABOUT THIS??" or any of the compilations people made of Markiplier respectfully simping for Lady Dimitrescu during his playthrough)
He stopped at Wyrdeer because Legends Arceus was released around the time and obviously the site didn't update the new Pokemon in time. The Pokemon he was missing to complete Gen 8 are: -#900 Kleavor: A Bug/Rock alternate evo to Scyther. It has axes for hands. -#901 Ursaluna: A Ground/Normal evo to Ursaring. It's stands on all fours and has weird mud eyebrows. -#902 Basculegion: A Water/Ghost evolution for the exclusive White-Striped Basculin. It is powered by the souls of its damned kin (No I am not joking, that is LITERALLY its description) -#903 Sneasler: An evolution to the Poison/Fighting type Hisuian Sneasel. It would probably be the most likely to end up on Markiplier's Smash count. -#904 Overqwil: The evolution of the Dark/Poison Type Hisuian Qwilfish. It has large spines and a Q on its tailfin. -#905 Enamorus: The Fairy/Flying female counterpart to Tornadus, Thundurus, and Landorus. She turns into a turtle to complete the reference to the Four Symbols of Chinese Mythology. (The four genies have alternate forms: Tornadus is the Vermilion Bird Suzaku, Thundurus is the Azure Dragon Seiryu, Landorus is the White Tiger Byakko, and finally Enamorus is the Black Tortoise Genbu) As of writing this comment we're now up to 1010 Pokemon, with 5 unreleased and unnumbered, and possibly more coming on the way!
If you want to do more of these kinds of videos, I would highly recommend the game grumps list because its very funny and has a lot more discussion and judgment thrown towards each other
time for a lil education: *the specific four mons in Sword and Shield (GEN 8): Dracozolt (my personal favorite of them), Arctozolt, Dracovish (the fan favorite) and Arctovish- are all FOSSILS. *Greninja might be a fan favorite, but i can't decide between him and Chesnaught as to who is my favorite among the XY starters. *Incineroar, my favorite starter in Sun and Moon, is in Super Smash Bros (same goes for Greninja). *Sirfetch'd, the one holding a sword and a shield (fitting, right?), is my 2nd favorite Pokemon EVER- behind only Charizard. *Cinderace, also from Sword and Shield era, is a fan favorite- and my 2nd favorite STARTER of course behind only Charizard. *Zebstrika from Black and White is my favorite ELECTRIC Pokemon. and needs more love. *Toucannon from Sun and Moon needs more love as well. *this video is already outdated, we have 1000+ Pokemons now. *Wyrdeer (the 899 in this video) IS REAL. evolving from Stantler in Pokemon Legends: Arceus game.
since you've reacted to this i also think you should react to bumbles mcfumbles pokemon pet teir list where he ranks gen 1 pokemon by how good a pet they'd be. super good vid.
The Arceus pronunciation debate really should have ended last year when every presentation from the Pokemon UA-cam channel about Legends pronounced it with a hard "k" sound. It's a combination of "arc" and 'Deus". There's no "S" sound in the middle of those.
This isn't a definitive reasoning for a few reasons: • The original pronunciation (from the Japanese version) uses a soft C. • When you combine two words, their pronunciation often changes as a result of how they combine; in this case, when an I or E is after a "C" it usually makes an "S" sound. • The pronunciation was only officially changed English specifically, and this is only because some were afraid about the beginning part sounding like "arse", which is just silly and adults should know better than to let stuff like that color their perspective. • The origin of the name seems to not be completely definitive either; Bulbapedia presents several options: " From 'αρχή' ('arkhē') or 'alpha', and 'deus' or 'Zeus', and possibly 'arcane', 'aureus', 'arc', 'arcesso', and 'Archeus' ". This still ties back into the second point though, because regardless of the origin the pronunciation is a separate matter. In short, both pronunciations are equally valid and are a matter of personal interpretation because they're both arbitrary.
Garbodor is one of my favorite gen 5 Pokemon. It completes the pollution trio. Koffing and Wheezing = Air pollution Grimer and Muk = water pollution Trubbish and Garbodor= land pollution. Unrelated but my first ever Pokemon was Chikorita. My favorite typing is fairy followed by ice. Glaceon is my favorite eeveelution. My favorite mythical is meloetta. My favorite legendary is ho-oh. My favorite spin-off is a tie between mystery dungeon and unite.
Somebody else already recommended the West of Loathing series Mark did, so I'll recommend his Little Nightmares playthrough. It's not a scary game, but the best part comes at the end of his playthrough. Loved this though, definitely need more Markiplier reacts from you!
Short explanation for anyone interested: The Ultra Beasts are essentially Pokémon from another dimension. While there's a limit number of them you can find, and they're essentially treated like Legendary Pokémon in-game, they're known to actually be very common in their home dimensions. (I personally really like them, because their otherworldly nature allowed The Pokémon Company to experiment with some truly strange designs)
The one extra for this video is the last one... that last mon belongs to "Legend Arceus" which it seems that Mark didn't have more info about it when he did this. So yep, it's extra by the time.
Correction Lopunny is proof that Game Freak knows what they are doing. I swear they kept striking sexy poses in Isle of Armor. I kept catching myself say "Stupid sexy Lopunny" under my breath. I'm 100% sure some of them are furries.
yo, you should check out the game theory's video in response to this video called markiplier's perfect pokemon. they go through the data and create a pokemon based on said data.
Mark has said that because he played one of the early pokemon games as a kid, he has therefore already played every single pokemon game that has ever and will be created and he doesn't need to play any more. this is a hill he's willing to die on. and it explains why he doesn't know anything about any pokemon aside from gen 1.
There's this guy on UA-cam called Professor Lando. He guys in-depth with his virtual students about things like this and their origins, including a Pokémon video. He's hilarious
I honestly did not know about a lot of these Pokemon until I saw Mark do this video... I'm someone that stopped playing after gen 2. Admittedly, you can also blame him for why Pheromosa became my favorite.
mark once said he played pokemon red and has therefore played every pokemon game, so it doesnt surprise me he never bothered to learn the other pokemon
Also, Lopunny is like the "Lola bunny" of the Pokemon franchise... Many would smash, and a few more would also smash even if they don't want to admit it.
"Are those legendary Pokémon?" Those are Ultra Beasts and the Pokémon community is still debating on if they're legendary or not (they're not they're just aliens)
Mark "Def Not A Masochist" Fischbach, everyone! Also, fun fact: Phantump has one of the saddest dex entries! Read it yourself if you dare, bc it'll fuck you up man.
Jacksepticeye did a follow up video to this one where he Smashed or Passed the FNAF animatronics across the entire franchise. Edit: MatPat also did two attempts at trying to create the perfect Pokemon for Mark inspired by this video. He passed both of them, but edited the last one to be smashable.
Well, since you're doing Game Theory, you should know MatPat did an episode of Film Theory breaking down this video... it's interesting to say the least.
You should do a smash or pass Pokémon video with all 1000+ Pokémon plus all the special forms yourself. Maybe have Kirby join just so you two could argue when one of you says smash and the other says pass

-#900 Kleavor: A Bug/Rock alternate evo to Scyther. It has axes for hands.
-#901 Ursaluna: A Ground/Normal evo to Ursaring. It's stands on all fours and has weird mud eyebrows.
-#902 Basculegion: A Water/Ghost evolution for the exclusive White-Striped Basculin. It is powered by the souls of its damned kin (No I am not joking, that is LITERALLY its description)
-#903 Sneasler: An evolution to the Poison/Fighting type Hisuian Sneasel.
(The four genies have alternate forms: Tornadus is the Vermilion Bird Suzaku, Thundurus is the Azure Dragon Seiryu, Landorus is the White Tiger Byakko, and finally Enamorus is the Black Tortoise Genbu)
As of writing this comment we're now up to 1010 Pokemon, with 5 unreleased and unnumbered, and possibly more coming on the way!
If you want to do more of these kinds of videos, I would highly recommend the game grumps list because its very funny and has a lot more discussion and judgment thrown towards each other
time for a lil education:
*the specific four mons in Sword and Shield (GEN 8): Dracozolt (my personal favorite of them), Arctozolt, Dracovish (the fan favorite) and Arctovish- are all FOSSILS.
I want to but it’s just a long video
@@theduckgoesmoo you could split it into two parts

*_DON'T YOU DARE_*
Get the hell away from my Vaporeon.
Now Limenade did the same thing, however he judged on how edible they were.
Polygon unraveled
You should watch Markiplier's video called Meow,
It's the video Mark wants to live on as his legacy.
i just want to note mark said smash to boogieman of the pokemon world but pass to god......
like
the
WHAT?
Now all we need is a Duckgoesmoo Smash or pass of all 1000+ pokemon
The Arceus pronunciation debate really should have ended last year when every presentation from the Pokemon UA-cam channel about Legends pronounced it with a hard "k" sound. It's a combination of "arc" and 'Deus". There's no "S" sound in the middle of those.
This isn't a definitive reasoning for a few reasons:
• The original pronunciation (from the Japanese version) uses a soft C.
It's only been 2 months, and I'm pretty sure that Gardevoir has surpassed Lucario by at least 8-10 thousand nsfw images now.
Garbodor is one of my favorite gen 5 Pokemon. It completes the pollution trio.
Koffing and Wheezing = Air pollution
Grimer and Muk = water pollution
Trubbish and Garbodor= land pollution.
We need to see Kirby do a Smash or Pass pokemon edition
5:18 I am glad you said “did you know…” so your audience didn’t have to
Believe me they made sure that I knew
Somebody else already recommended the West of Loathing series Mark did, so I'll recommend his Little Nightmares playthrough. It's not a scary game, but the best part comes at the end of his playthrough. Loved this though, definitely need more Markiplier reacts from you!
Before you ask: yes, there are *those* type of people who see Pokémon that way...
There is way too much fanfiction dedicated to Pokémon.
@@antidotebrain69 *shudder* don’t remind me...
You know Jynx is ugly when he would rather smash a grouping of moles and a grouping of Magnets than smash it
Maybe he just like foursomes...?
5:18 theduckgoesmoo: Did you know...?
Me: *slaps your face* NO!!!!!!
Mark: *Gets to the Ultra Beasts*
Kyle: "Are these Legendaries?"
Me: "Well yes, but actually no"
Short explanation for anyone interested:
The Ultra Beasts are essentially Pokémon from another dimension. While there's a limit number of them you can find, and they're essentially treated like Legendary Pokémon in-game, they're known to actually be very common in their home dimensions.
(I personally really like them, because their otherworldly nature allowed The Pokémon Company to experiment with some truly strange designs)
4:29 Fun fact:Hitmonchan are 100% Male.
Some baby pokemon were introduced in later gens like how Roselia was gen 3 and budew was gen 4 so Budew would be on the gen 4 pokedex
Having watched Nux Taku vids I can confirm that Lucario is not the most R34 pokemon
What an interesting first video to react to Mark lmao
Btw game theory did a video after this one making Markipliar’s perfect Pokémon
12:05 "would this make me a furry if I said Smash?" he asks this Now after 22 Smashes
i love how he wonders if he's a furry, but he's totally a furry if he wanted to smash 60+ animals. (pokemon)
Random fact: 22:53 is my favorite Pokémon of all time. Unfortunately, other people find it forgettable.
The one extra for this video is the last one... that last mon belongs to "Legend Arceus" which it seems that Mark didn't have more info about it when he did this. So yep, it's extra by the time.
It came out before legends arceus but during the reveals for it, so the extra was from those showcased for that game.
22:47 ehhh not really their classified as Ultra Beasts
Zoroark is one of the most obvious choices.
And Salazle is proof GameFreak KNOWS what they're doing.
Correction Lopunny is proof that Game Freak knows what they are doing. I swear they kept striking sexy poses in Isle of Armor. I kept catching myself say "Stupid sexy Lopunny" under my breath. I'm 100% sure some of them are furries.
We were all waiting for Lopunny
yo, you should check out the game theory's video in response to this video called markiplier's perfect pokemon. they go through the data and create a pokemon based on said data.
The reason there were 899 instead of 898 (the actual number) is because one of the pokemon had 2 forms shown separately.
14:45 A WOOBAT IS A BAD ZUBAT?!?! YOU TAKE THAT BACK, MISTER! My Zuzu babes are just as great as my Woowoo babes.
I mean I have a woobat at least
What is a patron exactly? Also, first vid of yours I've watched!! Might be subscribing soon :)
Patreon is a way for viewers to support the channel monetarily, they allow me to do videos and get my videos a day before the public
@@theduckgoesmoo ohhhhh okay. Ty for the explanation!!
5:17 Mark did not know
You just need to keep in mind, Markiplier is not a masachist.
Jacksepticeye did a fnaf smash or Pass.
I have never heard such a question as "is markiplier straight" also i really love the content and hope you keep making great videos from down under
I think Lucario and Lopunny duel it out on 34.
Also, Lopunny is like the "Lola bunny" of the Pokemon franchise... Many would smash, and a few more would also smash even if they don't want to admit it.
"Are those legendary Pokémon?"
Those are Ultra Beasts and the Pokémon community is still debating on if they're legendary or not (they're not they're just aliens)
Matpat took this video and created a perfect pokemon for him, I'd recommend checking that out and then Marks reaction to that vid
Mark "Def Not A Masochist" Fischbach, everyone!
Also, fun fact: Phantump has one of the saddest dex entries! Read it yourself if you dare, bc it'll fuck you up man.
Mark is on another level. Our brains can’t comprehend
MatPat actually did a game theory episode on this, I highly recommend checking it out.
i remember the first time i saw it i was laughing so hard partly because of the pauses in the music
YES! I have been wanting you to react to this for SO long!
It’s basically Freddy Krueger, a dream demon
Well, since you're doing Game Theory, you should know MatPat did an episode of Film Theory breaking down this video... it's interesting to say the least.
You should do a smash or pass Pokémon video with all 1000+ Pokémon plus all the special forms yourself. Maybe have Kirby join just so you two could argue when one of you says smash and the other says pass
21:32 fun fact
In order to get Tsareena you need a Steene to know the move Stomp… I’m not making this shit up
0:55
This video you reacting to is just a nest full of BRUH!
I love how this video is starting to say more about the person watching than it does Markiplier
6:33 we all know what everyone's looking at
I don’t actually
@@theduckgoesmoo look how thick it is
Duck: DID YOU KNO-
Me: NOPE, NOT AGAIN
Another great vid from Kyle on my birthday cake anyone 🎂
Happy birthday!! 🎉
