So I have been watching you for a while now. Well 2 months ago I joined US LawShield. Upon joining I received a free copy of this book titled "Louisiana Gun Law-Armed and Educated", written by this guy who I was told was the top self defense attorney in Louisiana named James J. Reeves. I was looking through some US LawShield videos earlier and saw video on how to avoid becoming a headline during this national crisis. On it is this Louisiana attorney James J Reeves. I hear his voice (because I was listening and not watching) and his voice sounds familiar. I look down and see your face. It was at that moment that I realized that "you" James Reeves and "that" James Reeves are one in the same. Never made the connection before this. I am not too sure how I feel about my life and freedom one day possibly being in the hands of someone who owns not 1, not 2, not 3, but FOUR Kel-Tec P380's..... a total gun snob at that😂😂😂 Must be stopped 😅😅😅👍👍👍

I’m definitely not a “Keltec fanboy” by no means but I got a S2K a couple years ago and that thing is pretty damn cool other than the rough trigger. Got a couple awesome upgrades for it and man that things is a great backpack bug out PCC now! And I’ve never really needed or wanted one but I think they’ve pretty much perfected that P32 and P3at by now after like almost 20 years!?! 👍🏻Lol 😆

I've had a first generation Kel-Tec P32 for many years and shot it quite a bit. I consider it the single best ultra compact .32 ACP ever made. It's in a unique category in terms of extreme light weight and thinness. Mine ran everything I put in it out of the box, except for balking a little with Remington ammunition. A small radius on the bottom corner of the extractor cured that. Perfect function since. The Cor-Bon load is too hot for it, and the slide will cycle too fast to pick up the top cartridge. This also happens in some traditional steel .32s like the Colt 1903. The first generation guns had a truly excellent and innovative sighting system and slide profile. It was perfect for raising the gun to eye level while focusing on the target. Shots will go right where you're looking. Probably the single best sights ever for an ultra small short range handgun. Unfortunately Kel-Tec took a big step backwards with the second generation and switched to conventional sights, which are unremarkable and not very good. Unconventional sighting systems seem to be little understood or appreciated. The SIG P365 SAS is another example of an ingenious and excellent sight that just hasn't caught on or gotten the appreciation it truly deserves.

Personal fan of the P32. Even smaller and lighter, and it locks open on the last round. Yes it is .32ACP (place hate for me to ignore below) so shot placement is very important. Those of you who appendix carry a M1 Abrams can read something else.
That being said, it is good for its intended niche: very concealed and better at range than your pocketknife. It is truly a "forget it is there" pistol. For me, the .380 version is too big for its benefits. If it works, I will wear my Officer sized 1911.
    Bottom line:
Carry what you want, but carry.
    Keep it cleaned and maintained.
    Feed it good carry rounds.
    Practice regularly. Stress drills.
    Placement is key.

Yeah man, last year I picked up a Ruger LCP2 in 22LR (basically a just for fun gun). But this past summer I found myself pocket-carrying it on a fairly routine weekend basis because I'd be out jogging (shirtless), with my daughter in her stroller & 2 dogs on leashes. Not a lot of room for concealment, so one day I threw the little Ruger in my gym shorts & it was perfect for the task. I know Hop didn't care much for his copy of the pistol & spoke negatively about it in his TFB review, but mine has been extremely reliable after thousands of rounds using exclusively Remington 36gr hollow point, so I do trust it to poke holes in villainous people when I'm out on a jog & can't carry my 43X. Don't feel bad about owning 4 Keltec .380's, James-- I'm a 235 pound 6"1' grown ass man & I just admitted to carrying a LCP2 in 22LR. We're all tough guys... "*+*"Together"*+*"

I had one once. I had to send it in to Kel-Tec twice for the same issues. Second time they sent me back a brand new whole complete slide assembly. Good customer service overall. I documented several fails to eject and or extract. Exact round count, ammunition type(s), malfunction...all of that sent to the company.
When I got the new slide assembly I shot several rounds through it without any issues. But, in my mind I just could not get passed the issues it previously had. I just could not get passed the mindset of it not being reliable. Even though I test fired it and there were no issues I sold it.
Fast forward to Ruger and their version. I bought one and it has been flawless through hundreds of rounds. It is a perfect little carry gun for the reasons mentioned in the video.

I still EDC the Gen-1 P3AT my father bought new in 2004. It got hard on his hands by 2008, when he was 76. I have had it ever since, and I suspect it has had over 1,000 rounds through it; I stopped keeping track 10 years ago. I did buy two 9-round magazines from KelTec, and a few spare parts, a few years ago. 6 months ago I began to have FTF issues and the magazine fell out once from recoil. Got to looking and found that the original polymer mag catch was considerably worn. I replaced the mag catch, and it was back to original action immediately. Even with 10 rounds, it still weighs under 13 oz, and the 9-round mag only adds 1 1/4 inch to the grip, & 1.5 oz loaded, so it's still super-concealable. The sights are non-existent, the recoil is sharp, and yet it is easy to maintain, and always works. For me, it's definitely been a keeper!

I EDC the very similar Kel-tec P32. The trigger pull is long but smooth, and the sights are minimal, but they work. For some reason I can shoot the Kel-tec as accurately as any of my other handguns, particularly that critical first round, within 15 meters.

Kel-Tec did a great job with making such a tiny and light weight gun to that's still unmatched in it's category (unless you care about sights).

I've had my TCP for about 4 years now and it had performed well with everything except Monarch steel case ammo. I had 2 stove pipes with the monarch range ammo. A cheap carry option isn't bad as long as it is reliable with defensive loads. Carry the cheap pistol it'll make it where you are even less likely to brandish the weapon unless it is absolutely necessary. A Kel-Tec or a Taurus is like a Vespa scooter. James, I purchased a Kel-Tec .380 back when they first came out in 2003. I tested it extensively and found it to be all of the things you say it is. At the time, I owned a school that ran about 200 CCW students per month, and I owned my own training range. Since most of my students were new to guns and concealed carry, I decided to do an experiment that I have repeated over the years. This experiment revealed something that you didn't cover, which I think deserves a mention.
I took groups of volunteer students who had been through basic gun safety and use training but had little experience, and had them shoot the Kel-Tec under realistic, but not excessively difficult time pressure, from ten feet to seven yards. Most did extremely poorly with the little gun, often clean missing the target such that in the real world, they might have been a danger to innocent bystanders. This was clearly due to the gun's heavy, long trigger and very poor sights. To be fair to the Kel-Tec, my instructors had no problem shooting the gun safely under these conditions, and even turning in some respectable performances. My new people were also quite discouraged at their inability to do well. These issues did not really become apparent in relaxed slow fire. Also to be fair, in the years since, I have repeated the same experiment with the Ruger LCP and the S&W Bodyguard, with much the same results. By contrast, we did NOT see this happen later with the Kahr, or the Glock 42 which are slightly larger.
So I think it is worth noting that while these tiny .380's are not bad guns, they are probably not appropriate for new shooters, which is probably the bulk of people who buy them, thinking erroneously that there is such a thing as a "free lunch". A very slightly larger handgun, such as a Glock 42, will be much more functional for them. You are a young, muscular male with a lot of handgun experience, and so for you, the Kel-Tec and guns like it make sense in the role you described, but maybe for others, not so much. This is why, when I evaluate a new defense gun, I try to have others shoot it under realistic conditions, and observe how they do with it. This is something you might try to work into some of your TFB videos.

Extra mag is the size of a BIC lighter. Honestly, you can't beat it for a decent defensive gun to have that you can always carry. My most frequent daily carry choice is a Ruger LCR in .327 (or sometimes the .38 'cause it's a bit lighter). The wheelgun offers a little more "ooomph" than the .380 and I like the 99.9% reliability of a revolver

But guess what, it's been 100% reliable so far (almost 2 years, around 300 rounds), it's easiest semi auto to conceal and it's always on me, accurate and I shoot it well. Although it's 32 , capacity of 8 rounds is still very good, recoil is low and follow up shots fast. I really love my j frame revolvers for pocket carry but I have to admit that P32 works better for me and it was great value for only 151 dollars new.

I am with you. I was new into guns and didnt really understand what a "bad trigger" meant. The LCP 1 taught me. I heard the LCP 2 is an upgrade though

Love my Keltec 380, carried mine for 10yrs or more. Shoot it every few months as fast as I can. Still works fine.
