I was an Air Force weapons instructor stationed at Kunsan ROK back in 85/86. One day we got to play with the ROK's Air Force's K1-A1s Great little carbines. It used an AR type bolt but the ejector was a blade that was attached to the lower and the bolt and carrier had a groove cut in the under side for it. As you say, accuracy left something to be desired but it was intended to be more of a close quarters rifle and the military version employed a much shorter barrel, about 12" + the flash suppressor. Kind of like a knock off of our GAU-5A/A. The wire stock made for an uncomfortable cheek weld, but it was very small.
@John Kugelfischer Beretta has a long history of sucking going back to WW2 and their guns have not gotten any more reliable than they were in 1944. The proper way to use a Beretta is you fire one shot at your assailant then throw the jammed gun at his head while you make a run for it.
The P7 M8 or M13 is in deed one of the best choices! What most people don't know: the grip safety not only works as a safety, but you can also use it as a secondary trigger. After firing, keep the trigger pressed and you can shoot by squeezing the grip! A great gun, even though H&K sucks when it comes to civilian customers...
The p95 has a polymer frame and was chambered in 9mm it’s also my favorite gun to shoot I love it so much I’m searching for the entire p series even the 45 and 40 models
You could do a lot worse. I had a p85, 90 and 95 way back. All good guns, frankly tanks, hard to break. Got nostalgic and bought a good looking honest worn p85 from '87 or '88 on GB recently. $235 if I remember. Love it. Wish I had all of them back but that is pretty much the same way I feel about every gun I have ever sold! Never sell, only buy!
The Federal Bureau of Prisons bought the the RUGER P-89s and loved them. Management replaced them with Berreta s and most staff thought it was a mistake. I still have one and have literally run thousands of rounds through it with a malfunction. Your choices were excellent. Still carry my P-7 when I wear a tuxedo. Time fir all of these to come back.
But NEVER in the history of guns and weaponry has there EVER been a WORSE POS than the Ruger P89. Well, maybe the French ChautChaut (sp?) machinegun but even THAT POS is better than that Ruger POS. Prove me wrong! LMAO
I didn't care for mine. Had the really neat P89DC with the .30 Luger conversion kit with it, but I couldn't stand how it shot. I'm usually a decent enough shot, but felt like I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with the Ruger. Just sold it today, actually.
Hey James - I got a Ruger P-85 before the call back and carried it and a PC 9 (same magazines) for about 15 years as a duty duo. Love them and never let me down.
I have a P89. It is accurate It is heavy. That helps with muzzle rise. It is tough too. The decocker makes for a super safe gun. I love mine and will keep it. I recently bough 10 more mags for it.
I still have a P89, bought new in 89’ it was stolen in 2002 and found by the Texas Highway Patrol and I got it back in 2007. Their the best, thank you for the video.
I had a Ruger LCR stolen out of my car a few years back. Cops in California recovered it, returned it loaded, with no paperwork, in a hotel parking lot. I will never get rid of this gun.
The entire 3rd gen line was awesome. I have several. But in this day and age, they’d have to keep it universal. There were too many sizes, calibers, and even materials to start the whole line up again. But an alloy single and double stack, like the 6906 and 3913, would be awesome.
Super proud member of the P7 cult. I purchased my first one, an M8, 30 years ago as my wife was left handed and I'm a righty. Bought an M13 shortly after that. My brother called them my "c0ck squeezers" vs. squeeze cockers. I also purchased an HK-91 around that time. They, as well as the 93 and 16" HKk-94 could be had for $750 regularly at the time. Amazing tools, still have them to this day, which is more than I can say for the wife. Still want one a nickel P7, however. Great list, James.
It seems so silly when the same company produces a higher capacity magazine that's flush fit and they were the ones that created the lower capacity one in the first place
I own a ruger p90, first gun I ever bought and it’s my favorite gun. It has never jammed or had any issues. Absolutely love it’s fat ass and blocky body. I have a p85 made in 1988 and I love it. My only complaint is the trigger well, the way it angles down vs being straight takes away from the grip comfort over time. IMO. It’s a tank and never lets you down.
The Luger P-08 was described as a " machinist's nightmare"! It involves no less than 50 times of setting the entire barrel, receiver and frame for machining works.. Production Cost might not be commensurate the unit's selling price. One American firearms Company produced a limited run back in the 1980's..no update since then
Just for the aesthetics of the gun, like the Luger, I would love to see the US Krag brought back, with modern steel and a vestigial second lug, chambered in .308 Win. That would be a pleasure to take into the woods!
I’m guessing they took pre-orders and customer’s money and then went under. Is that about right? I remember seeing them on a shot show video a few years ago.

I still have my P7M13 ❤️❤️❤️, West Covina PD in California used to issue these pistol to their officers in the 80's
Ugh YES, definitely the Daewoos they were so cool, they even made really cool pistols that had “triple action” I own both the rifle and pistol. Awesome!
If you’re carrying one of these P7’s and you run out of bullets, you could put it in a sock and have a serious hand to hand combat weapon. 😂
Strongly agree with the HK P7, love it
Now I can't unsee those US Flagged short shorts! Really!! 😳🤣

Well, isn't that what everyone wishes for, after all? I know it sure is for me! Sometimes I catch myself staging items around my home to make it look more "thief friendly" and then getting bummed out that nobody tried to break in and burglarize me 😔😑😃🤣 jk...kinda
Guessing Magpul's legal team nixed it with media hype around school shootings.
So damn funny lol

Bring back the Ruger 44 mag Carbine. Like a 10/22 only in 44 mag
Always been 1 of my dream guns. There's a pretty iconic store in Michigan I grew up going to that had a few over the years, but always out of price range at the time. Some day I'll probably get a Henry in .44mag too.
I have never heard of this carbine up until this day, but after looking at a few pics, I would be totally behind that.
I have one and love it. Kicks like a mule
Might be easier to do that in 10mm
100% agree on the 44 carbine. I too will probably have to get a Henry 44! Good choice as well.
Yes! Ruger p89 was the clunky pistol I learned to shoot on, was decently accurate, definitely started my love for ruger in general.
P89 ....my first handgun purchase back in 92 !
Great Pistol.
I had a P90 that I regrettably passed on to a friend- a rugged, reliable, and surprisingly accurate gun.
Bring back the entire line of third generation Smith & Wesson autos, especially the 1000 series guns.
How about we go for broke and bring em all back starting with the m39 and 59! I have a 459 and a 6906. Love em. Tanks all of em. 6906 is one sexy little number.
Their 45acp version could chamber a full mag of empty fired casings without a malf! That battle sight on the rear adjustible was the personification of Kool-ness you gotta see.
@@geoffreypwilson5557 I agree.
My own 1006 will also cycle through a whole mag of fired brass without a hitch.
It's still my EDC ever since I bought it brand new in 1990.
Oh, it has the adjustable sight that you're talking about, too.
;)
@@bwvideo0905 double action only M39 with 2nd strike capability and keeping the manual safety. If they can get the trigger as smooth as a Model 19's... 🤤
“BOOM gun Decepticon opens!” Love it 🤣
I think they should bring back the break action revolvers. It looks darn cool and make the reloads more ambidextrous
Imagine if the MP412 Rex actually made it into production and onto the US market. Break action polymer .357 Magnum? Yes please.
@@mrowoofers101 Honestly that gun is exactly what I was thinking of when I wrote this comment
The other great feature of the break-open revolvers is better accuracy because there is no break between the barrel and the cylinder.
A more simple spas 12 that keeps it's heat shield I don't care if it can only be semi auto or pump only and the Smith and Wesson 5906
sqhatr I love my 5906. It doubles as a bludgeon if you run out of ammo. Pretty sure it weighs 5 pounds
You know Franchi MADE those. They didnt sell well either. There was the SAS-12 and the LAW-12. Neither did good in sales.
@@Predalien195 just looked them up. They don't really look spas 12y enough. Plus I feel like that was old. In today's age after Hollywood made it everyone's dream and half life and battlefield i feel like it would explode in popularity.
Ditto with the 5906. Not a fan of the Novak sights but damn is it an awesome handgun.
@@mattdg1981 they'd modernize it a little obviously. But the x files sold my ass on it. What a sexy gun and 10mm variants too.
Daewoo brings back memories of Carnik Con. Damn it I miss that channel
Trust me, we all do.
We all do.
I'm gonna get dogged here, but I'm going for it:
I'd like to see a modern incarnation of a makarov...
I think thats a great idea.
So black grips and better sights?

Already happened.
Look at the CZ-82.
Great video. In fact, all your videos are pretty freaking great: content, writing, production values, presentation...just really good stuff.
What the world needs is a seven-shot break-top in .32 S&W Long.
Charter's "The Professional" isn't far off ;)
How about .327 fed mag??? and also one in 44 special and another in 45 colt just for fun

A great gun, even though H&K sucks when it comes to civilian customers...

jeremy holt I have the p95 40cal
The p90 single stack .45 is my favorite.
I love my P95, good luck finding magazines for it.
The P89 was the first gun I bought. Gave it to my brother for Christmas a long time ago. As far as I know he still has it.

I would buy one today.
P7 and a tux? I like your style!
The Ruger P 89 is imho, the absolute TANK of a pistol- unbreakable, reliable, and like an AK rifle, if given even modest care, it will last a lifetime
But NEVER in the history of guns and weaponry has there EVER been a WORSE POS than the Ruger P89.
Well, maybe the French ChautChaut (sp?) machinegun but even THAT POS is better than that Ruger POS.
Prove me wrong! LMAO
Ruger p series is absolutely hottest thing around
@@user-td1zo3tv9p the 89 was great but the 85 was a dog.
I didn't care for mine. Had the really neat P89DC with the .30 Luger conversion kit with it, but I couldn't stand how it shot. I'm usually a decent enough shot, but felt like I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with the Ruger. Just sold it today, actually.
I have the stainless p89, works flawless same gun Arnold used in true lies a sexy piece
I read somewhere that old man Ruger held a philosophy that said no one needs more than 10 rounds in a magazine.

Hey James - I got a Ruger P-85 before the call back and carried it and a PC 9 (same magazines) for about 15 years as a duty duo. Love them and never let me down.
James do you ever have back pain from carrying this channel on your shoulders?
He uses his legs to lift, that's why he always wears shorts.
This is why he drinks
Hop and JohnnyB do a pretty good job too. Just as entertaining as James

This video aged pretty well in terms of Magpul's FMG-9

Definitely the Ruger P89 has a lot of sentimental value with me!🥰🥰🥰
The Lee Enfield No. 4 has a lot of sentimental value for me.
Yep,
I love my Ruger P89DC. I have a whole bunch of Berretta M9 magazines, and the only issue is widening the mag release. It is big though.
Id like to see the Colt detective special, that'd be cool.
6:46, for a moment I thought you were going to say the Magpul Masada. Bushmaster needed to be stripped of the right to produce the ACR long ago.
Iwi masada
Same here
Yeah, IWI could be a good producer. When they'll stop producing Galils ACE and Tavors, that is...
I have a P89. It is accurate
It is heavy.
Wow that’s quite a story! Never had my guns returned that were stolen so you got lucky my friend!!
I had a Ruger LCR stolen out of my car a few years back. Cops in California recovered it, returned it loaded, with no paperwork, in a hotel parking lot. I will never get rid of this gun.
8:12 I actually screamed "hell yes!" I'd love to have a revamped P Series!
Im just over here still trying to figure out why S&W stopped making the 5906.
This! Love that beauty. Was hoping to see it on the list.
Or the 4506
The entire 3rd gen line was awesome. I have several. But in this day and age, they’d have to keep it universal. There were too many sizes, calibers, and even materials to start the whole line up again. But an alloy single and double stack, like the 6906 and 3913, would be awesome.
That or a 1006 in 10mm.
It’s like loving the square body cars before everything got all curvy. And holy crap that ridiculous American paint job on your wall in all these videos I’ve watched was the ruger this whole time wow I never knew what it was but that’s hilarious to me.
"And it is also dead."
I mean, you're not wrong.
5: G-11 but with an integrated magnified red dot
4: C-96 red 9 that’s modernized
3: AUG in 300 BO

I have a p85 made in 1988 and I love it. My only complaint is the trigger well, the way it angles down vs being straight takes away from the grip comfort over time. IMO. It’s a tank and never lets you down.
The RUGER KP90 in DESPERADO was fucking amazing, especially in the BAR GUN FIGHT
As you said recently “ I’m the guy that gets invited to a wedding and gets the cops called on me”
