  • Is your dryer running but not getting warm? In my case, this was due to a broken heating element. The solution is to simply replace the heating element but there are several issues to be aware of when making this fix. For example, it is critical that the heating element is electrically isolated from the heater box. The repair should take less than an hour and the replacement heating element is only $20 (search for DC47-00019A). Save yourself time and money and use this easy fix.

Hello. Thank you so much for this video. By following your directions I was able to just replace the heating element since it only cost around 50 bucks. My wife called a repairman who charged her $89 to come and tell her that we needed to replace the circuit board. Instead I changed out the heating element and now it's working. Thanks again! You saved me a lot of money.

I have similar dryer and every two years replaced the whole metal housing (heating element assembly) around $110. I am on my third assembly, now that I know I can check for the break in the circuit, it will definitely save a few more dollars. Thanks for sharing the knowledge.

In my case, the rest of the housing was totally fine and it was only the broken coil. I hope this helps, thanks for watching!

@@ChristopherLum I replaced the whole housing because I wasn't sure how to check the individual components for failure. After watching how you tested the resistance, gave me the knowledge to test a future failure.

Is it necessary to disassemble the water line and vent line?
