    He really has such an unorthadox way of fighting. It's a wonder how he's been so succesful with this type of syle. I think even he would admit that his style of dropping his hands works for him because he's fast on the counters but teaching someone to do that could be costly.
    That's why he's a legend. He does things that most people shouldn't and gets away with it.
    One of my favorite fighters of all time right here.

  • @Kaelan66
    @Kaelan66 14 років тому +1

    @MrBrandonb60 They tend to keep their hands lower in karate which is what his primary striking style, due to the fact that they focus on lateral movement which focuses more on quick footwork than using your hands and arms to block, its also how he gets such weird angles on his strikes

    I have a lot of respect for Chuck, but if you watch his final fights, Chuck was loading up on his right. He was throwing that lazy pawing left and his opponents knew it. Whoever was training him should have prepared him properly!

    • @joshschaeffer3300
      @joshschaeffer3300 5 років тому +1

      He got alot of the same criticism which was well deserved. Using the same trainers, same sparring partners, same techs he didnt evolve as a fighter and he got figured out, finally out of desperation he started using takedowns of his own and mixing it up some but it was to late. As long as chuck was in the game he should have developed some submissions and some good takedowns or at least some feints in with his striking imagine how much more effective he would have been if you even thought he might try a takedown or he had 1 or 2 subs he had mastered. Amazingly good at what he did that's how he lasted as long as he did but you either evolve and grow or you die

    @FedExHumper Mate, Chuck gives the fans what they want to see. He has his own technique and everyone loves it. Having a straight on brawl is great to watch, and it works for him. Hes defeated so many people, mainly by KO and that's what people want to see. Hes been using the same technique a long time, only recently he started getting beaten. So maybe it's not his technique we should be looking at.... And being induced to the UFC hall of fame, pretty much says, 'Legend in this sport'

  • @jeremytyson8659
    @jeremytyson8659 9 років тому +1

    These are perfect combo's that will work very well and deffinantly take down your for, yes! With much more speed of course. But this training video is not being shown to you using speed.if it was you'd never get the combo's correct. Slow down , train slow and train correctly. That's why I like this video. Thanks.

    • @joshschaeffer3300
      @joshschaeffer3300 5 років тому +1

      Exactly. Speed will come. Precision equals power, timing beats speed. People get in to big a hurry and dont master the fundamentals and sadly some teachers let them, basically selling belts instead of skills, afraid people will quit if you dont keep promoting them

  • @nyblake

    Chuck's a black belt in karate, a purple belt in jiu jitsu, trains with olympic gold medalists in boxing, was a collegiate wrestler in polytech, and trains in kick boxing. He's not some guy who just has knockout power in his hands--if he was only that, he would have never been the force that he was.

    @FedExHumper "He even got KO'd by Rich Franklin" You say that like its a surprise. Chuck Liddell is more or less 10 years older then most of the other fighters hes being put up against. When your 30 and your opponent is 20 its not a problem, but when your 40 that shit affects you. Chuck Liddell has had his day, but no matter what anyone says, he WAS one of the greatest, and truly has earned legend status.

    chuck wear shin protectors in order not to hurt his partner,as you can see chuck sometimes uses a combination that requires using a roundhouse and his partner will just block it by his shin also... i hope this will help...^^

    @SuperGonggong : I dont think there was any animosity between the 2...Wandy loves to fight he just wanted to do well. I think Chuck had more to prove coz whn he came back to the U.S. ppl were sayin he couldnt beat Wandy. I KNO tht drove chuck nuts. Wandy i think had the advantage in conditioning and overall training. I just wish they fought in both factions coz their styles suit different situations. Chuck worx better with a cage but i think he woulda been at a disadvantage in a ring.

    @FedExHumper yes he is a wrestler and no one can keep him grounded, the difference is he beats them at their game and finishes with his, he beat overeem, guy mezger, and several other strikers so get your facts straight, better yet take a look back because he has beat some of the greatest.

    He (Lidell) has his hands at chest height all the time, is that a good thing in MMA? I am not trying to be funny, its a serious question. it looks like it takes a great deal of skill to hold the mitts aswell. Good video.

    @SuperGonggong statistically, Chuck would win based solely on his physical attributes... like u said he DOES have the reach advantage. His weakness is the fact he doesnt kno how to keep from gettin hit. UFC is ALOT different than Pride was i dont think Chuck had the cardio to go the distance if he and Wandy fought there. 10 min rnds vs. 3 min rnds is a BIG difference. Honestly, i think thts wat made him lose to Rampage the 1st time, he punched himself tired. I also think thts y Overeem lost.

    @SuperGonggong Question... WHERE did i say "u wouldnt kno coz u dont train"? read carefully b4 u respond and dont let ur emotions for an overrated fighter get the best of u... im WELL aware that boxing is one dimensional. I was simply countering ur claim that its hard to keep ur hands up in an exchange... Im ALSO well aware of Chuck's strong suits i kno he has great takedown defense.... but the fact he's gettin KO'd by ppl he shouldnt should warrant a reason to work on his defense for striking.

    @SuperGonggong Honestly, i WANT them to rematch... but i KNO Dana wont let that happen... he wants to protect chuck coz theyre close friends. True Hendo ko wandy but i Just bcoz Hendo did doesnt mean Liddell is capable of doin the same. Hendo evn caught Rampage with a few bombs. all chuck could really manage to do was daze Wandy but nt ko him....wandy did the same...all he could do was daze Chuck.... it truly was the best fight of chucks career if u ask me. Wandy doesnt need the Muay Thai clinch

Hendo did it, and shit I mean Wnad is consiferably smaller, damn what about his fight with overem? he would smash pride if that had been his home. their was lots of skill but many fighters dont use knees the way they get kneed,

    @SuperGonggong : Even in the fight against Wandy, Chuck was gettin tired thts why he started lookin @ the clock in the 3rd round. if the rnds were 10 mins he woulda died! Another tale tale sign when a fighter is gettin tired is when they back up and start hopping in place to show the judges theyre NOT tired hahahaha. Chuck did BOTH and it was only 3 3min rnds. He would NOT have gone the distance in Pride PLUS his style would be nullified by the ring. he cant "stalk" his opponent like in the UFC.
