Kanami....not just for her guitar skills ...but also for her composition is second to none..and just as a human being...she is a delightful lady and so adorable and a credit to Japan. Mincho Rules! 🤘🎸❤🎸🤘
Lovebites' Midori and Miyako - one of the greatest guitar duos of all time. They continue to improve each and every year and are now a level above almost everyone else.
Kanami is certainly not the most skillful one here but as a composer she is the most creative and interesting to listen to. In terms of shredding and stage presense, Hal Ca is probably top for me.
Hal - Ca and Kanami are just phenomenal guitarists. My personal favourites. But every one mentioned and more show just how ahead Japan is with great female guitarists.
Kanami, because she is special and has ROCK in her veines... She does not shy away from any experiments, is mixing SO MUCH different genres in her songs, she is one of the best music composers on the world right now for me personally. As a guitarist she is very good, but some in the list are better. But as a person, composer and overall package Kanami is WAY AHEAD!
Kanami is a "Guitar Goddess" in my book. But I will throw out Saiki and her vocals, she doesn't have that high pitched sound I myself find annoying to my ears. So for me Band Maid, my ears are Happy Happy and that what's counts to "Me".
You have shown every subarashii ladies guitar slingers I know, I love and cherish every sing one, having said this, the one who introduced me to all of the ladies on your list and a few more is the incomparable Kanami Tono! Without Kanamincho I would still be wandering in the music desert 🏜️ I had been in until 2016 when finding the Oasis 🏝️ that is Band Maid, sugoi so much music coming from Japan 🗾, I'm happier now musically than ever before and I've been there since an iconic Ed Sullivan episode that brought rock music into main stream. Ganbatte kudisai and arigatou gozimasou Japan for making music subarashii again!
I am fan of Lovebites but I won't be a fanboy. Really you chose top ten but one can add yet ten ladies. I like all of them. Stay safe. Stay Lovebites. 🐺🤘
Le chitarrista giapponesi sono tutte mostruose, impossibile per me stilare una classifica, sono troppo brave!Amo molto anche le chitarrista del gruppo Hagane:fantastiche!
I am happy you included Narumi--she is brilliant and gets far too little attention. Her solo work is worth checking out. Love all of these ladies, could not choose a better list!
Tomo-Zo of Gacharic Spin is incredibly good and versatile being able to play heavy rock and funky... both Kanami and Miyako are incredible musicians who play piano like a pro and compose great songs... there are so many great musicians and metal bands in Japan right now it's a blessing 🙏👍 thanks for the video
I enjoy Yuki, Miyako, and Kanami's guitar playing. Kanami stands out the most for her playful spirit and creativity, blending seamlessly into the band's music and bringing joy to the music.
In hard rock and metal, it would be my own list too. Now, I could make another list for the alt-rock/punk rock/blues-rock genres, with people like Moeka (Hitsujibungaku), Hisako (Pedro/Number Girl), Rei (guita Rei), Wata (Boris) ... Japan is so rich in talents!
Your list is a good one and would have to agree. Hazuki is a killer guitar player. Some video with her playing with the band, she is shredding! The Revive with Saki shows that skill.
Li-sa all the way for me, best shredder, was coached by Paul Gilbert. “A new picture & Come see me” are brilliant examples of her incredible talent along with Hazuki. We are talking about guitar playing here? not who wants world peace and has the best makeup and dresses😁 Also honourable mention goes to Hal-ca, really digs in. I guess it helps that I’m not a fan boy but looking at who can PLAY! 😁
I like your approach as I‘m not a fan of ranking competition in music. I guess we can agree that all of this ten guitarists presented here are outstanding player and much is related to personal taste. If you’re a metalhead you might prefer e.g. Miyako or Saki, if your more on the progressive rock side you might rather go with e.g. Kanami. My favorite is Kanami, she sounds like no one else and her composition skills are a very unique plus. One of my favorites is missing here, it’s Tomo Zo from Gacharic Spin/Doll$Boxx. In my top five beside those would be Saki, Miyako and Yuki, I guess.
Excelente e difícil lista porque ela muda constantemente. Também senti falta de Tomo-Zo, Yui (Cyntia e Telecide), Mitsuru, Matsuri, Sakura e Mayto. Muito bom, parabéns!
Even if I agree that Kanami has the most original compositions and phrasings, I wouldn't say the other guitarists "sound the same way" at all. Even in the same band, and often playing in harmony, guitarists Midori and Miyako have a very different style (same for Hazuki and Saki in Nemophila). And Hal-Ca is a close second to Kanami for the originality of her playing (like for Kanami, don't make the mistake to only check her early work, but rather listen to the latest Asterism album "Guernica"). Narumi wasn't very original in Destrose or Disqualia, but check her solo mini-album, much more adventurous. Yuki (D-drive) has a very complex playing sometimes , which never borders on meaningless shredding. Kanami's my favorite too, but I love and respect all those musicians a lot.
Kanami only sounds different because she's more blues rock based, where as many of the others are more Neo-classical/shred. But if you listen to many of her solos, she does the same thing a lot and doesn't break out of that box much. Her most unique phrasing is when she does tapping. Good guitarist and songwriter, like her, but I think she gets a bit overrated. I'm a metal guitarist of 30 years myself, so I get very detailed and critical when listening to a player's style. For me, Hazuki X Saki and Midori X Miyako are my favs, but I'd say more unique styling/phrasing are from LiSA-X and Haruka.
IMO other guitarist can do/write what Kanami do, but I doubt otherwise. I'm not big fan of J female group nowday but I do love One Ok Rock, Scandal, Stereopony, L'arc en Ciel. The music that Band maid plays is like the 2000s Jrock music I listened to before
@@Vitericus1 I was not thinking about the bluesy parts of her playing, which is the most conventional part of her playing actually. I was thinking more about what you don't instantly catch at first, the "orchestral" work inside the song, behind the singing. This is where her most original work lies, with tons of great ideas - many bands would be happy to compose a song based on only one of those. Listening to the instrumental version of album Unseen World is a real ear opener. Many people tend to base their appreciation on what represent 5 to 10% of a guitarist work: soloing. The flashy part. I prefer to take the whole picture in consideration.
That's a very good list. A couple-three not included that happen to be right up at the top for me: Tomoko "Tomo-Zo" Midorikawa, probably more for her proggy excellence in Doll$Boxx than for Gacharic Spin; Mitsurun (ex-Bridear, currently Madamitakotyo no nai Sekai) for her innovative composition and phrasing and spotlessly clean execution, and Sakura Yoshida (Hagane) who has technical chops as good or better than anyone mentioned here...truly virtuosic.
The girls are all fantastic unreal we don't have anything like that in the United States you should start a label made in Japan I got a lot of toys like that when I was a kid now they also made in China but yeah that'd be a good name for a group, made in Japan
Good list. My favourites would probably be Miyako, Midori, Yuki, Tomo-zo and Saki or Halca I guess. Honorable mention to Wata, whose guitar playing is very different and hard to compare to anyone on this list, really.
TOP 10 is very difficult, my list is always have more than 10 guitarist... This list is great, but if but Tomo-zo and Misa (ex-Bridear) in the list, it look my TOP 10😀
Blues guitarist Shoka Okubo and Fusion guitarist Rie a.k.a Suzaku and Chizuru Segawa are also great guitarists. In a few years, I think "kinoko helmet" will be ranked.
You could easily make the top 20 of it, you missed to many. Only as an example Misa and Mitsuru former Bridear or Yui former Cyntia. But there are so many more.
Great list...but as always, I can't help but disagree with a few names. This is my top ten...ranked: 1. SAKI & YUKI 3.Hazuki 4. Kamami 5. Tomo-Zo 6. Hal-Ca 7. Sakura Yoshida 8. Li-sa-X 9. Rie a.k.a. Suzaku 10. Yashiro. Special mention: 11. Chie Iwashita❤ & 12. Miki Igarashi❤
Why you messin' around, inciting hunger and handing out crumbs? Why not show ALL the good ones and give each one PLENTY of time. I was in tears with this video, you think I'd turn away from 2 or 3 hours of this? 😃 🎵 🙏 🚀
Japan has some of the best musicians! The talent is amazing coming out of that country. But, what the heck was he saying? I could barely understand him for most of the video! Why were the examples of them playing so short?

Kanami is the best
Great list. While my favourite is Kanami, all these ladies are superb guitarists!
Kanami always number one 🔥🔥
I'm agree with you. We love Kanami for creative rock song and her skill.
Midori and Miyako...Breathtaking!
Lovebites' Midori and Miyako - one of the greatest guitar duos of all time. They continue to improve each and every year and are now a level above almost everyone else.
Saki and Hazuki of Nemophila are quite a good pair of guitarists as well.
Midori and Miyako...love them both equally🤘
Kanami Queen of rock n roll !!!! love you so much .
Kanami always 🔥🔥🔥
Kanami is certainly not the most skillful one here but as a composer she is the most creative and interesting to listen to. In terms of shredding and stage presense, Hal Ca is probably top for me.
Hal-Ca has so far no competitors. She's one step ahead to the second ones. Kanami are a musical genius.
@@kent-oveprestberg3578 Hal-ca's competitors are on a different level. Hendrix, Vai, Malmsteen, Van Halen, Rhoads, and Petrucci are her competition.
@@xovaqiin4844. Hendrix, VH, Rhoads has no saying in this issue.
@@kent-oveprestberg3578 Not true. They left recordings.
Oh no, a guitar EXPERT talking about a successful Japanese guitarist! Why am I not surprised?🤣
Hal - Ca and Kanami are just phenomenal guitarists. My personal favourites. But every one mentioned and more show just how ahead Japan is with great female guitarists.
Kanami is not even a top 35 Japanese female guitarist.
Kanami!!
Kanami, because she is special and has ROCK in her veines... My Midori and Miyako 😍🐺🤘🏴
So happy to see all my fellow Kanami fans here 🤘🔥🤘 Band-Maid is so unique and different, and she's probably the biggest reason why.
Kanami is a "Guitar Goddess" in my book. But I will throw out Saiki and her vocals, she doesn't have that high pitched sound I myself find annoying to my ears. So for me Band Maid, my ears are Happy Happy and that what's counts to "Me".

I agree with your message, but man was that comment ever cringey.
I like M&M
Bloody Midori and Miyako. Love these two Heavenly Goddesses of Metal. Always had a soft spot for Narumi too. 🐺
Yes, there's something abt Narumi.
Kanamincho! The One and Only!
Midori & Miyako from Lovebites 🐺🤘🏻
Even if they are all top notch!
Hazuki plays so effortless and looks so much cooler than anyone else.
I love watching Midori and Miyako. Beautiful Goddesses.
all great, but Midori and Miyako together are great !
I'm here for Kanami of band-maid. She's not only a guitarist but also a great songwriter. She's versatile!
Many of these are also songwriters lol.
@@cepho8349 Yes it is but only Kanami can touch my heart with all her guitar playing and songs
I love Kanami and Band Maud but I also have to give it up for Midori and Miyako! All these women are super talented!

Sakura Yoshida from Hagane is the new rising star an a indescribable talent who will be one of the best ever🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Yes, excellent 10 guitarists here. No doubt. By the way, I love TOMO-ZO from Gacharic Spin, too.🤘😊
yep - she is so under-rated - she can play all styles and writes very intricate songs - and she can sing!!
@@barryfox8464 Exactly! So much talent. And her smile shines everywhere.
I am happy you included Narumi--she is brilliant and gets far too little attention. Her solo work is worth checking out. Love all of these ladies, could not choose a better list!
So much talent coming out of Japan!
Also Tomozo, yoshi, sakura, and many more great female guitarists in japan🤘🏻
Sakura is one of my faves. I was surprised she wasn't on the list.
You forget Sakura, of ''HAGANE".
Sakura is one of great female guitarist from Japan too.. but i can only choose 10 guitarists for this list
Her playing is flash.
Only Sakura and Yuki another i not like
Mitsuru ex-bridear guitarist is another one i enjoy listening to. Yugen Mononchrome album with Murata Tamu on drums rock.

Your English is just fine. Toki for the win for me - she never fails to make me smile. Good list, this, glad to see Yuki in there too.
Excellent List. 🤘
Can't argue against this list, all great guitarists, I will make it a dozen by adding Sakura and Sally. 🎸🤘
Kanami Tono Is my favorite. But they're all incredible. Surprised no players from Bridear. Both awesome. Personal taste!😎🤘🤟✌️
There is never no love for Yoshi of Aldious. Yoshi is phenomenal.
+1👍🏻
Take Kanami out and put Yoshi in!!!!!
Yes, Kanami really is the top of the stack here. A little surprised Ayumi from Bridear didn't get on the list, but I realize it was your Top Ten.
Your list is a good one and would have to agree. Hazuki is a killer guitar player. Some video with her playing with the band, she is shredding! The Revive with Saki shows that skill.
Love your vids but the great guitarist you did not mention is Rie suzaku!
