thank you so much for this tutorial, mate! i've been trying to achieve similar effects for my videos but I see now that i've been using a super convoluted technique for this involving masking, keying, pre-creating borders and such. thanks to you, i see that there are much simple rand more efficient tools. LIKED and SUBSCRIBED!

Very helpful thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Absolutely spectacular, as always! Thanks so much Ben!
My pleasure!
another great tutorial. You could use object tracking with this too, right?
Yes. you can now for sure. Actually a circle will give you the smoothest track with the build in tracker... things like squares and the like will often rotate a little... doesn't matter with a circle.
This is great! I am looking for information on putting a video inside a street sign. The main video is a person walking down the street showing the street scene and want to put various inside the signs. However this gives me new ideas for another project lol THANK YOU!
I should have asked. Do you have videos on how to do that?
I might be late to the game here... did you mange to figure this out?
Thank you sir
Thanks Ben
You are most welcome Roz

Glad it was helpful! I really enjoyed making this one.
Hi Ben, how can i animate text in the style of a typewriter please? So it is written on screen letter by letter. Thanks in advance.
Love the content ❤️
Great suggestion. I just posted this video today which includes some tips for making that typewriter text as authentic as possible - ua-cam.com/video/6dZ4W4_sbWY/v-deo.html
Hey Ben! Your video is super helpful! Still got one question. How can I bring a customised shape into the element library?
You would need to create your own plugin for Final Cut Pro using Apple Motion most likely. What is the shape you need?
Thanks so much this helped big time
Glad it helped
Thank a lot! Gorgeous!
You are most welcome Alexander
THANK UUUUU
Welcome!
thanks very helpful in fact just what I was looking for !
Great to hear it was useful for you! Hope you find lots of other useful videos on the channel!
Genius, thanks for this 🙌🙌🙌
You bet! Really happy you liked it.
How do you change the circle to a rectangle or another shape?
In the built-in elements there are rectangle, star, hexagon and other options. You can change that setting in the inspector.
Hey Rebecca, Just posted this video on creating different types of shapes in Final Cut Pro - ua-cam.com/video/Oz3Jw6ozgAA/v-deo.html - look forward to more videos on your channel.
Is there a way to repeat this step on the same clip so you've got multiple people in circles on the same clip? Please and thanks.
If you have lots to make then this Picture in Picture method is definitely worth checking out - ua-cam.com/video/AEz8JavHrSk/v-deo.html
Ben, what's the easiest way to move to the VERY end of a selected clip? I know of shift+O (but there always appears to be oNE keyframe left, so it's not the "true" end). I also know you can hit the up and down arrows. . .which works if ur only working w/ a few clips, but if u have lots of clips beneath it isn't time efficient. any ideas? (right now my quickest work-around is to click the clip, press shift+o, then up arrow, then down arrow, and that usually does the trick)
You can use < or > to move the selected in or out point of a clip.
Ben, I am following your instructions, which are I think very well done, but when I get to the stage where I add the outline to the circle or text the BretFX Better Border encircles the entire video frame rather than just the circle or text. I have followed the video numerous times without any success. What am I missing? Thank you - much appreciated.
Sorry I missed this earlier. There is a border and outline option in the BretFX plugin. Border will put a line around the entire frame but outline will create the effect in the video.
A great video 👍 👏
Thank you 👍
멋진 강의 감사합니다 :)
천만에요!
Hi, I downloaded the free BretFX plugin but i keep getting an orange error screen when I try to drag the outline on top of the shape. Any idea how I can fix this issue?
You may need to check you have the latest version of Final Cut Pro. If that doesn't fix it then drop the support on BretFX a quick e-mail and hopefully they can help out.
Is it working on FCPX 10.6?
It works on the most recent version of Final Cut Pro which is 10.5.1 . That version was released on December 14th 2020. We are a little ways away from Final Cut Pro 10.6 at the moment.
BRO HOW DO I PUT A PICTURE IN A VIDEO
Do you have an example of what you are looking for?
Oh desr! Why are you in such a hurry? You are a very bad teacher!
Sorry to hear that this video did not work for you. Always happy to get everyone's perspective on what works for them.
Brilliant, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.
You are most welcome! Thanks for the kind words.
Thanks, It helped Me.
Great to hear!
