OIRAN at NAON YAON 2021 next. The legendary Japanese lady band Show Ya organise this NAON YAON event every year. No crowd due to COVID this year. SHOW YA celebrate 35 years in the industry this year and have influenced a heap of the Japanese lady metal bands today. Show Ya’s Sun Go is very close to Nemophila’s Saki and is why she performs at these events often. Check out Saki’s other band Mary’s Blood new stuff and Show Ya have a new single called Eye to Eye which is pretty good too.
Nemophila is all 7-string guitars and 5-string bass. there was no crowd at that concert. Corona restrictions unfortunately. Please check out "Oiran" from the same concert. And also their cover of the "Banana Song"! Typically, if one guitarist in a band plays a 7, then the other probably plays one, too. It helps with songwriting and communicating ideas to have the same number of strings in the same tuning as the other person.
Of course, it's obligatory that you check their cover of "Banana Song", among other songs that they have covered amazingly. Thanks for the reaction dudes!! 🤘🏼🤘🏼
still on the rise, nemophila are already the real thing. a supergroup. thanks for reacting to them and spread the word. a recommendition: "wagamama raika - trash? (live)" or "rain" (official music videos). conceptual a bit like baby metal: heavy backing band, cute front females, but here with four adult girls. melodies like grand anime themes. if you like modern j-heavy music and modern rap it´s worth a check out.
Im pretty sure there wasn't a full crowd because of covid. it was a live performance at a festival with little crowd. their rhythm section is phenomenal. Tamu is top notch percussionist and Haraguchi is superb.
You mentioned a 7 string bass by mistake, but actually the bassist in the group Asterism is rocking one of these. IMO their skill level is unmatched, check out their live version of "Dawn" here: ua-cam.com/video/buQPvINJcA0/v-deo.html
You mentioned wanting to see them live. They will be performing at the Aftershock festival in Sacramento the second weekend in October. Google it as I can’t remember the exact dates. They’re performing on the Friday of that weekend…
A lot of the "more known" (at least to UA-cam reactors) Japanese metal musicians use 7-string guitars. Nemophila, Unlucky Morpheus, Kami Band, etc etc. A lot of their bassists even use 5-string basses like Haraguchi-san from Nemophila or Ogawa from Unlucky Morpheus. BOH from BABYMETAL's Kami Band even uses a 6-string bass. So it's often more a rule than the exception to not go for the more "standard" equipment of western bands.
Band Maid use 7-strings? That must be a very new development.... I've never seen either of the Lovebites guitarists use 7s either. Also: please don't get it wrong: number of strings on the instrument is not a measure of the skill of the player. You can play a 9-string (yes, they exist) and still suck OR be amazing at what you do.
@@NewAeonWarlord Sorry 'bout Band-Maid, I edited to write "metal" musicians, but forgot to take out Band-Maid, they weren't supposed to be in the comment. And I thought Midori's ESP was a E-II Horizon FR7, so that's my bad. Going to edit my post again, but leave my answer here so your comment still makes sense. Also, I'm not saying anything about the skill, I hope you didn't get the impression that I meant it that way. Jimi Hendrix played 6-strings and I don't think anyone is bold enough to say he had less skill than anyone playing more strings ;)
@@ANDOR- All good man, I just noticed that a lot of people seem to thing you need some outstanding special skills to play extended range Instruments. I used to play 7-string guitars for a long time but I know (personally) several better guitarists than I am who play 6-strings haha it gets weird to the point that some guitarists used to playing 6s, when handed a 7-string go "I have NO idea what to do" and you always wanna be like "WHY?? it's still the same instrument, there is just one additional string, the rest is literally the same!" ;)
@@kekjagung Steve DiGiorgio, one of the best metal bassists I know, sometimes plays a 3-string bass... If it's the right tool for the job and you can make it work.....
Gacharic Spin - Mindset is definitely reaction worthy since they haven't been exposed to japanese funk yet. Also maybe some Hey-Smith, for some japanese skate punk.

Awesome reaction !! Nemophilia has captured my heart they're amazing 🤘🔥🔥♥️
Check out Oiran from the same show, Nemophila rock 🤟
You won’t be disappointed in any of their covers either
Wall of hair :D:D
The drummer has a beautiful voice.
They all sing well.
Can't wait to see these ladies play live, it'll be one hell of a show ! 🤘😁🤘

You're forgetting Saki's red guitar with clock work pick guard.

That Banana Song sure sounds like The Beach Boys gone metal. Maybe.
Nemophila is the number one kickass band 🤟🏼
Even the live mixing is not very good, but you can still feel their stage charm and energy!
Next one《oiran》live 2021 please!🌸🔥💪
I think Hazuki always plays a seven string. Saki's dark Killer is seven, but her red with steam punk pick guard is six strinf.

Show-Ya released a new album btw :)
Nice one gentlemen. Oiran live is a must. If you like the heavier stuff, then their cover of maximum the hormone's Shimi should kick your ass.

Welcome to the world of NEMOPHILA
It is two 7 string guitars and one 5 string base.

the verse sections remind me of 80's thrash. ie: Exodus, Possessed, Final Conflict, Dr. Know...

Bandmaid-Dice official or Different official vid🤟
Great performance. But it is a shame the sound production is more in the poor side... well after all this is an event with many bands.
Try the Babymetal song "B.M.X" they use 9 string guitars on this song.
