It still amazes me how doctors can say it's not an issue when there are so many of us who suffer long term. This is why I speak out. People need to know they are not alone, no matter what the "experts" say. I'm so glad you found me too! Thank you for watching! 💜

Do you only eat breakfast and no lunch or dinner? I tried 6 days of fasting on chicken stock and meat, and my diarrhea got even worse. Since I also have a celiac, I am thinking the chicken might have been fed grains. Although I bought pasture-raised chickens from local farmers. I was so hoping to start healing my gut with the GAPS diet, but it didn’t go well. I am also so skinny, I can’t afford fasting a lot. Thanks for the video!

Thank you so much for watching! Yes, for now, only breakfast and nothing else. Have you tried a different meat? For some people chicken can be inflammatory. That's why I went with the ruminants. I couldn't find anything negative about them except maybe histamine issues with some people. That doesn't seem to bother me.
Chicken was the first thing I cut because of this quote on the MC forum, "Aim to have good serves of protein each meal. which proteins? this is where things get very individual - Things like Chicken can be ok for some, but total chaos for someone else." Here's the link: www.perskyfarms.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=79&t=22328&sid=6e5d0d913eb38b25b22a7c180f9d2b08
Yeah, unfortunately, I don't have much room for weight loss either, so I'm hoping that the fasting will heal my gut enough so that I can go back to two meals a day. But I do believe that plenty of extra fat added to your meal is key to avoid too much weight loss. Your body can run on two fuels, carbs or fat, which is why keto and carnivore are great for weight loss. But when you don't have fat stores to draw from, you have to consume them. Chicken is one of the more leaner proteins, so I would try beef, pork or a fatty fish like salmon. But like all meats, try to source pastured or wild caught as they will have the highest concentration of nutrients.
I wish this condition weren't such a gamble on what each individual can eat or not. It would be wonderful to be able to say, "Oh you have LC, you should eat [fill in the blank] and you'll be back to normal."
Thanks again for watching and I hope I've helped you! 💜

@@sheamcintoshford-author5494 thanks for getting back to me. How long have you been on Stage 1? My diarrhea is so out of control, I am thinking of taking some meds. I have had continuous diarrhea for 6 months now, and it only gets worse.

I started carnivore pretty much right after my diagnosis, so about 9 months. But I didn't learn about chicken, pork, and fish possibly being inflammatory until about 6 months ago. That's when I started on just the ruminant meats. It definitely helped me, but fasting is really making it better.
I don't really plan to move out of stage 1 to be honest. Before Covid, I had been eating keto for 3 years and in the best health of my life because of it. But I definitely saw the veggies on keto as being harmful once the colitis started. I didn't understand why until after my diagnosis. Even though I was eating chicken and pork, the diarrhea definitely eased up when I switched to carnivore. (I had also completely cut out coffee at the time.) But the lion diet and fasting has really helped. When I went to edit this episode, I realized that I'd only had the one bout of diarrhea in the entire week! That's been a first!
Have you been prescribed Budesonide? My diagnosing doctor put me on a short prescription of it initially. I don't know if it helped me much. Figuring out diet relatively quickly was the biggest benefit. I had already known that I can't tolerate gluten or vegetable/seed oils before covid, so carnivore just seemed a natural direction for me.
I really hope you are able to find relief! This is such a debilitating condition! It interrupts so much of life! 💜

@@sheamcintoshford-author5494 I refused hormone therapy. I am having hard time following through the meat only diet. I have seen Ayurveda practitioner who gave me an herbal formula that I take twice a day, I have started seeing some improvement (not consistent yet) with it. My other practitioner also put me on DigestaCure AutoimmuneX capsules, I have just started so I can’t yet advocate for it. But she said they’ve seen great results with other patients. Anyways, I found this diet very challenging and too limiting for me. But I am glad it is helping you so much.

It's such a shame that the meat only diet didn't work for you. I really hope you're able to find a fix! Let me know how the DigestaCure works. I've never heard of it before, but I'll do some research. I may not try it myself, but I'd love to suggest it on my videos if it works for you.
