The Entire Continental Divide Trail... But Faster

- This summer I walked 3,000+ miles from the US border with Mexico to the US border with Canada along the Continental Divide Trail. I started my walk on the 10th of May and finished on the 12th of October, 2019. Along the way the trail passed through the states of New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana.
The milage that I have listed in this video was measured by a GPS that I wore from start to finish.
I hope you enjoy.
Great video and very unique.....it give a great perspective on the actual trail than any others I have seen.
I've never seen any other videos that blends the views and actual non broken continuation of the trail like what I am seeing in your videos. Well done!!
Home! Thanks for posting
Absolutely awesome video!
Really enjoyed!
Love the video. Congratulations
I really like the way you put this together.
Howdy. I think we met at the Grand Canyon last April (I have a photo of your card from there) when I was walking across America from California to Delaware. Like you, I did videos but not a fast one like this - pretty good.
Congratulations on your CDT hike. I crossed over the CDT in May at Weminuche Pass in the Rockies when you would have still been in New Mexico.
EPIC and inspirational!!! I admire and respect your adventure deeply, thanks for sharing!🙆❣
Thanks so much; that really means a lot. I look forward to posting more from this trail and from others as time goes on. Thanks for the subscribe!
Wow! You certainly are fleet of foot! Incredible journey!
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed :)
Sobo'ed in 18'. This is awesome!!
You had a much better snow year than '19, but I heard it was pretty dry in '18. Every year this trail gives its own unique set of challenges. I'm excited to hike it again someday, but there are a lot of trails to see in the meantime. Glad you enjoyed :)
Looks epic!! So great to see
Beautifully done, mate! Loved the way you put this together... Huge thumbs up from me, and I've subscribed as well! Happy New Year.
Wow, that was really good! Thanks
Thanks Rick! I have a lot more footage from the CDT that I'm in the process of editing, but getting distracted by trails in the meantime. Hopefully I can have some more stuff posted in the upcoming future. Thanks for checking out my channel in the meantime! Happy trails!
Epic adventure and lifetime achievement, congratulations! We recognized the CT portion from our thru hike this past summer (2019), granted way less snow. Thanks for sharing your experience, both versions.
Thanks MAD. I loved the Colorado Trail last year when I hiked it NOBO, and although the snow on that Colorado section of the CDT this year was beautiful, it was hell trying to get through it so early in the season. Glad that we pushed through though. Most people flip-flopped the trail this year, but I felt like it was worth the extra effort to hike it as an unbroken NOBO path this year.
Thanks for watching!
Great video!
Found this video on your post on Facebook on a hiking group. Glad I found your channel. Really nice video. Great channel. Subscribed. ✌️
Glad you found it. Happy to have you as a subscriber! Thanks for the support!
Absolutely amazing. Incredible amount of work that went into that video. One of a kind. ✌️
Hey this some fantastic footage! Phenomenally executed as well... if you don't mind me asking what did you use to stabilize your shots?
Used the software in the camera. I was using a GoPro Hero 7 and the "TimeWarp" feature.
Wow. really neat presentation. What date did you finish up at Chief Mtn, if you don't mind me asking? Thanks again for sharing. This was a lot of work to do all that videoing and the putting it together for us to see. Thanks again! -White Mexican
Oct 12th, if I remember correctly? I have all the dates in this post I think: ua-cam.com/video/mMr_fWqTaJY/v-deo.html
hey what alternates did you take? great video
Thanks for watching! I tried to mostly stay on the official route with few exceptions. I did follow the Gila River Alternate and really enjoyed that, although I have heard some reports that the official route in that area is nice as well, and I took the two primary alternates in the Wind River Range (Cirque of the Towers & Knapsack Col). I got 6 feet of snow over 10 days in Northern Montana, so I had to road walk the last section, but that was less of an "alternate" than a last-ditch effort to get to the Canadian border. Oh--and I did take the alternate route into Pie Town to avoid the long highway road-walk and the Ghost Ranch Alternate for the sake of resupply. I also had someone recommend taking the alternate route north of Silver City, but I wish I'd have stuck with the official route there; the alternate offered nothing but a scenic road walk.
It's in montanna Colorado and idaho
Also New Mexico and Wyoming :)
Why they say Mexico to Canada not in either
Sorry for the confusion. The trail itself stretches from the United States border with Mexico at the state of New Mexico (the beginning of the trail) to the United States border with Canada at the state of Montana (the end of the trial).
Thanks for the lovely video!! I'm hiking the CDT NOBO this April, and will be vlogging the journey on my channel! Would love you to check it out :) Happy trails!!
