  • What is an "Armchair Critic?" I'm diving into what it means and why it might not be the best approach, especially when it comes to judging historical figures like Joseph Smith. We all have opinions, but are we considering the full context? Let's explore empathy, constructive criticism, and how to avoid the easy trap of judgment without understanding.

By their fruits ye shall know them. We can see Joseph Smith fruits over 200 years later growing still to this day. A true prophet called by God.

How do I know Joseph Smith is a prophet? It is through revelation from God. I have that undeniable witness. What are the implications of that? I see Joseph Smith chastened by the lord and rebuked by him in the Doctrine and Covenants. I see the hard lessons he learned by sad experience for no listening to the lord the first time. Despite all that he is still a prophet. The lord being so patience with Joseph Smith in his failings reminds me of His patience in my failings. Joseph Smith is still a prophet and is busy in the spirit world continuing Gods work. You can read about it in Doctrine and Covenants 138.

So true bro! Imagine all these people with low ethics and standards criticizing one of the most historic men of all-time. Like some fat guy watching Tom Brady on Sunday complaining about how much he sucks lol

Joeseph didn’t restore the entire church, the Lord used him to restore just the foundation. Tell me how much of a kingdom can you see when you only see the foundation?

Joeseph did not persevere, I’m not sure if you ever read the doctrine and covenants, but the Lord continually rebuke Joeseph for his weaknesses. Before his death he was commanded to flee to the Rocky Mountains, instead he disobeyed the Lord again and listened to his wife and brother and stayed. Thus we have the prophecy, or Joseph asks when will the coming of the cinnamon be in the Lord says if you live to be a certain age then you will see it.

Joseph Smith was still human with human flaws. I know for myself that I have had prompting to do certain things or not do and have disobeyed because I'm human and fear sometimes gets in the way. As far as his death.... before Joseph's mother had to see her sons after they passed she told God she wasn't sure she could handle looking upon them. God told her he took Joseph home so he could rest. We should remember that he was beaten many times, endured much pain, many trials. The reason God said if he lived to be 80 he would see the second coming was because he knew he wasn't going to

@@StompMom5 no, Joeseph was specifically commanded to go to the Rocky Mountains for safety. He was warned and commanded to flee. It was a IF and then statement, if you keep the commandments, then you get the blessings. But yet again, Joseph disobeyed Lord just as he kept doing throughout the doctrine and covenants.

Constructive criticism doesn’t exist among people who know the Lord’s commandments.

You need to study racism more, there’s a reason that the Lord put a mark on the skin. Read jasher chapter 73.
