So this is gonna be kinda long for a comment but here we go...
I am an illustration student in Utah. Because of quarantine, I downloaded tiktok back in April. I have had an instagram account for a few years, nearly 500 posts and no growth even though my art got better. I fell in love with the art community on tiktok 💕
I don't have a huge following yet or any viral videos, but I'm starting to get seen by more eyes who actually like my art unlike on instagram.
One thing I've noticed a lot on art tiktok, is many artists all at different skill levels are finding ways of making money and some starting businesses.
I would like to get 1k followers before starting a business but I am researching my options on ways to sell my art. Like prints or stickers, for example. Through doing research on starting an art business, I found your youtube channel 🥰
So thanks to a bunch of inspiring and helpful artists, including you, I now am setting a goal: I want to start an art business by January 2021 😊

If I want to download the app from tik tok, the reviews say only bad comments and a warning that tik tok always has access to your phone's camera. 😱

Yes! Please show us how to create a tiktok video and post it. Especially adding music to it. My tiktok is jojo_residentofcougartn (don’t ask lol) no content yet though. Hopefully soon.

Whining commences now: I dunno. I’ve set up my acct there, but the split second I login to TikTok, it seems to start hurling loud, jerky-movement content at me. Ten seconds in and I want to run screaming before my head explodes. It may be a great place to reach people, but I don’t want to go near it. Is there a way to turn off what it won’t stop throwing in my face? Hitting mute is a must, but it still makes my eyes bleed.

So basically search the content you want to see. Like the videos you really like and want to see more of that same kind of content and Tik Toks algorithms will soon only show you things you are interested in.
Jessica Teal-Craig , thank you! I really wasn’t sure - given what it was showing me - that the app was paying any attention to what I actually like to see. But I’ll definitely do more searches! I appreciate the advice!
@@Luxinda when you first create a new account it shows you the trending videos first until it establishes an algorithm for what YOU like
You talked about music, isn't it copy right infringement to use song without permission?
Christi Fischer , from my very limited exposure, the music that TikTok offers for video use is in very small sound bites of 15 seconds up to a full minute, depending on how long your video is. My guess is current artists who have music there for use have already agreed to this as a way to get their music out there. All the music clips are identified with name and artist.
Can I ask a question thats not on this topic? If so I set up my Etsy account (great tutorial, thanks) got like 22 items in there, posted paid my 20 cents per post yet NO ONE can find me. Friends or family. So if friends and family can't find me how is a shopper going to?
