Have you had any professional mentors along your journey?
If so, at what point did it occur to you that you needed help/guidance/etc.? And how did you go about searching/hiring someone?

Not professional mentors, but a lot of mentors. I suggest finding people who are doing what you want to do and reach out to them to see if you can build a relationship. Try to look at it as much as possible in terms of how you can help them though, not just how they can help you.
