Fantastic fabrication again Dave well worth fitting gussets adds a lot of strength. People watch what you do in your garage because you provide great workmanship to watch & learn. Keep them coming mate
Always enjoy your down to earth ‘bloke in his garage’ manner - it’s what most of us are or want to be, offers confidence, advice & encouragement. A well deserved following mate - thank you 👍🏼🍻
Fitted some of these years ago to my mk2 , i remember them being a lot more angled and thicker steel. A tenner a pair they used to be .. just searched and they are £40 now. Good saving that Dave
Hi Dave, great watching you....and its not "rubbish in your garage", rather its an informative insight into how your skill and thorough knowledge are an inspiration to your followers. Keep up the great work, we all appreciate your dedication to detail compared to some guys who flash over the important details required to turn out a top class result.
Good job as always Dave. And you deserve much more than 9000 subscribers in my humble opinion. Your style of repair and renew is the sort of content that most enthusiasts can learn from and have a go at themselves👍
Another good job Dave. Good to see you're a Floyd fan! I had a chance to see them on the Pulse gig at Earls' Court, and I said to my wife that I wasn't really bothered because I figured they'd be washed up at that stage of their career, so my mate at the time found someone else to go with him. Obviously, massive mistake, I missed what was quite possibly their best ever performance!
@@DavesGarageuk Another reason for me to be jealous of you Dave! I've got the VHS and DVD of the gig, it really was a masterpiece of a show, no mistake.
Cracking job as usual Dave I’ve just fitted power steering to my mk2 can now turn the wheel with one hand should make it a more enjoyable drive literally just tried it for the first time tonight in the garage out for a spin tomorrow 👌👍 keep the videos coming better than corrie lol
@@DavesGarageuk went for a drive yesterday Dave, so now going around roundabouts or trying to park into a space is now a doddle whereas before the power steering with 7inch wheels was a strain much more enjoyable drive 👍👍
Great teacher of 9000 people who , no doubt , will be inspired to give their own project's a try .
Thanks Rick 😊
Ok
Great job Dave and the rev counter works well many thanks again.
Glad to help

Glad you enjoyed it
Nice work Dave - well done.
grindering.....love it...
Nice touch with the fluxcore, with its excellent penetration. Better weather conditions offer good ventilation reducing breathing difficuties.

“Let’s go Blue Peter on it” that will mean nothing to our friends across the pond! Lol
🤣🤣
Great video Dave.
As interesting as ever 👍🏻
hi another master class on fabrication..💪💪👊👊
This is on my things to do list for my mk1. Thanks from Oz.
Your Attention to detail is amazing Dave this cars come so far can’t wait to see it painted it’ll be a real milestone . Nice job mate 👍
Thanks pal, it's getting closer and closer
It's a lot easier to get the welding neat if you use gas. I can see the attraction of flux cored though.
Agreed, my gas has run out, and I keep forgetting to take the cylinder for a refill
@@DavesGarageuk I found for my MGB restoration the little disposable bottles worked out cheapest. It didn't need that much welding though.
Great job dave

Interesting stuff, let me know how the drive goes

@nealthomas5943 good to know, what did you use?
@@DavesGarageuk hi Dave I bought a complete unit from roger hicks power steering solutions based in ponyhenry very helpful 👍
Did u add strut turret brace underneath ?
Turrets have the type 35 shell strengthening
Behind the heater bubble is always full of 💩and rust
Unusually mine is OK
There is another UA-cam channel in the USA called Dave's garage. Nothing to do with car restoration.
Yeah I've seen that
The welds evèn sound ugly a4re u using gasless
Yep, my gas has run out
