I dunno what it is about your videos but they are so soothing and I notice there’s like never a negative comment. Always said in a way that is pleasant. I think I need that in my life. Such… ease. It’s so nice to read and hear what I would think your voice would sound like.
Lol 😄 Thanks for sending such a nice postive message to me. I only noticed I don't really like my own voice when I tried narration! This format works for me. Delighted you're enjoying it 🤗 All the best!
Hiya Lianne, now that's what I call a proper art haul! I think that the Hahnemuhle D+S books are excellent quality as always with the brand, and represent great value for money too. I can't make my mind up about the Schminke granulating colours yet, I particularly like the Tundra and Desert ranges and Jackson's has got a deal on many Schminke watercolour sets that started today, so who knows? Thanks very much Lianne, take care, David. xx
Lol 😄 Thanks David for your kind comments! Schmincke has now made it's granulation sets available as individual tubes too, so we can pick and choose. Have fun shopping! Have a nice weekend! Lianne
@@Papertude I think the algorithms are working in your favor now. Your video was recommended to me in the “explore” page. I live in the Middle East, so I think you are reaching a global level of exposure. Just like you, I have a very busy day job in the art sector, yet not as an artist. However, I am still committed to continue making and exhibiting new work every year in my summer vacation. Best wishes to you and all the devoted art lovers around the world.
Beautiful video. I’m a novice when it comes to art and I haven’t decided yet what I truly love yet. I especially appreciated your analysis and critique of the brushes. Things I haven’t thought about and why some brushes are better than others. Thank you!
Thanks Debbie! 🤗 Glad to hear my video can be helpful and thanks for letting me know! 😊 Buying handmade brushes nowadays is a bit of a lottery, especially online. You never know what you're going to get! I hope you find an artform you love. Enjoy the journey!
Wow what a well organized and edited video! I would love to see you swatch the watercolor in the haul video but I understand that can add a lot of time and editing to one video. Either way amazing video and thanks for sharing!!
The Neon set and Ukraine palette each have their own separate swatch videos. I didn't do the two new super granulations ones in the haul video because I presume it might bore some people. I might give them a separate video. The Shire set is very beautiful to use in landscapes. Thanks Nadeane, for your kind comment and noticing all the details - the editing was a monster! Have a great weekend! 😊🤗
Wonderful video. Thank you for showing the watercolor paper texture differences between those top professional brands. I’ve watched a lot of paper reviews and no one I can remember ever showed the texture comparisons. That makes a huge difference to me because that’s the one thing I was curious about but didn’t have the money to buy the different brands to try myself. I know what I like texture don’t have the extra money to experiment. Thank you so much For making this video. I really hope that you do come back to UA-cam and create more videos.
I'm glad it helped and thanks for letting me know 🤗 Just like you, texture is a main concern for me! I've been travelling a bit but I do intend doing more videos. All the best ❤
@@Papertude I like your videos. Watching you paint is is relaxing and entertaining. I’m able to pick up a lot and learn a lot from watching. You’re an amazing artist.
I decided to subscribe and watch another video. You do the best job showing and describing every item!! Your DiVinci sable was gorgeous brush!! I’m sorry the tottinella (so) wasn’t very good brush…thank you for letting us know!! I appreciate your sharing with us. You really have great videos. I’m grateful finding you. Nancy Rolfe
I love your videos 💕 I always find some new supply or color I have been meaning to try or sometimes have overlooked completely. So helpful and I love the aesthetic of your videos as well. Thank you.
Thank you for your sweet comment! I'm trying to show things as clearly as possible and compare to relevant things I already own - hopefully it proves useful and adds value to the haul video format. 🤗
I never thought of how to feel a brush to see the quality for usage - I am going to check my own brushes to see how they fare! I struggle getting a really lovely point in a mop brush. The Helen x
The best drawing paper by far, that Ive ever used,is the Hahnemuhle Dessin. You'll feel what Im talking about, the moment you start drawing your 1st lline! I wad left speechless with my mouth open! Its performance and feel i superior,to any other drawing paper out there Makes Fabriano feel cheap...
😊 I thought Haze was made for Jackson's Art - as it wasnt in Schmincke's main catalog. I might still pick it up though, as I certainly have the space in that palette. Thanks for the info 🤗
Thank you for sharing this video. I hoped it wasn't a platform to show off expensive branded art supplies and you didn't disappoint. The information about sable brushes was very informative since I'm someone who balks at the price of Rosemary and Co. Kolinsky brushes. However seeing the performance of the da Vinci Maestro sable brush against your finger verses the Tintoretto sable brush's performance was enlightening. The Tintoretto brush you received may have been created by someone having a poor day and inadvertently by-pasted quality control; however, it's bristle quality didn't appear as if it would have been equal to the Rosemary and Co. product on its best day. While the Tintoretto brush's tip appeared choppy and its belly was frizzled after the sizing was removed, the Maestro's bristles continued to look as sleek and polished as it's regal handle. Neither seemed superior in its pristine shipping condition. Removing the sizing was key. I hoped to see synthetic sable brush compared to a similar Rosemary & Co. product. Have you located a suitable substitute for kolinsky... that would work for hobbyist? 👏🤎💚🤎💚🤎💚🤎
You're right, my Tintoretto sable is one off bad brush. So far, the best widely available synthetic sable alternative's I've found that work are the Aqua Elite range from Princeton. Size 10 is one of my daily go-to's for sketchbooks.

It's a good quick test. For your mop, maybe reshape with gum arabic and leave to sit for a few weeks - hope it might help 😊

I love the Aqua Elite it comes closest to sable and has a good price. I also love the Maestro DaVinci, but the price…😊
I very much enjoy the Auqa Elite now - I might well go for their quill next 🤗
