  • In this video, I talk about using my canon M50 with the canon 22mm f/2 stm lens. I use my 22mm Lens for all of my youtube videos so I thought it was about time I did a review. This lens works well for portraits and video, especially with a ND filter. Let me know what you think about this lens and like this video if it helps you make a purchasing decision.

    This is exactly what I was looking for to get an idea of how the 22mm would look in a 'talking head' capacity. I just updated to the M50 recently and used an adapter to keep using my 24mm, but this is definitely on my list to check out and thanks for the heads-up on the renewed option!

    While the 22mm gives you a larger aperture than the 18-55mm kit lens, the 22mm lacks lens image stabilization. Thus, for vlogging, the kits lens would be preferable. Also, for to get the best bokeh possible with either lens, a variable neutral density filter is a must to open up the aperture. That being said, this was a very good video. Look forward to seeing more. 👍🏻

    Nice practical presentation to the point, and science made simple no unnecessary cluttered contents like some others, and they should learn this and simple and straightforward is what you need. Just to nit-picking if you can add the picture shot details in some frames where you have not mentioned. Good work, and you should do more reviews.

    Good review, nice and thorough. Canon just dropped the price of the pancake lens to $199 new, which means the renewed version is actually 10 bucks more expensive lol. Might be a temporary deal, tho, but a great deal nonetheless.
    Btw, just a suggestion, but i think you should add a little more light on the subject (yourself). I can tell you're using one, but maybe up the brightness a bit to add some more isolation from your background to make yourself pop in video like you do in your photos, or like in some of your other videos. 👍🏼

    Thanksgiving a lot for the vid!
    One thing I don’t understand though: You said it behaves like a 35mm on a full frame camera. But with it being an EF-M lens, made specifically for cropped sensor cameras, shouldn’t it also be a real 22m, just like a full-frame 22mm lens would behave on a full-frame camera?

    • @AngelaZuniga
      @AngelaZuniga  2 роки тому

      Hey there! it has been a minute since I made this video. The 22mm acts more like a 35mm while using 4k on the canon m50 due to the 1.6 crop factor... I may have had a brain fart during that part of the video though and mistakenly said that peice of info without mentioning the 4k crop, good catch!
