  • Ted Nugent talks about sex and drugs in a December 1987 TV interview. The BetaGems channel also has "1999 orgasmic Herbal Essence ad Dr. Ruth cameo."
BetaGems are culled from an archive of over 1000 beta video tapes recorded between from 1983 into the 1990s. Most feature live music performances broadcast on television in San Diego CA, though there are also rarely seen commercials, comedy clips, and other material that doesn't seem to be anywhere else on UA-cam or online. Most of the tapes were recorded on a Sony SL-HFT7 Super Beta Theater Hi-Fi Stereo - the same model was refurbished and is being used for these digital transfers and uploads.
In rare occasions where a BetaGems clip does appear elsewhere, we're only uploading if our own beta master is better quality or contains material not seen previously. Much footage comes from public television and public access broadcasts that the taper, who worked for a local cable TV production company in the 1980s, monitored nightly for several years. Some of the programming is strictly regional, mostly from the San Diego area.

Ted is telling the 100% truth about not doing drugs. He picked up a buddy of mine that had been hitch hiking in 1969-ish. My buddy offered him a hit off of his joint, and Ted said "no thanks. I have never, and will never do that". My buddy was shocked and I believe that this experience changed my friends life.

My uncle used to sell him his coke in the mid 80s back when he lived in Jackson Michigan. He also used to have a bow and hunting shop here and my dad went in there and Ted was in there and while my dad was talking to him about a bow or something he walks in the back of the store. Dad asks the other employee where’s Ted and he says “oh he left”. But anyway just here to say he was a hypocrite then and he still is.

If I would have listened to him, I would be better off, maybe not as many cool stories to tell, lol, but healthier, and would have made better decisions. Most drugs are bad and do fog your mind, alcohol included. But, there's a few exceptions, and those exceptions are psychedelics. Psychedelics shouldn't even be called "drugs", because they're really the opposite. They don't intoxicate you, they make you hyper-sober instead (as long as the dosage isn't too high). Read about people's experiences with micro-dosing, and how it gives so many people extra energy, focus, motivation, mood lift, etc, without any negative effects. Funny thing is, people will judge that, but then they'll drink 4 cups of coffee a day, as if caffeine isn't a drug too. Caffeine is much more of a drug than LSD or psilocybin microdosing is!

This is so true and incredibly under valued and misunderstood in today's culture, uniformed people that make up the majority of the population still unfortunately see phycadelics in the same light as traditional heavy narcotics and that's sad. Ted's intelligent and him staying away from alcohol and drugs is amazing, considering the era and the fact that he got game and didn't fall in to abuse or use of any kind, born in 1960 I grew up with alcoholism in my family, but functioning, I thought if your a man you drink beer at least, it was just the way it was in my family, I did every drug I found, I just liked it, I wish I didn't because it's followed me throughout my life, causing trouble, drugs and alcohol are not worth it, some people can drink a couple beers and go home, that's not me. Think twice before you even start, it may ruin your life.🙏

I do (certain) drugs, drink, and used to smoke cigarettes (honestly I probably don't do so many drugs and drunk less these days but it's the thought that counts, right?) And love Ted Nugent! His music is great and he's a good dude! I don't agree with his politics and he probably wouldn't even like me but I get him somehow, heh.
I was raised in the country a bit.
I realized a little while back that everything I love about rock and roll, all the bands I ever loved and the ones I loved the most, where all just doing Ted Nugent. Black Flag, Metallica, The Meatmen...it's all just Ted Nugent, man. Heh.
People really need to respect him as a rock musician because it's just a damn lie that he's not one of *THE* most important rock guitar players of all time and especially of the 70s and heavy/hard rock music of all kinds in general. The Detroit sound is a big part of it buuut...isn't Ted a big part of developing *THAT?
    *
I'm fine with eccentric characters so I don't really give a shit that he doesn't think like me. People on the right have to put up with me after all, hahaha.
I guess that's the only issue. Will you recognize that everyone doesn't think like you and deserves to live their life their own way? That's the only part that gets contentious. I suppose that should probably be the focus more, as it's the a tial difference of opinion beyond and behind the rhetoric.
I couldn't live like Ted. I want Ted to, but I need to do what I do to exist. I'm old enough now to be sure it's a complete lie that there is or even should be another way.
You have to die your own death, so you should be allowed to live your own life
There's room and it doesn't have to be universal.
Everything fixed in a couple sentences, whoa. Heh.
    If only.

“ I guess I’m too much of a big smart guy????” Please Teddy deflate that narcissistic ego facade for just one moment. You didn’t touch drugs so you could play at your optimal level and not mess with your music. OK first off you’re no Mozart or Beethoven or some great composer nor are you John Lennon an amazing songwriter. I’m not saying that we don’t all love cat scratch fever and stranglehold those are good tunes but come on get real, also no are you Coltrane, Art Tatum, Miles Davis or Charlie Parker your musicianship is nowhere even close to that level of technique harmony melody improvisation composition and overall musicianship as those serious cats playing serious music. You can’t even Comprehend the amount of preparation, wood shedding, practice that goes at becoming even a halfway decent musician much less a truly great virtuoso jazz improviser. They can play anything anytime anywhere and in any key and any tempo in any setting in any style. They are true monsters of their craft, masters of their instruments and music and almost every jazz musician in history has done all of this under the influence of serious hard drugs, hell what would Jimi Hendrix be like without LSD?And guess what In the 50’s when you were clean sober jacking off your guitar in search for pussy they were all smacked out of their mind on heroin through almost all of it, during which time they composed improvised and played and performed at the pinnacle Peak of their unbelievable powers. Bebop wouldn’t even exist as we know it if it wasn’t for Charlie Parker and his heroin habit. Heroin and jazz go together like peanut butter and jelly ice cream and apple pie. And I’d rather take a shot of heroin any day very time than a roll in the hay with 10 beautiful girls, a 100 a 1000 with any woman on the planet it doesn’t matter. All except for the love of my life. there’s one thing that heroin cannot replace or even compare or come close to and that is true love but other than true love and making love with that one and only person I’d rather do a shot of sweet brown sugar by myself or with a close friend. When the only thing that beats it is the greatest gift the universe has to offer, True Love, then you know you got something special ;)
