I'm a Detroit gal and have been acquainted with Ted for decades. I know Mitch and the Wheels better. In almost every interview Ted takes the opportunity to talk about what a great player Jimmy McCarty is and how much of an influence he had on him. Many musicians don't like to share that kind of information, they would rather people think they came up with their sound themselves. Say what you will about Ted but he has my respect for his continued support of a talented Detroit legend who deserves wider recognition. One thing though, Jimmy played a Gretsch Chet Atkins on Jenny Take a Ride and all the records, it was his main guitar at the time. I also have to say I was surprised to hear the name of my brother's buddy mentioned, Joe Padorsick.(Sp?) He owned a music store in Detroit called "Capital" my brother was a teacher there. Thanks for posting this.

When Uncle Ted is excited about what he's talking about, he talks so fast, it's hard to keep up with everything he's saying. I love it when rock stars, young or old, are really into the details of their craft. The idea that Ted can still get that fired up telling a story from so long ago is awesome to me. People need to realize just because you don't agree with someone's personal beliefs, doesn't mean you can hate them. I don't much agree with Ted's politics all the time, but he is a hell of a musician and he says what he thinks. The world would be a boring place without people like him. He is very knowledgeable about his gear and about musicianship in general. And for those who say he is a racist, you obviously didn't watch the end of this video.

Ya know I've worked with Ted Nugent and found him to be absolutely hilarious! Not Everyone knows how to handle a type A personality so they are offended., I get that. But...he isn't just some dumb kid who plays guitar and got lucky. He is VERY INTELLIGENT and speaks his mind. He says what alot of people want to say but don't have the balls to do it! At least he says it OUT LOUD where EVERYONE can hear/read it instead of being some puss behind a keyboard that wants trash someone! He is ALL ABOUT his family. Seriously about music and makes his opinion known on topics that most are too scared. I like the fact he brings subjects to the forefront so change can happen. Entertainers use their name and status for stuff all the time. He just does it .......LOUD......Uncle Ted style! ;-) I would work with him again any day! And by the way..... I know.....for a fact...... HE DOESN'T DO ANY DRUGS!

+Guy Man (evelskunny71) that's the great thing about music. ....it's all a matter of translation, opinions and taste. Not everyone likes every musician, genre, instrument or style. But, he has been doing something right to still be here...not forgotten like a lot of other musicians. He is still relevant and STILL WEALTHY doing what he likes to do and NOT EVERYONE IS THAT LUCKY!

I love Ted!!!! He is real through and through! For year's my kid's would listen to the radio and ask me who was playing on the radio. If I did not know who it was I would tell them it was Ted Nugent! LOL!!!! My 5 year old daughter thought she figured it out!All of a sudden there was a day on the Green Blue's Festival. Ted Was the headliner. We listen to the opening act's. Then I put my daughter on my neck and walk up to the stage. I walk right up to center stage as Ted walks out and rips right into Just What the Dr. Ordered. My daughter immediately flipped her head down in front of me and said "He's REAL"?My response was oh yeah baby Uncle Ted is very REAL!

There are songs that are iconic that seem to move mountains when played by the originator. A thousand youtube videos of "Eruption" but none compare to when you see Eddie playing it. Same for Stranglehold. There's just something about that intro that when you see Nugent playing it...it's like seeing an old friend.

I have used 9's and 10's all my life. Nines for the serious bending notes and 10's for mild bending. Earnie Balls are the best light strings there are hands down. i have tried them all and the slinkys and super slinkys are the best. I haven't played in some time though due to work and life but i played hard for 20 plus years after learning my instrument fairly well on the professional level and I hear that there are even better strings today.

Not sure what it is, but some of the most amazing musicians come from Detroit.
Would love to see Jack White and Ted Nugent play together.
I think some talented musicians (like Ted) have a bit of a sore spot with players (like JW) who learn just enough to make interesting music. As much as I love JW, Ted is completely right about JW being overrated as a "guitar player" in a talent sense. For those who don't know how to play guitar (which is 99%), JW seems awesome but to those who know ... music is so much more than how many albums you sell to people who buy the latest hot song to play on their iPhone through earbuds. JW is super creative though and a great musician in that sense. He's probably better at drums anyway.
