      i have a 2013 challenger rt. I've been having a leak coming from somewhere from my cooling system confirmed that it was radiator fluid by tasting a bit of it. A few months ago my coolant hose ruptured my themostat overheated. I have to constantly keep filling up my coolant resovoir with fluid. Do you think my radiator could be cracked?

    • @elpingurt4657
      @elpingurt4657  Рік тому +1

      @@gtillustrated2304 it could be cracked but where are you tracing the leak back to? Maybe check your lower hose and see if it's cold to the touch, if so, your pump ain't working. Thanks for watching!

    It would have been nice to see exactly how the radiator was removed. You went from the support bracket still attached to the radiator leaning against the wall.

    • @elpingurt4657
      @elpingurt4657  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, I understand what you're saying, I had a corrupted file for that video. It was removed out the bottom, it will not come out the top as you would need to remove items like the throttlebody and what not. You'll just need the car lifted a bit higher so that it will angle out from the bottom. If you have any questions just let me know and I can help guide you. Thanks for watching!

    Do you need to bleed the coolant once installed so it doesn’t have air bubbles ? pressurize it ? Also great video I have same model and needed help

    • @elpingurt4657

      I really wish that part of the video wasn't corrupted. I actually removed it from the bottom. Make sure to lift the car a little more so that the radiator can go back and down. A little at an angle. It'll come out fairly easy, you'll notice how once you're at that point though. Sorry I didn't have the video to show it. Thanks for watching!

      @@SohCahToa30 Thanks for watching the video and I'm glad it helped. Yes it will come out the bottom, just raise the car higher than you normally would and it'll come out easily. The radiator will come out the same way easily as well but angled. If ita on a lift you're golden, it'll come out straight down. Ask all the questions you want, I honestly don't mind even if its redundant. Its better to know than to assume.

    Great vid ? Why not replace upper lower hoses

    • @elpingurt4657

      I honestly did not think of it at the time, but also i was still in lower milage range (i believe 45k+, somehwere around there) and they were actually still in really good conditions. Ive since put on quite a bit of miles and they are still doing well (no rotting, cracks or driness to them) but i will be coming up soon to replace them just from the amount of time and milage. If you have any questions let me know and ill do my best to answer them! Thanks for watching!

    • @elpingurt4657
      @elpingurt4657  3 роки тому +1

      I believe it should, but you should be able to find a 180° or 190° tstat for your car with no problem. The idea is to run cooler so you can find a total for your car at the temp you want to run. I mentioned it in the video but a 180° tstat or colder will give you a check engine light unless you're tuned for it, which if you get a Diablo you can tune it easily. Hope this helps!

    That bottom pan removal and installation needs a whole video for itself. Also, If you're going to replace the radiator, might as well replace the radiator hoses and heater hoses - and idler wheels and tensioner - buy the bearings only and press new ones in. Basically, the radiators are so cheap, you might as well replace it every time you do your coolant change.
