In England, we say that things are getting on top of us. I call it Grains of Sand Syndrome: when you can walk on the sand, it's fine; when it gets round your knees, it's hard; the higher it gets, it paralyses you; when it gets over your head, you drown.
Remember, most people have a holiday. Most people use that holiday to rest, recharge and refocus.
Use your time in the summer to focus on your family and wellbeing. If you need to do videos, commit to every two weeks so you can do an extra now and again if you feel moved to.
We can all cope with you having time to yourself, just so long as we know you're OK.
Look after yourself, an empty teapot does not provide tea!! Big love, Gxx
I love that analogy. I guess I started sinking into the beach! LOL Thanks so much! hugs, 💜
I like the tea pot thing ! 🫖
I don’t add comments to YT but I want to make sure you know that you are very valuable. I’m 79, in a new location without friends and having trouble finding creative folks with which to enjoy common interests. I may not comment but I always feel as if we’re having a visit when I watch you. And I love all the inspiration I get from you for new and interesting projects. Find the schedule that works best for you but know there are many of us out here that will follow you no matter when and how much you bring to us. ❤
Thank YOU so much for coming on to comment! You got 10 likes on your comment which tells me there's many others that don't comment but appreciate my channel and that makes my heart so happy! Sending hugs and love to all of you! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
There is no guilt among friends. You need a break, then take a break. Come back when you can.
When we are retired ,there is no employer telling us we have this many vacation days. We need to self regulate. We're human
Yes indeed! ❤
Dear Steph, thank you for being here! 💜💜💜
Thank you Kathy! 💜💜💜
I just love your content. Dont worry about schedules. I dont believe creativity follows a linear path, its more natiral, ebbing and flowing. Post when you can. 😊
Now that's a truth! Hugs and gratitude! 💜💜💜
Taking a break is so necessary! I appreciate you. Do videos whenever it fits YOU, your life and your creative spark. No expectations here and no schedule required. I’ll watch when you post. 🥰
Good, I've heard this so many times now I'm starting to believe I can do it however is best for me! Thank you for commenting! 💜💜💜💜💜💜
Jeri you are speaking my language! I'm so glad you paused to share this video. I'm sure I am not the only one that connects with what you were sharing and feels like-minded. Thanks dear youtube friend!❤
And thank YOU for being here! 💜
I'd watch your videos if they only came once a month. Your creativity was just what I needed this summer. I'm a caregiver wife and it's hard to take care of ourselves so we must do what's necessary to keep well. It's not hard to tell that you're a giving person. I'm sure your honesty resonated with hundreds of us.
Gloria, thank you so very much! 💜💜💜 Caregiving is hard, I did it for many years. Sending you hugs! 💜💜💜
Don't beat yourself up, your community will be here, at least those who are genuine. Hang in there. Yeah burnout is real, take care of yourself.
Family and your self care is the most important thing. Take next summer off or even just one month. All of us seniors know exactly what you're saying. You're the best!
I just recently discovered your UA-cam channel and I am thoroughly enjoying it. I don't have any crafty friends either but you are such an inspiration. I've been going backwards to catch up on past episodes. Thank you so much for providing such interesting content. Please don't stop.
I don't think that's possible, unless I got really sick! I love making videos and spending time with everyone here! 💛💛💛
Hi Jeri, I know exactly how you feel, I have experienced burn out this summer and I have had it once before. The problem is you don’t know it’s happening until it happens! Be gentle with yourself, you are so precious and we love what you bring to us in your videos. You will be fine, you are strong and beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing your gifts and talents its much appreciated. God bless Bella xx❤
Thank you so much Bella, and I'm so sorry you are experiencing this too. But the upside is you recognize it and so did I. So that allows us to make changes. Life is a constant readjusting of how we live to find that Balance. Sending you healing hugs and love, 💜💜💜
“All’s good Mom!” Is what my son tells me, with an amazing hug, when I get overwhelmed. That helps more than I can say. I understand what you have been through and ask you to please not push too hard. We seldom see how we are doing ourselves and are truly blessed to have other’s in our lives to let us know. Keep creating, pray continually and enjoy the moment that
God gives. You will be well! Hugs and blessings, 🤗❤️🇨🇦
Ahh, thank you so much! Praying and sending hugs back to you! 💛
Oh Jeri I will absolutely support you! Thank you for your vulnerability and as others have said you don’t need to apologize. I love your”ya-ya”❣️I admire that you recognized your need for a break. Your videos are so important to me, it’s like talking with a good friend, cuz I do talk to you too. Whatever you do, however often you do it, I’ll be there with you. I even tell my husband “l’m gonna visit with my friend, Jeri”. Whether you know it or not you teach us more than stitching. You teach us how to be good people. I am grateful for you💕
Pat..... Pat... thank you from the heart. I am so grateful! 💜💜💜💜💜
Balance - if that’s even possible- is so hard. If it’s ever figured out, I hope the info will be shared. I identify with what you said. Thanks for opening and sharing your sweet and warm heart. ❤. I’ll watch (gratefully) whenever you’re able to post.
I’m learning more all the time. The key is willingness to make changes and not get stuck in “Nope”.
💜💜💜
Of course I’ll watch you! Sometimes I don’t watch YT for a week or so. We all need breaks now and then. Focus on you and post when you want to! Grateful for you and for the love of stitching.
I'm not on YT all the time either, fits and spurts... Enjoy my videos when you pop in! Thank you! 💜
I completed understanding. I've been resting a lot this summer also, and I told myself that's OK.. Take time for yourself .Love you and love your videos whenever we can see them.❤❤
Thank you this means a lot! 💜
K3N sent me to you. I just love you. Thank you for being”real”. I so relate to what you are sharing; good storyteller.
Love that Kathryn! Welcome and Thanks for coming over, I’m glad you’re here! 💜
Wow! A real human! How cool is this! Hanging out tighter, JUST because you're real, like me.
Thanks! and yup, you'll see all the warts here. I share to encourage! hugs, 💛
Burnout is real!! I love your videos! And I’ll watch them whenever you can manage to put them out. We have retired to our cottage on the lake in the middle of the woods and it can get a little lonely. I will always look forward to your videos and I love your Facebook page too. They both allow me to feel more connected to creative people and I’m truly grateful for that.
Oh that FB page, I'm so glad I started that! The connections people are making make my heart sing! 💜💜💜
Jeri, whenever, however you can manage to share, we will be here. I love your authentic generosity and wisdom, and I so appreciate how you are willing to express the struggles many of us have with the conflicts between giving to others, self care, and finding some balance in a world that places so many demands on us. You owe us nothing! But we love the fact that you care about us. No more explanations necessary. Just continue to do your best and that will be more than enough! You really inspire me in so many ways. Many, many thanks and love to you for sharing your creations and experiences.
Look at your UA-cam name! I love it, LiveinTruth. That says it all! All the comments have been filling up my well, I feel so much better now and will resume shortly. Thank you! 💜💛💜
So happy to see you are back. I love your videos and so appreciate your transparency. I have felt the same recently and it is so nice to know that I am not alone in some of these feelings. I too have spent a lot of time just creating and look forward to seeing more of what you have been creating when you are ready.
And I can't wait to show you! Making this video has lifted a HUGE weight off my shoulders. I just didn't know how to tell everyone what was going on. And then I just sat down and turned on the camera, I didn't even edit a thing! That doesn't happen very often. Thanks for watching! 💜
You make transparency real. Thank you for the honesty. ❤
Always! If I can't be honest I can't be. Thank you! 💜💜💜
Bless you! You're so thoughtful to try and explain your burnout but you really don't need to....definitely love you and your videos regardless of content and timing! As K3N says "you do you"🥰and your supporters will always be there for you! You are a bright spot in my day and I THANK YOU!! Take care of yourself....we will be here with open arms to embrace you and your creative goodies!
Hugs💕 Rebecca
Oh thanks Rebecca! 💜💜💜
I am 60 so i get it … we have the same amount time/hrs as everyone … but sometimes the everyones think we either have more time/effort etc to give & then ‘our’ time is past & it is as i have said past 25 yrs … it is Friday agin … it is always Friday😊and our week has gone agin …
Comes around soo fast!
I feel guilty/selfish if i have ‘me time’ that i dont deserve it or need it etc … that i need to keep giving of time & my energies then i have none …
I have said when i do a ‘crash’ that there can be 10-11 things that can go wrong … but it is #12 that sets me off & it mebbe the smallest ‘lil thing of all of them but … it adds up …
I have several medical issues & try very hard to push on … but am tired & like you said need a nap … but feel like i am giving in to ‘it’ so keep on going
Please take care of you💜🙏🏻✝️
gentlehugs 💜
Hi Vikki, thanks for sharing. I hope you get a rest too! sending hugs, 💜
Burnout is a thing! Love your videos and will continue to watch how ever often they come out. Please don't feel guilty. Your peace and happiness should be more important than a video schedule. ❤️
Thank you Joy, thank you so much! 💜💜💜
You gave us an example of self care and realigning your practices.thank you
Thank you, I guess I did! 😂 Thanks for being here! 💜
Love yr videos, anytime. I am 80 and 6 yrs ago my daughter had a stillborn birth, and this time of year is difficult for us. So I understand burnout and time to reflect. From Joy in Cambridge, England. Sending love ...
I'm so sorry, I do understand. We had one of those too and it's very painful. Sending you much love and hugs for both you and your daughter. 💜💜💜
Oh Jeri, so relieved that you have taken time for you. Happy to have your videos anytime - look after yourself 😊
Thanks Penny! I suppose you could always go back and watch the older ones, if you're like me, you won't remember them anyhow! 💜💜💜
We all need "mental health" days (or weeks or months). Finding balance with all the pieces of our lives is a never ending challenge. We understand and are happy that you're having creative time to play and recharge.
Thank you so much! 💜💜💜
Jeri, I will support you no matter how often you create videos! Please don’t feel you have to apologize when you need to take a break. I think we all understand that sometimes life is hard or complicated. I am 71 and I live a very isolated life. I have no creative buddies, so that makes you very special to me! It’s such a joy to watch your videos and spend some time with you. I support you and I know you support all of us. Thank you so very much!
I understand! And I am grateful for you! 💜💜💜
I'm sure you'll find the right balance. Perhaps keep your regular UA-cam schedule fall through spring and make them more occasional in the summer? You deserve to enjoy your summers with your family and everyone is much busier then anyway! Whatever you do, lose the guilt! You have nothing to apologize for.
My hubs suggested the same thing and also said I could bank videos. This past winter I was learning about lighting, cameras, editing etc but now I have that down I will have more time to make videos and do some of the other things I have been wanting to do, like post an eco print class I made a few years ago. It's just sitting... which is a shame. I hope to do something with that this season. Thanks for being here! 💜
By the way i put age as 60 … meant 70 🤭
Thanks for this video couldn’t have come at a better time. As a fellow 69 yr old I was questioning if it was age now I feel a little better
I think it's partly age, I could tolerate a lot more whoo haaa when I was younger. Now I need a lot more calm and peace. And I did say no quite a few times this summer but evidently not enough!
Thank you for being honest and open to us. It's too easy as a viewer to think the people we watch never struggle.
I know! The UA-camrs I watch look like they can just make content all day long and still have a full life. I know better! 💜
I love your videos and will support you and watch you on whatever schedule works for you and your well being ❤
Cathy, thank you so very much! sending hugs, 💜💜💜
Thanks for sharing this Jeri. I can totally understand. I am a “helper” person and often have to stop and remind myself that I need help myself too. So don’t feel bad for taking a break. You need to stay healthy to do all you do. I will be happy to see a video from you once a week if that’s what you need to do. Take care. ❤🙏
Thanks so much Leona! 💜💜💜
It’s ok to take a break. We all need breaks sometime. I have missed you but you need to do what is best for you. I have just found your channel and I love it. Thank you for sharing your time and talents with us. Your small squares are bring me great satisfaction. Thanks again for your generosity with your time and talent. Take care of you!
Thank you so much! It's nice to hear I'm missed when not around! 💜💜💜
Always grateful for you, Jeri. I’m glad you’re taking the necessary time for your well being. 💖 We’ll watch earlier videos and look forward to new ones when you’re ready. 💖💖💖
Thanks Deb! That's what I was hoping! That's actually what I do when I find a creator I like, I go back and look at their older videos, tells me so much about them. hugs, 💜💜💜
We all need a break now and again. Keep well and I’ll look forward to your videos as they come. I’m moving soon to an area to be closer to my daughter but she’s at work all day so it’s like I will not know anyone. I’m lady in later years too. And yes burnout IS real. Take good care. ❤❤
Good luck with your move! It's not easy going to a new location, I know! hugs, 💜💜💜
Burnout reached after decades of stress. I was shocked by the effects of stress showing in my physical body, even in blood tests. I dont know how to reduce the stress, I am powerless over people, places, and things, but I can forgive myself and go gently, increasing my self care. Fingers crossed, that works. The hardest thing is letting go of dreams I doubt will now eventuate. I have a lot of grief about that.
I'm so sorry Kala, let's look to the future and let the past be in the past. It's hard but hang in there. Stick around, this is a wonderful community! I'm glad you're here! 💜💜💜💜💜
Hi Jeri, as others have said, no one can pour from an empty pot…it s hard to get the balance right and it s human to struggle with that. I feel as though I learn that afresh in my own life almost every week! I am glad then that you took a break to tend to yourself and again, as others have said the videos you create are very helpful, inspiring and warm. If one came once a month/ every six weeks that would be okay too! If you took a break for the Summer it s fine, or whatever works for you. That way the flame of creativity is kept live and flourishing for you and then your videos help us all with our creative flames too. Please take whatever time you need and when we see you again then it s wonderful. Love from East Yorkshire UK xxx
Hi Lesley, I wish I had been writing down all the wonderful comments that I received here... Everyone has a different way of expressing it and I LOVE it! pour from an empty pot! LOve that one! I'm back in PA for a little and just enjoying some small remodeling work in the house. I turned the camera on too so I'll be posting that soon! Thank you so much! 💜💜💜
Take a break when needed...I have found your content to be creative and joyful. Whenever and however you wish to create and post is just fine by me. I always have many hands in play (more than I should) so understand completely the need to recharge and reenergize so that we may be able to bring what we create to the table. Your sharing and inspiration moves me to be more creative and I am grateful beyond measure. And yes, I will create a Kofi account today. Thank you.
And I received your gift! Thank you SO much!!!! I am grateful that you are here and left a comment too! 💜💜💜
I love it every time I find your videos - and the thing about the um, mature life, we are not 23! We have done it, been there, made this and that and are still loving trying new things. That does NOT mean that all of us can still do it all or even follow along with everything you or anyone else are doing. But having you visit is a charming thing! I love that you are wanting to be connected! Most people do! I love looking forward to seeing you! Seriously though, that obligation bit can burn one out faster than anything else, which defeats the point of it all!
So true and I can only do what I can only do. LOL and now that I let it all out, I'm contemplating how to proceed. Thank you for being here! 💜💜💜
I would like to press the 'like' button a hundred times now that I know it will get you something too. But unfortunately, you can only use that button once. I know what you mean about thinking no one likes your work or your videos. I have that too! Very often in fact.
But we, your fans, love to watch and listen to you ! ❤
Ahhh thank you Christy! 💜💜💜
I love your videos and please take care of yourself, I love your saying, aging gratefully ❤
Thank you so much! It means so much to me when people take the time to leave me a comment! Hugs! 💛💛💛
Hi Jeri, on the days you feel tired or worn out, you need to say to people ‘not today’, ‘maybe tomorrow’, or ‘I can’t’, even if it’s something you’d love to do. When we push ourselves on ‘tired’ days, we end up crashing. I feel a bit embarrassed saying ‘no, I’m tired’, but it is what it is, and I have to listen to my body. I have to face the fact that I can’t do now what I used to do only a few years ago. You have to put yourself first Jeri, or you won’t end up enjoying life. Sending love and hugs. X
And that's THE truth! I said no 2x this summer and was guilt-ridden but I just couldn't do it! I am feeling so much lighter now that I shared! Thank you! 💜💜💜
Totally agree.listen to your body x
Oh my goodness!!! How dare you try to be a human! Lol. Jeri, we all love you so much, and as fellow creators, we totally understand burnout. Been there - done that!! I can honestly say I will definitely watch every video you put out! I love your videos! You do you!! We got your back!! I watch your videos over and over cuz I love who you are and your personality. Love and hugs always!!! ❤❤❤❤
You're the best! AND I AM SO GRATEFUL! 💜💜💜
For me, burnout takes a little longer to recover from as I get older. I'm a middle-aged mother of an elementary aged child so I often find myself stressed and overwhelmed to the point that I feel guilty if I do anything creative. Summer brings garden work, and while that brings me great enjoyment, it limits my free time to very early in the morning or late at night. Lately Ive found myself going back to bed after my daughter gets on the bus and realize that my body is telling me I need to cut back. Little by little I'm saying no to volunteer activities that leave me drained and unappreciated and instead focusing on what brings me enjoyment.
As for posting on UA-cam, you do what's convenient for you, whether once a week or once a month. With winter approaching, I'll have some downtime and will be catching up on any videos I missed as well as rewatching my favorites. The important thing is that you allow your body to heal.
Everything takes longer as we get older!
Maybe a very small stitch project that you can pick up for just 5 minutes, or while you are waiting in a car or office. The creative process might soothe you, so long as it's nothing big that you try to take on. You sound like my youngest, she volunteers for everything and said she was going to cut back this year, she's feeling overwhelmed too.
I've never experienced this before, that I know of. And although I am feeling a lot better, I am still feeling off. I just needed to be home with Brian for a little but I will go back to the beach and this is the perfect time to be there. VERY quiet now. I'll enjoy a month or so of that then pack it in for the winter. The plan is to turn the camera on when I'm creating and just bring you all along with me. No pressure there. Thanks for watching! 💛💛💛
YR my clone. Similar lifestyle. Moved to a small town 4yrs ago knowing nobody. Recycle everything and produce creative items around the clock. Wish I knew someone who appreciated creativity but they don't seem to "get it." Slowly I'm finding my way, aways busy, never bored BUT it would be nice to know someone with similar interests. Retired. Love your projects!!! I do have 2 adult children in the area (reason for moving nearer to them) but again, they work and have busy lives.
yes, ONE like minded friend would be amazing! and my kids are super busy working and taking the kids all over the place so I don't get to see them much in the winter. 💜💜💜
Awww so heartfelt. Gurl, take care of you. We are here for you.
Thank you! 💜💜💜
Of course you will be supported by us. I personally look forward to your creative talents. The most important thing is you take care of yourself and find what will work for you.
Thanks Barbara! 💜💜💜
Your song is "I'm just a gal who can't say no" Sweet heart you are repeating your same old same old. I mean listen to yourself!" I just have to figure out how to do everything for everyone. " If you keep doing the same you will get the same. I love your videos and once a week is fine. Who told you, you had to do everything for everyone? They lied! You really do have a choice even though your inner dialogue convinces you otherwise. I betcha 99.9% of us do not expect you to everything! I pledge to remind you. Burn out is terrible and really bad for your health. I was a psychotherapist in another lifetime I burnt out several times and I helped many clients who burnt out too. Not now though. At last I am living my best and self focused life. Arohanui from me in Aotearoa New Zealand ❤❤❤
Ha, yes, I can relate to that song! Keep after me, I'll do my best! 💜💜💜
@JeriBellini love you to bits and pieces.
I’ve only recently come across your channel and I find you so inspirational! Any videos you choose to make and share would be wonderful. I’d rather see one video a month that you felt comfortable with and enjoyed making than more regular videos that caused you any stress (if that’s the right word) to make 💕
Thank you and WELCOME to my channel! I'm glad you're here! 💜💜💜
Jerri, you went on a creative vacation. You had to refresh yourself in order to keep making these wonderful videos. I love your videos so much I wish I lived in your tiny house village so we could have a cuppa once a day and visit. Take a break, whenever you feel the need. We will be here waiting for you, knowing you will have something fabulous to share when you come back. Denise from Chattanooga, TN
Oh don't I wish you were here too! 💜💜💜
Great that you are so honest as it may make others realise they need to avoid burnout happening to them. Take care please.
Exactly what I am hoping for! 💜💜💜
I'm the same age you are. I've found that I've slowed down in terms of the number of things I can or am willing to do. Chronic illness doesn't help matters any. Striking an appropriate balance is an on-going issue. Thanks for an open, honest video (as well as all of the creative content!).
you are so welcome Sue, it's a problem for all of us older folk! Especially when we have health issues. Sending you hugs, 💜
I only found your channel today and love you and your videos! I am going through some of the same things. Keep going and think happier thoughts.
Thank you so much!! I hope you will subscribe and stick around for awhile! Thank you so much for commenting! 💜
Love your videos everyone needs a break don't be hard on yourself nice to see you back😊
Thanks Jane! I've answered enough comments now to know I better take a break or else! one of you might come after me! ha! 💜
Hi Jeri .. l’ve watched most of your posts .. throughly enjoyed everyone of them in fact I just loved doing the Dots .. very therapeutic you are very valuable to this channel and add lots of interest .. please please take a break whenever you feel it’s ready .. look after yourself we will all be here for you … I’d like to show you what I’ve made with the dots one day … then you can see how important and creative you are… Bernie from the UK.. XXXXX
email me Bernie! My email is at the bottom of the description area. I'd love to see your dots! 💜
I have been going through the same thing. Creative people want to do it all and for the most part, we do. Then we get burned out. The people who matter will be here when you are. Keep going. You are doing fine in my book.
Thank you for that! Everyone's words have been so encouraging! I will not give up the ship! hugs, 💜💜💜
No need to say anything, just take care and looking forward to your videos again !
I appreciate that! Thank you so much! 💜💜💜
I hear you and know what you are going through. Now that I am retired, I wanted to give back and do so many things including being kind and helping friends and family. I enjoy this so much as when I was working, I did not have the time. Now I have time but I am overwhelming myself and I know why. Because I feel I am not creating enough. THAT IS MY MEDIATING TIME, and I had ignored that. I needed that me time, so you are right we forget to do what makes us healthy. And YES, PACE YOURSELF and learn to take the time to create and mediate and spend time with just yourself
I’m always learning through experiences in life. Brian and I talk about this all the time. We agree that to try new things is good, if we see it’s not the thing for us we change it. Thinking about doing something and actually doing it can be so different. Like you said, you retired and did more helping others but then lost your you time. Always be willing to make adjustments in your life. My saying about that is… I reserve the right to change my mind. Hugs, 💜💜💜 thanks for your comment!
I’d be quite happy for you to post whenever you can, whether just a chat or something beautiful and creative. I’ve only recently found you, and love all you do. Take care of yourself, and pop in to see us now and again ❤
I'll be popping again real soon, thanks for being here! 💜
Thanks!
Oh thank you for the Super Support!!!! I am grateful! 💜💜💜
Sending you love and a hug from England xxx
Sending you a big hug back! 💜💜💜
It’s ok if you take a break, it gives me a chance to get caught up with all the cool things you’ve already posted over the past few months. 😊
LOL I love that Shelley and funny you mention that, I watch other channels myself and can't imagine how anyone can keep up with all the fun projects that are out there! It's impossible! Slow and steady wins the race, right? 💜💜💜
Burnout is real. Can be caused by stress and or anxiety. Best to acknowledge it and learn to implement ways to curb within yourself. From meditation, to naps or to just being in quiet alone time. Make time for it within your day. You can't take care of anyone else, if you do not take care of yourself first. Jeri, I realize that for u-tube creators, getting out videos is prime for building your viewership. Now that you have the viewers, maybe cut to just a video once every 2 -3 weeks during the summer. During winter when outside activities are quieter, then maybe consider increasing if the heart desires. With that being said, viewer's have become emotionally attached to creators. To those who criticize for the lack of......my advice to those is to find more creators to watch. Unless you create videos you have no idea of the time invested in the creating of them❤❤❤love all you do Jeri!❤❤❤
I am so grateful for your comment and obvious caring! And we really do have to care for our YT creators or before you know it, we won't have anything to watch! Thank you so much for being here! 💜💜💜
We will love you take time for your self care !!!!
❤
Thanks Claudia! sending hugs to you! 💜💜💜
Happy to see you again, I have missed you, just do your videos when ever it works for you , I'm not going anywhere, happy to wait, your creativity is worth the wait , ❤
Thank you so much! I miss my fav creators too when they are not on but I also do notice when they are struggling wish they would take a break as well. Maybe they will see my video and consider it occasionally? Sending love, 💜💜💜
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and insights, God bless 🪡🧵♥️
Thank you Lisa! hugs, 💜💜💜
I’m 69 as well and I hear you. Just do you. Make a list of things you love and what makes you shine. I feel at this age we are thinking we don’t have time to do all the things we want to do. We probably don’t. So just enjoy.
Hi Cindy, the list is made! Ha! I did it the other day and tomorrow Brian and I will have a powwow to figure out what’s next. Thanks for being here! 💜💜💜
Even though you love posting on UA-cam, it takes work and everyone needs a vacation from time to time. This is the problem with social media. Creators become committed to their viewers and develop these lovely communities who they care about. This makes it difficult to take a vacation because they don't want to disappoint anyone or lose their audience. The impact of the algorithms can add to this stress. Based on your chat, I can see that you love to help people. That makes it hard to set boundaries and say "no" when you have no gas left in the tank, but you need to take good care of yourself to be able to help others. It's so easy to say and so hard to do because the people in your life come to depend on you, but I am sure they also care about you and your well being. Welcome back and please know that most of us will not abandon a creator we love when they need to take a break.
Thank you for your beautiful words. It’s all these lovely comments that fuel my love of creating videos. Thank you for being here! 💜💜💜
Jeri,
Sometimes I think promises are a sincere ideal want to do…we make them without knowing what the future holds…as humans we all make promises we can’t keep… they were sincere and realistic at the time they are made….but we don’t have those magic glasses to see the future!!!
As I get closer to the 3/4 of the century mark I will also say as we age things we took in stride on our 50’s don’t always feel the same as they did… there are times we need to readjust (just a tad)….sometimes I wish my brain stop playing tricks on me … all the ideas or things I think I’ll do as I did in my 30-40’s or even younger!!! Okay tangent done🤣🤣
To answer your question… I’m sure that I’ll be here as long as I’m looking at the grass and NOT the roots!!!😂😂😂 have a bright and beautiful day/week/month etc!!!
What??!! LOL looking at the roots! Hope you hang around for a LONG time. Thanks for your comment! 💜
💕💕 I have had burnout, and I understand. You will figure it out. 💕
Thank you, have never experienced this, so it was a bit frustrating. But I'm feeling better, and after my vaca to the homeland, I'll be back on track! 💜
I do understand. Taking breaks are essential. And family actually takes priority. At our age we need to give ourselves regular breaks. I do and after some self talk I move in from the guilt tugawar.
YUP! A lot of self-talk and talk from Brian and my buddy Monica. Got me back on the straight and narrow! 💜💜💜
You are too precious. I will watch you whenever you post. I be doing my dots while I wait for your next post. 😊 Take care of yourself. Priorities.
Oh the dots, I'm so happy when I hear someone is making them! 💜💜💜 Thank you!
I honor, respect and love you. Thank you for taking care of yourself, this is a strong message to all of us, you just gave us the gift of showing us what self care looks like. You again inspire me to be the best me possible. And I’m holding you in my heart ❤Sharli
Sharli, that is so sweet! Thank you! 💜💜💜 hugs
I really missed you! Please don’t feel guilty; you need to look after yourself and I’m VERY glad you’re ok and finding a balance that fits YOU xx
Yup! I missed YOU TOO! Balance and gosh how did I expect to summer AND make videos AND do a million other things is beyond me! I now know for next year and will bank videos! 💜
@@JeriBellini - good idea! I have started banking clips but the editing takes a lot of time … just about finished the next one. It’s packed full of exciting things and probably the most complex one I’ve done. Glad you took some time out 💕😊
❤
💜💜💜
I am a fairly new subscriber and have been catching up on your past videos. LOVE your Chanel 😍. You absolutely should take a break when needed. I could relate to so much of what you said. Sounds like many of the comments here show you are among friends who understand and totally support your choices. Count me in that group 😊.
You are INNNNNNNN! Thank you so much! hugs, 💜💜💜
Being redirected can be overwhelming, even if the things are all things you would love to do. Take time when you need it, for myself I will be there when you post.
This might be helpful and it what I do to find balance. I have a small room and when I am in there I am in the no drama zone, no gotta dos, no Mom can I ask a favor space. It has done wonders for my hectic life and everyone respects my need for quiet me time to be the superwoman they need.
I love that, the no drama zone! Yay you for taking what you need! 💜💜💜
Once a week, to me this seems like a big commitment. Why not every two weeks. Sounds good to me. 🇨🇦or just when it brings you joy.
I thrive on structure, that's weird right? So I'll plan on planning to see what I can plan. 🤣 And we'll see what happens going forward, together! 💜💜💜
So excited to see your face! Have you thought about taking a month vacation while in NJ? You could post a vacay picture/video, saying wish you were here? Like 2 min. would that help your algorithm? Your sharing your struggles is totally in line with your channel - and I for one, need it. Guilt is a joy stealer. Enjoyed your newsletter - Yellow Monday. Appreciate you so much.
Thanks Janet. This is the quiet time for rest. The kids went back to school, the campground is quiet... I'm going home for a week and when I come back I'll be all alone until the end of October when we close up. I'll get plenty of rest then! I promise. 💜💜💜
@@JeriBellini Sounds like a wonderful time! My thought was that it might be good to take a month off during the summer next year with no worries/commitments, but maybe a hi during that time. Enjoy the hustle and bustle of the kids and camp without having to find a quiet time to video. It may be hard for you as you care so much for the fellowship her, but just a thought. It sounds like a wonderful place that you have in the mountain- I can imagine it in winter, sigh, so beautiful. Although every season has it's challenges, doesn't it? I can no longer imagine myself shoveling to get out of the house, 4 and 5' drifts. My challenge this year has been the 110 degree days, trying to keep the hens cool, not to mention me! Whatever you do to keep yourself you, I'll be happy to watch whenever you post.
@@janekrut2799 I like your idea! If my plan works out, I'll make extra videos over the winter and use them over the summer. We'll see I'm still trying to figure it all out. I'm going home to PA tomorrow to visit with hubby Bub. ox
Hi Jeri, what a brave video👍Do what you have to do and what feels good. We'll see what or when there is a video. I have to say I also checked a few times if I had missed a video. Take your time, your rest and do what you like. I have been in a burnout/depression since November and I know what you are going through. Take good care of yourself🍀💐👍🧡
Oh no Anita, I hope you can too can make a few changes and come out of it. Sending you healing hugs! 💜
@@JeriBellini thank you. I'm working on it. UA-cam helps me and my crafts👍
As usual, everything you say resonates with me and burnout is something we all suffer from at one time or another. I’m conscious of never really getting anything done, too many distractions, so I’m trying hard to manage my time better and be more creative. Can I just say you look great in the video - I love the colours you are wearing! Look forward to your next videos, I always enjoy them ❤ xx
Well thank you! I actually stopped wearing this lime green a few years ago when my hair turned gray.(was my all time FAV color) But I do like it, and this shirt is as old as dirt but I find I wear it a lot at the beach when I'm chilly. So funny you mentioned that! hugs, 💜💜💜
Simply adore you!
Simply adore you back! 💜💜💜
Hi Jeri... I find that a LOT of us cut back over Summer because of activities and added chores of Summer. And doing too much is bad for your body... and if we don't listen we can become ill. No worries just hop back in when you rested and ready.
Great advice! Sending hugs, love your thrifting and stitching projects! 💜
Dear Jeri ... we are all allowed to take a holiday ... good on you for having one ...please next time just enjoy your time off ... your content is amazing ... im just recovering from burnout for the past 10 months and still being kind to myself until i make it all the way through.
One day I will launch my first video and I'll let you know 🤣
Please DO! Making videos is so relaxing and fun for me. I hope you will enjoy it too! 💜💜💜 And I'm so sorry you have been going through burnout too. There is a residual effect at least for me, I'm a sensitive person and I am noticing although I'm feeling better I still react quickly to small inconsistencies around me. I know this will pass with time. 💜💜💜
Well now, yes burnout is real.
I am creative- in many ways but not all things all the time.
Balance is hard because as females we are trained/ programmed to be ‘super’ in all things. Super helpers, super moms, better workers(whatever the field) , best cooks, first to volunteer and last to leave a great party. It’s understood we have to be better, faster, smarter than others to survive or succeed.
No we don’t . We are in charge of our own life and path. We have to recognize our power and accept it.
Give ourselves permission to just be.
I am learning to coexist with all the versions of me and be. Never feel guilty. Liberate yourself.
I’m 72 and I get better at it every day. I know if I’m not happy, healthy, wealthy , wise or on the wrong path- that’s my choice.
You’ll get there. Let go. Accept.
Thanks Jayne! We all need that reminder! 💜💜💜
Missed you Jeri. So glad to see you again. I’m grateful for any videos you post.❤
Thanks so much Patty! 💜💜💜
OMG! I want to say that I am sorry for not watching in the last couple of months. You are GREAT. I just turned 70 and have been alone for around 15 years. Just in the last couple of months all of sudden I have become very depressed. Your video today was just what I needed to hear. I have something to ask….. you mentioned that your videos are to help with the aging too. NOT to say any of your other videos are not great. But what you did for me tonight was just what I needed to hear. THANK YOU!!! Lots of love back to you. Kathie from Mexico ❤️❤️❤️❤️🐢
Kathie, check out some of my other videos, not the How-Tos but the ones where I speak about some of the challenges of aging. There's a playlist too. If you liked this one you might like the others. I always speak from the heart. 💜
No apologies required Jeri' ❤ remember you need to look after #1, that's you!! Thank you for doing this video - it's very brave of you.
It's so great to see that you've been happily creative ~ stitching definitely soothes the soul ❤ take care, and be kind to yourself ❤❤
And I can't wait to share what I've been making, I'm calling it the Burnout Series, LOL 💜
I had burnout with a 4 & 2 year old many years ago. I had to learn to relax and do what I wanted to do, and it took many years. You need to do things that please you first before others I’d be happy with one a month, and whatever day you want to do it. We all appreciate your honesty and the things you do. xxxxxxxx
Thank you so much. I am blessed that I only have to take care of me these days. It's got to be a real struggle when you have to take care of others when you dont' feel well. 💜💜💜
Of course we’ll support you. All of us of an age are more than likely going through the exact same thing.
I'm sure it's more common than we all know! 💜💜💜
You are an artist. If you look back, every artist suffers burnout at some point in their life. Actually, I think it makes you more creative, that is, it lets you reinvigorate your creative self. Pressure from everyday living is a bump in the road. If you need more than two weeks, take it! No one is going anywhere. Be well, Jeri. You are the only one who knows what you need.
So funny that you said this, I was having a blast creating and look forward to sharing some of it with you. 💜
Take care of you! we all really enjoy all your videos, your inspiring to all of us~ God Bless
Thanks Christine! 💜💜💜
Ive recently been asked when wondering what my purpose is now…..why can’t being you be your purpose.
That's a GREAT response! Hugs hugs, 💜💜💜
Jeri we will all wait np. I can't even keep up with watching anymore. Take care of you. Quote: "Kindness begins with the understanding that we all struggle.” - Charles Glassman. Huge hugs. Namaste 🐞🐞🐞
There's a lot of content out there these days isn't there Lala? I do my best to support other channels too, mostly at night when I am relaxing. During the day I must do my own thing. thanks for being here! 💜💜💜
@@JeriBellini I love being here and I'm so happy you're back. It's not so much that I have too much to watch it's just that something really upset me the other day and it took me a couple days to get through it. 🐞🐾🐞
@@lalagamma4452 So sorry Lala. Glad to see you! 💜
Take care of yourself.....I’ll be here waiting for you!❤
Thank you! 💜💜💜
Just glad to know you are okay Jeri. It’s just fine to take a little vacation. Why not? Schedule them in maybe and let us all know so we don’t worry about you. No one would begrudge you that. Anyway, I’ve really been enjoying you and your creativity. Wish you were my neighbor.
ME TOO! I would love a creative friend that I could hang with in real time. Maybe one day... Thanks for being here. I'm working on a new plan now to move forward. 💜💜💜
I think women our age AUTOMATICALLY put everyone else first-we feel so guilty actually taking care of ourselves! Some days (weeks) “little” things add up and create a big mental burden for me. I fall into the trap of seeing things as all or nothing. Have you considered shorter videos sometimes-less filming and editing-like that little board you showed at the end could be a 5-7 minute post showing it in detail and explaining how you did it. Posts about your craft room, using scraps, showing favorite pieces you’ve made in the past would all be of high interest, I think, and you could do longer posts when you feel like it. You have inspired me very much and I will look forward to seeing what comes next.
YES, I love doing shorter videos! And you would think as we aged we would learn but it comes from living a lifetime of taking care of children and parents, husbands, wives etc... 💜💜💜
So glad to see you back. What I don't want to see is a Jeri meltdown in a video. I would rather see fewer videos
Betty, no one likes a Jeri meltdown, trust me! LOLOLOLOLOL Thanks for being here! 💜
