    Thanks for the awesome video! Your thoughtful comments and suggestions are already being taken onboard. We thought we would let everyone know that the .mov bug is fixed (good catch), so all file formats are welcome.
    Hope the fit serves you well over trainer season, we look forward to an update.

      Free version is not very insightful. Results only state "adjustment needed" without actually revealing the type and severity of the adjustment. Blurs out the actual findings and prompts you to upgrade membership in order to view them.

    That's extremely useful. Bike fits are a great tool for getting the best out of yourself and your bike. However, they can be expensive, depending on where you go. Any means of doing it yourself is a huge plus. Great tech. Great video.

    nice and informative vid! i think ill give this a try because i feel i need to adjust the bike as never having a fit after buying it (regrets!) but due to covid this looks to be a good middle ground for now :) hopefully in the future maybe they might add a function to vid you from the from the front or back to look at hip wobble? but it defo looks like a good start!

    I think this is most interesting for all the people with many bikes or who would like to get their fit relatively good on a bike where it isn’t local-bike-fit-money important to them like a commuter bike or a mtb I rarely use. And I’d say it is also definitely worth the money if you anyways plan on doing a local fit because as you said it is much better to already have a good fit when you go there to really feel the small changes the fitter makes instead of coming there with a fit that is way off and every change the fitter does feeling good

    I am very curious but I know due to my injuries I am harder to fit. I shared your site on our local FB bike page because many of my cycling friends could benefit from this for a multitude of reasons.
    Additionally like Mr Russ I have a longer torso than legs which makes me choose between a better standover height or a better reach.
    My questions were too complicated to write in your online contact us forum so hoping for a call.
    Every part of detests the trainer, maybe it is the salty sailor in me but I need the elements, mud and an occasional honking car to sit in the saddle for long periods.
    It could also be a poor fit on the cheap bike I use in my trainer. I think this service will be helpful for those individuals who don't like the intense lycra zero fat atmosphere of a LBS. Bravo

    Great video! Certainly wondering on my bike fit via the trainer. I got a fit for my bike I ride outside, but I have a different frame and bike on the trainer and didn’t want to pay twice for a fit. So this is perfect I think!

    I tried the free version. It was extremely minimal. Just enough to validate that my fit is pretty close, and to get an idea of how good the paid version is likely to be. If you're extremely cheap you could use it to get some good info for yourself. But to really get the best use out of it you need to pay for it. Which I have not done yet (I definitely fall in the "extremely cheap" category) but I am really tempted to go for it. It looks like a really good DIY bike fit option.
    The only bit I was confused by was where it said my reach was within range, but it recommended I adjust my saddle fore/aft location. I couldn't tell from the free version if it was doing fine tuning of the reach, or if it was trying to comply with the KOPS fit theory and get my body adjusted to the bottom bracket.
    I appreciate you bringing new things like this to our attention, and really appreciate your willingness to suffer a little bit to do the fit in cycling kit in the cold to get a valid test result.

    • @PathLessPedaledTV

      The fore aft is prob adjusting for your hip/knee angle.

    • @myvelofit
      @myvelofit 2 роки тому +2

      Thanks for trying the free version! The saddle fore/aft is driven by the relationship of your hip/knee/ankle to the pedals rather than reach (so like KOPS, but not KOPS). Hope this helps clear things up a little.

    I think this app is probably a lot better than going for a 'professional bike fit' - the main advantage being that you can repeat the process over and over for hours after having ridden for two hours or so each time so you can see what the best fit is for really long rides.

    Seems like it would look at crank length as well. I've gone to shorter cranks to increase the top of stroke angle. If it told me that I needed to lower my saddle, I think that would be a hard pass.

    • @PathLessPedaledTV
      @PathLessPedaledTV  2 роки тому +1

      How many people have extra cranks laying around to swap out? Again, this isn't meant to replace a professional fit but get people in an acceptable range.

    • @cliffmcleroy8168

      @@PathLessPedaledTV Yes, it's one of the more difficult and expensive fit modifications to make. On the other hand it seems to be a very easy calculation for the software to make, and if the length is out of range, a recommendation could be made.

    • @myvelofit
      @myvelofit 2 роки тому +5

      We do provide a notice to riders when the analysis indicates their crank length could be too long. Though, there are a few factors that go into this, the fitting is iterative, and cranks are not inexpensive, so we don't currently make prescriptive recommendations on this front.

      Agree with Cliff, it would be a nice feature. I switched to 165mm cranks over the summer and increased my average speed overnight by about 2kph over a 65km ride. Night and day difference - might not be for everyone, but it might be a low hanging fruit to program into the algorithm.

    do u know what, there's a bike fit , something like this, but if this cost 0$ that one cost about $300.. dang fishy bikefitting industry just like smoky bike industry.. but i believe on function based bike fitting, those guy that got IBFI and/or stevehogapproved certification is a good place, but generally every fitter who know how to fit base on ur body function is a good one

  • @edsassler6749
    @edsassler6749 Рік тому

    Bike fitting is interfacing a machine with good quality control (the bike) with another machine with horrible quality control (the rider). These fit programs try to bring joint angles to numbers based on an average, which would be fine if there was better quality control over the human body, but there isn’t.
