if you are having trouble after copying this video try removing the SDD in the back. My game didn't highlight that cable untill AFTER i removed it and reinstalled it. then it worked for me
Oh thank you so much man! I was creating the sets properly in the cable app, but I wasn't putting the color mix on all the cables. Some cables were all red, some were all green, and blue. The game is definitely picky about this one.
I figured all the coloring, and combination stuff to make the cables, but it was selecting them to install that where I goofed, this helped. It's a fantastic simulator.
PCBS2 does not have a descent tutorial of the custom cables app apperently. Was confused how the app workt. Your tutorial is crisp clear. Thanks man. 👍

This is still necessary as a tutorial to this day. I just got into this game and didnt understand why I kept getting told "i need green cables for hte job" when I thought in fact i had bought them. But then after correcting that mistake I was applying green to one cable and leaving it at that. In other words, id wasted $500 on ordering cables individually with my naming convention "green 24pin" "green 8pin"... etc. You just have to apply the colours to EACH type of cable within one single $100 order. This is poorly explained (well, not at all really) in the game and this should not be as confusing today as it was at first.

I just don't understand why my computer doesn't allow me to watch UA-cam videos while I'm playing PC Building Simulator 2. Anyway, I really appreciate your help. It was awesome. The game is really cool for learning more about computer assembly and disassembly.
Hahaha Thanks I forgot to swap the sata cable. Pulled all the cables from the PSU but forgot the sata. So glad I came here before trying a bunch of stuff.
I did this exactly and it's just saying nah. I think it's just a bug with this mission. I cloned every step you did even down to specifically picking the flat braided ribbon cable type you used, no dice.
I was stuck here for a minute too. Make sure you unplug EVERY cable and plug things back in. It wouldn't pop the missions for me as I missed the power cable to the hard drive. Once I unplugged, and replugged it in, it worked
Why did they make this so difficult? Like everbody, i have been doing exactly what the costumer asked me. And now i have done it exactly as in this video And still the checkbox does not turn green. And there are more assignments completely unclear due poor information in the mailbox. I like the game at first. But things to repair or modify that should have been so simple, are just getting impossible. How can this be?
Doesn't work because when we keep the normal psu we cant see the new cable and when we change the psu for a psu modular work but they say need to remplace custumer pièce
my mission is install red green and blue custom cable set, but it does not work even i change in red green blue any way, i think it is a bug for the patch at Level 8?
In my case the system has a non modular powersupply. So all cables become black and the custom cables are not shown. If I change the powersupply everything works but I cannot turn in the pc because I didn't use the customer psu.

I somehow missed one strand on the 24pin 🤦🏻♂️ but the dumbest part of this mission is that it uses a non-modular psu so we’re rewiring PSUs now I guess 🤷🏻♂️
How did you complete the tutorial quest for cable coloring ? It's stuck for me with a tutorial quest, I can't even access the PC because it just prompts "YoU NeEd A GrEen CabLe DUH" which I've bought doing specifically everything you did : green colour, applied on both side of all cables, but no luck ................ Help

Buy a modular psu and install it and then all the wires will be colorful and the mission will work
try checking the psu cable by taking the back panel off, its easy to miss and that was what was wrong with mine
i just forgot to change the sata cable lmfao also the fact i had 14K now 11K of all the combinations i did bruh
For me it was the friggin HDD cable hidden in the back of the case 🙄
