My goal was 1,000 subscribers by opening day, and you all helped me pass that milestone WAY ahead of schedule. Thank you so much! By the way, this will be the last offseason acquisition video.
Hey man, great vid! Loved the breakdown of the addition of Mazara to the outfield and the signings of Keuchel and Gonzalez and how they’ll affect the rotation. With videos like this, I hope you join the ranks of Foolish Baseball and Jomboy in no time when it comes to Baseball content on UA-cam. For your next vid, I think I’d be interesting if you could look at the 2020 Dodgers and how stacked they are or maybe the 2020 Mets and why they’re projected so highly.
Another great video! That line up is long. I'm leaning towards the same five AL squads that reached the postseason in 2019, repeating, with the CHW just barely missing out.
Home runs have been overvalued by the baseball media. The team of this past decade The San Francisco Giants. A team that never used electronic sign stealing, won two of their decade leading 3 World Series by being below average in power hitting. They ranked 30th in home runs in 2012
Kyle Schwarber's 2018 UZR is a fine example of how external factors skew the score. 9 of his 11 outfield assists were fed to him and they drastically padded his results. Against slow runners like Matt Carpenter and Nicky Delmonico, Schwarber started his throw to home before those heavy footed guys reached third, then headed home lol. Freddie Freeman tried to score from second on a stolen base attempt. Two were singles hit in front of Schwarber where the batter tried to take second. ALL of these golden point opportunities were a matter of opposing runners not respecting Schwarber. Against a good outfielder, these guys are holding up and the more talented defender isnt getting the OF assist points to their UZR.
SUGGESTION: Less SABR. 1. There's only 4 ways to calculate WAR and it's skewed by opinion and external factor. 2. Statcast's outs above average is far superior to UZR and DRS. 3. A subpar defender can shine in UZR and DRS (E.G. Marcell Ozuna 2019, Rio Ruiz 2019, Kyle Schwarber 2018) and real life good to great defenders can land negative in those (E.G. Starling Marte 2019, Gio Urshela 2019, Kyle Broxton 2018). Statcast's outs above average levels the playing field and rates defenders on real life catch probability. DRS a Sports Info Solutions's employee's opinion of how hard they think the play is.
They were arguably the winners in Free Agency. They should take their division, or at worst a wild card. 1 thing is for sure, they'll be more entertaining and should be better than the Cubs
Good summary overall. However it does mostly leave out The internal guys who very well could improve the team more than the FA. Robert takes over for Leury more so than Mazara does, and should put up decent offensive numbers at minimum with GG caliber Defense in CF and 20+ SB. The rotation gets back Kopech who will give them a middle rotation arm, a full season of Cease, Lopez can only improve, and Rodon will be a pseudo trade deadline acquisition. Nick Madrigal is essentially a replacement for Sanchez, but has more speed, an equal glove, and has an offensive floor above Sanchez. You also have Collins, Mercedes, Mendick, and a plethora of OF options to add to McCann, Garcia, and Engel as depth options that will make sure only MLB quality players are getting any noteworthy playing time.
.....oh and maybe THE MOST important factor is team chemistry....these dudes love playing on this team and have FUN........whatcha out MLB, the south siders are gonna be a top team! 3-2-2020
You left out Dane Dunning, Kopech, Rodon coming back from TJ. Also Madrigal and Vaugh and perhaps now Gerret Crochet. The white are going to be scary good for the next decade.
OPS > wRC+ The park factors often say more about the players than the stadium. Through SABR'S millennial math, Yankee Stadium was a pitcher's park last year, but it hasnt changed a hair since it opened in 2009. In real life, the ball flies over the short RF porch and they die out in the deep left center. Saying it's purely just a hitters or pitchers stadium is a fallacy
Hey Bobby, could you do a video on the Cardinals? Any topic of your choice! I love my Cardinals but there's sooo few videos on them throughout youtube :( the struggles of supporting a midwest team...
I'm gonna start using them moving forward cause they are a bit better. I have to use a different font for the % symbols which is really the only reason I used /9 lol
I’m not a White Sox fan I’m a Mariners fan but looking at it from a distance I think that’s the problem with the White Sox is management I think the biggest obstacle for the white Sox is Jerry Reinsdorf he’s a really lousy owner
I wouldn't call framing the most important. That's skewed by umpires screwing up. If this electric strike zone works out, framing is gonna drastically lose value
if you play MLB the show 20, make your road to the show player go to the white sox, they have so much future talent: Nick Madrigal Andrew Vaughn Michel Kopeck Luis Robert and many more
Recent SABR fallacies. 1. Batting average doesn't matter. In 30 team expansion, the average world series winner ranks 8th in batting average. Only 2 world series winning teams in that span since 1998, have been below league average. If half of those world series winners were below league average and or a team that ranked 30th in batting average went all the way, then I'd say the batting average doesnt matter theory has some merit.
Would you like talk about Jason Dominguez is a pretty good prospect of yankess, the scouts say that he seems to Mike Trout, they says that he going to be a Mike
Grandal is a great catcher but after the 2018 playoffs (specifically the NLCS) Dodgers fans will always remember him as an awful defensive catcher, even if it isn’t true. And that’s coming from a Dodgers fan
Nah the best catcher after Realmuto isn't Grandal, but Willson Contreras. Not only does Contreras edge Grandal in OPS, He absolutely destroys Grandal in baserunning speed and throwing. Realmuto and Contreras are the only 2 catchers literally above average in every category.
@@DoomWar1 What specifically is an opinion? Give me ANY example. There's no opinion in MPH when judging throwing velocity. When Contreras throws the ball 87mph and Grandral throws it 80mph, its NOT an opinion that Contreras has a stronger arm. When Aroldis Chapman throws a pitch 102 mph, his throwing power is a fact not strictly opinion.
In pop time. The amount of time from when the pitch pops the catcher's glove to when the catcher's throw pop's the second baseman's glove on a steal attempt. Pretty much the combination of throwing velocity and release time. League average is 2.00 seconds. Out of 30 starting catchers in 2019, Realmuto ranks 1/30 at 1.88. Contreras ranks 2/30 at 1.91. Yasmani Grandal is tied 26/30 with 2.07. There's no opinion here buddy. Contreras is in the top 5, Grandal's throwing ability was literally in the bottom 5 of starting catchers
@@DoomWar1 Strictly opinion? In base running, Contreras is a rare catcher with speed. His sprint speed is in the 71st percentile in MLB. Grandal's sprint speed is in the 10th percentile. Yes, 29% of MLB players are faster than Contreras. 90% of MLB players are faster than Grandal. I don't know what millenial math you go by, but its not strictly opinion that Contreras shits on Grandal in base running value
Pronounced like a regular dude named Robert would pronounce it. Rick Hahn made this CLEAR when the White Sox signed the young man yet people continue to jack up a simple-ass name. Wtf!?

I use blue snowball. You can find them for about $30
2,000 subs before April?
At my current rate, I think I could get 3k by then!
Proud of you man!
I wouldn't be surprised if Luis Robert has an incredible season
It would be awesome if he had a 30-30 season as a rookie
That's not exactly a hot take
If we have a season
He is
Mark my words, Yoan Moncada MVP candidate. Let’s go White Sox!!
Giolito Cy Young contender as well
Young Dexter idk about that, he’s good but not cy young good
@@matteo5358 he finished top 10 in a lot of categories in the AL, I'd say that certainly puts him in Cy Young conversation.
Eric Stonebraker I’m not saying he won’t win it but with guys like verlander and Cole still in the AL I don’t see him winning it anytime soon
Dodgers Dude 31 sounds like you’re saying he won’t win it
I just found this channel and I'm in awe! These stat stories are so well explained, this is fantastic
Thank you that's nice to hear!

Chicago White Sox offseason: Best Ever 🤩

Such a good video. UNDERRATED! *i love these*
White Sox remind me a lot of how my braves have built their team. You can tell this core will be solid.
Another great video!👍⚾You should do a video on how the commissioner is picked or elected. Since people seem unhappy with Manfred.
Love it! Nice work. Go Sox!

I’m loving these vids!
great channel, go white sox!!
Good luck to the White Sox this year! But don't do too good since their in the same division as my Twinkies lol. Shoot for a wild card spot.👍🤔⚾
I loved having yasmani in 2019 as a brewers fan.
This was a fun and relaxing watch. Just a great and unbiased channel keep it up man

Could u do one on the rebuild of the tigers or the rise and fall of the tigers?
I definitely wanna cover the early 2010s tigers in some capacity!
Can you do a vid on something cardinals, but make it something good in cardinals. Love the boss bro keep it up
I dont think I've done any cardinals videos before so I'll see what I can do!
It's now July 20th finally MLB is happening this week! And Luis Robert finally debuts the 24th

When I first saw this my first guess was the worst record by each team in franchise history, i.e. 1935 Boston Braves (38-115 .248).
I can't Walt till my brewers play the south siders this season if there is one with the new divisions.

Can you do a Miguel Cabrera stat story video about his career in baseball how he was when he started and where he is now
